great, I can't wait !!!!

"His shooting is an issue, but Jeffries is better in a running game when he attacks the basket and can be a good help defender."

that's how washington successfully used him.

You got my question in Alan, thanks. I'm a loyal fixer but I got caught up here at work and only made the end. I think Bayless is in a much better situation in Portland but Danillo will get that NY hype that turns stars into superstars. I hope Danillo proves most of uswrong and is a 20, 6, and 5 pro for years.

Thanks again and congrats on the new Christian addition.

We should trade zach randolph for rasheed wallace straight up and let his contract run up after next season and get monta ellis or sebastian telfair to sign with us and buy out marbury. if we seabastian that would be great i kno he stephons cousin and all but he will flourish under dantoni system and bringin him back to new york might revitalize his career and also buyout jerome james

Alan didn't post my question so i'll pose it to you my fellow fixers:

What do you think of David Lee and Malik Rose for Kyle Lowery and Darrell Arthur?

Don't think the salaries match and Lee should be able to get us more than that. Now that M. Miller is gone how about Q rich for Lowery and Arthur.

if we could get Lowery and Arthur for Q-rich then I would be ready to declare the walsh era a success right then and there. I would be willing to give him the rest of the year off.

Duhon? Can you spell Bulls'hit?

Arthur's got that kidney issue which if true, is serious business. I don't know too many teams that would want to take such a big risk on a player that hasn't played 1 NBA game. Q-Rich has equal insurance issues which is why I said him rather than Lee.

Do you really think Lowery is that good Neil to declare Walsh a success for getting him. I don't know, I haven't seen him play that much because Memphis is not a team I follow regularly but since you and Alan are that high on him I'll check for him this year. If he was so good though why did Memphis draft a PG last year, want another PG in the Laker deal, and then draft Mayo? Hopefully he is playing in the summer league so I can get a better look at him.

It's not that I think Lowery is good enough to claim that the walsh era is a success, it's that I think that trade would be. And it would be the biggest signal of a departure from layden and isiah. We've spent 10yrs giving up promising players for past their prime, overpaid swingmen with bad knees. Here we'd be giving up a washed up swingman with bad knees and a bad contract for two young players that can help out immediately. And at worst will be bench players with manageable contracts.

I actually am very high on lowery, though. I think he's very fast, he's very smart, he's a good shooter, a tough player, and a defender. He's an all around player. Now do I think he's the pg of the future? maybe, maybe not. I'd still like to draft one next year. But I think he's good enough to have us playing at a proper level this year and if not spectacular he'd be one hell of a backup for years to come. Arthur, I'm not really worried about his kidneys. That's the biggest question mark about him in a draft full of questionable players. I think the knicks brass want Dino starting at the 4 anyway so I'm looking at him s a back up too. Ultimately we'd be giving up a player we don't need, who barely contributes, and has a big contract for two young players who at worst will be solid backups who you can throw in at important junctures and not lose a step (all while not costing you too much). These are the type of guys who make or break a championship team. I'm coming around on Dino because I'm starting to think of his as the 2nd or 3rd best player on a championship team and i'm comfortable with that.

Even though I'm setting the bar for lowery at backup doesn't mean I don't think he can be a starter. I think he can. I think he just needs to be given a chance. But I want to be realistic and think of worst case scenarios. I don't think he's a future all star, but you never know. I want to give the kid a chance and I'm think about what we're getting out of it in the very least. I think you answered your own question in terms of memphis. It's obvious that they don't know what they're doing and are just plain old dumb. They haven't made a good deal in a long time. I mean who stacks their team with 4 promising young point guards (although I see mayo as a 2) ensuring that none of them develop because they don't get playing time and have no one to pass to because they are their team's only assets (other than rudy gay).

I think we disagree on Q-Rich's value to a good team. I think he looks terrible on NY b/c there is no PG to get him the ball. He can't create his own shot and needs a PG to feed him. I thought he was great in LA and PHX where he could be a spot up shooter or if need be post up smaller guards. I also think he was one of the few guys on the team willing to stand up to Marburry and Isiah the past couple of years and actually cares about winning. I think he would have more value if it wasn't for his back issues. He is also forced to be a SF in New York and guard the other teams best guard/SF b/c Marburry and Crawford are so terrible defensively. If we get a legit pass 1st PG, and become a run-gun team I think you'll see Q-Rich's value rise exponentially.

I also thought it was his back that was the issue not his knees. Dino being the 2nd best player on a championship team is alot to ask from the guy. You are talking Paul Pierce, Scottie Pippen, Joe Dumars, Shaq (Miami), Kobe (LA with Shaq), David Robinson.

As for Arthur there were 26 other GMs terrified of his kdineys and he was still traded 3x after being drafted. At least Q-Rich has proven he can compete in the NBA with his medical issues, its alot to ask an owner to risk millions on a player who may have bad kidneys and not even give you 70 games. I wish him the best though, hopefully he will have a long and great career and be able to take care of his mom who sacrificed so much for him.

Oh and if Memphis drafted Mayo to be a 2 after already having Rudy Gay then we might as well offer them J. James for Lowery.

Skip down and the author is basically describing a David Lee - Lowry trade as the most likely scenario.

Back to you, Fixers........

Al, can you confirm this? I will cry tears of joy if they waive that cancer!!!

@Sergio

i saw this also on another rumors site as well.
i hope it is true.

i can't stand marbury.
he is and always will be...a loser

sergio, i cant get away from you- first ny post site and now here...LOL
I'm a steph fan so i wont touch those comments.
Alan, i seriously want to know how interested the knicks are in telfair. My opinion is, he would be a great fit because of his uptempo style and terrific passes. Could you find out because i heard NJ and miami are interested. We got to talk to him first-forget duhon

Lets not get ahead of ourselves with this Marbury thing, he is a cancer... But without a true point guard and with an expiring contract, we have to wait until the start of the season to make that move... He is still an asset as far as his contract goes, if we get a point guard via trade or free agency... And can't trade his contract for value that comes off the books by 2010 then buy him out... Add him in a package with Lee, and maybe we get some big time talent...

As far as Lowry, he is very talented, and is a pest defensively he actually has a Rondo factor to his game... He plays much bigger than his size, he's a great rebounder for a guard... And we will not get him for Q-Rich who's contract is large and uninsured... That scenario is laughable... David Lee could get us Lowry and a pick for the future... But more likely a player like Arthur... Which is a good trade...

The Baroness, otherwise known as Stephon Marbury West, has left Golden State. Three cheers for Don Nelson! Nellie let another self-serving, under-performing LOSER point guard take a walk.

Marbury's pouting yielded Jason Kidd in Jersey and Steve Nash in Phoenix.

The Baroness's whining produced Chris Paul in New Orleans.

And Kevin McHale's smartening up. McHale booted Classless Sebby Bassless out of Minnesota. Word has it that a pizza delivery job awaits Sebby in Italy.

I'm a little unsure about Duhon being much of a point guard for the Knicks, too. D'Antoni is the guy who thought Marcus Banks was much better than Rajon Rondo.

I know Baron Davis gets a bad rap
but he is the main reason
G.St beat Dallas and pulled the
biggest upset in nba playoff history.

i wonder would he accept a two year deal from the knicks?

he opted out for some reason..17.8 million dollars is a
big salary to walk away from.

he must really be at odds with Coach nelson

Look at the nightmare scenario being set up already with the Nets. The Knicks spending all this time and effort getting cap room and building a roster minus one superstar(Lebron) and then he goes to the Nets as a FA and we get stuck with Bosh or Wade, neither of whom will be worth it imo. Geez, can we get a break?

get baron through sign and trade for zach randolph and jared jeffries. then sign telfair and buyout marbury. trade nate robinson for a first round draft pick to a team like memphis, minnesota, or seattle who will most likly miss the playoffs so we have lottery pick then resign lee. buyout jerome james. find a taker for crawford such as toronto who will be weak in backcourt trade him for parker and grahm. then go ahead and trade curry and richardson to clevland for wally and joe smiths expiring contracts so at the end of next season our young guys will have had time devolp and we can resign lee to a 8 to 10 million a year contract and still be under the cap by about 24.768 million and then let rose contract run up so then we will be about 38 million under cap in 2010 if the salary cap is at what its projected which is 59 million and we have lee 8 to 10 mill and telfair with midlevel and robinson for about 3 to 4 mill anddanilo with about 4 million and chandler with about 3 million and sign dwayne wade and lebron move danilo to power forward since he is 6 10, 6 11
and our line up for the 2010-2011 season will be
PG: Telfair/Robinson
SG: Wade/whoever we draft or sign as backup
SF: Lebron/chandler
PF:Gallinari/Lee
C: Lee/ any one we draft or sign

barn davis is not a good player, he is a GREAT one. he has more heart and talent than all the other knicks put together, we would be blessed to have him on our team.

you guys must have been watching a different baron davis.

We would be lucky to sign D. Wade or Bosh. That is crazy to say they wouldn't be worth signing if LBJ goes to NJ. I mean they would easily be the greatest Knicks since Ewing. I hope you were joking. Baron Davis is a great talent, and don't get it twisted he is not Marburry. All that guy does is win games wherever he goes. But, his age and injury history is probably the reason we wouldn't try to get him.

@ Kid: you really think D. Lee for Lowrey is a good trade? Really? No I mean . . .really?

@ Sec11rowH,

"barn davis is not a good player, he is a GREAT one. he has more heart and talent than all the other knicks put together, we would be blessed to have him on our team"

I concur wholeheartedly.

If we could get BD, it would be a major achievement. Chances of that happening are remote at best, however.

It's amazing how much praise is heeped on mediocre players (D. Lee) and how the truly great players' achievements are overlooked.

The Baroness is a whiner, a crybaby, and a LOSER.

One series win over Dallas does not remove the CHUMP tag from The Baroness.

The Baroness is nothing more than Stephon Marbury West, another chronic underachiever and malcontent who destroys each and every franchise of which he is a member.

And Bassy Telfair's not good enough to deliver pizzas in Brooklyn. Send that punk's spoiled behind and his arsenal to deal pizzas in Italy. Let Bassy work for his relative with the big checkbook and the bad attitude.

We would be lucky to sign D. Wade or Bosh. That is crazy to say they wouldn't be worth signing if LBJ goes to NJ.

Not at all K4L. I don't care for either player and why settle? This whole plan is about getting Lebron who we know will be great in NY and a player who could bring this franchise back up. You think you can confindently say the same thing about Wade or Bosh? I can't see it. Lets hope Walsh can work magic and we're bad the next few years/lucky in the lottery so we can have a good young team for LBJ to work with.
