Walsh update as this gets more and more absurd

We have a story up on the Newsday.com sports main page about the calculated denials from the Indiana Pacers about the Donnie Walsh reports.

P.S. - @ Patrick H: Ken Berger brought up that point in his column today and it is definitely a topic of discussion. But right now I have reporting to do. I will come back on this once I have time to formulate a thoughtful blog.

NEWSFLASH:

Isiah Thomas has agreed to clean the urinals 3x a day at Penn Station to earn the balance of his contract.

1. Bryan and/or Jerry Colangelo;
2. Jerry West
3. Grunfeld

I'll take one of the above first before D. Walsh. However, over a 24 year span, his record is not shabby.

The key is: Who would DWalsh or the new Commander In Chief hire as a Coach?

From Sports Illustrated/CNN:

Many potential aides to Walsh have been rumored, but one candidate to watch is Mark Warkentien, the de facto general manager of the Nuggets in his role as vice president of basketball operations. ... Warkentien could help revive the career of troubled Knicks forward Zach Randolph, who was drafted by Warkentien for Portland, where he had his best years.

Most important is Warkentien's approach to team-building. As opposed to other GMs who prefer to build over a long period of time via the draft, he is known as an executive who believes in making moves to improve teams quickly. His input would be valuable to Walsh in New York, where expectations are always inflated and the honeymoon promises to be short.

so it goes for the life of a journalist. thanks for the updates and the redirection. who broke this report, David Aldridge?

TominMaine,

You just depressed me. A 3 yr. deal for Walsh and a GM who believes you can build a championship team in no time (because the Nuggets have won so many championships) sounds just like the Knicks under Dolan. Argh!
