Riles says Curry rumor is 'blog BS'

A story filed this afternoon by Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel said Pat Riley was asked specifically about Eddy Curry at Wednesday's practice at AmericanAirlines Arena. According to Winderman, Riley said, "Wrong. Wrong. That's a blog b.s. Not that I don't have respect for him, but that's blog b.s."

It wasn't exactly a blog, but perhaps Riles read it here during his usual morning routine, which includes a stop at the Knicks Fix to get his daily dose of "blog b.s."

The story was posted late last night on ESPN.com. It said the Heat, Knicks and Nets were talking about a trade that would send Curry to Miami, two expiring contracts (Jason Williams and Ricky Davis) to the Nets and Vince Carter to the Knicks. As it stands, the finances of that deal do not work. Williams-for-Curry straight up would be a match and make far more sense for the Knicks to get Williams, a point guard, and an expiring. But Riley made it clear he's not interested in Big Eddy.

So goes another bogus rumor. Twenty-four hours to go. I wanna be sedated.

Would've been nice to swing that 3-team deal and get Marcus Williams in the deal.

I had a feeling this trade was full of crap. Why would Riley ever want a big man who doesn't rebound or defend and can only score on the low post? And on top of that he whines while he's on the Knicks and not getting the ball. Think he's gonna be the focal point of the offense down on South Beach? C'mon.

Isiah should just sit tight, ride this season out, and prepare for unemployment.

But we know Isiah is shopping Curry and/or Zach pretty hard, right? What's Wal-Mart's slogan? Lower prices every day? Try lower prices every hour.

Is it possible to trade Isiah?

You want to be sedated now? Just wait to see how you’ll feel if Isiah has a busy night.

Here’s a Fixer quiz: Instead of all this speculation about the trades people want, I’m going to ask the opposite question: Who are some of the least desirable players Isiah might be tempted to bring to the Knicks? (What’s the most damage he can do in the next 22 hours?) I think Vince Carter is a good example of a perfect terrible trade. What other current NBA players might Isiah be tempted to bring to New York who might help win a few games in the short-term, but would be as terrible for the team in the long run? Did someone say Wally Szczerbiak?

That means you’re probably looking for players with the following traits: Past his prime streak shooter (can score some points, but not consistently). Plays no defense. Has a very long contract. (And you get extra bonus points if he’s a shoot-first point guard under six feet, one.) In other words: Isiah's ideal Knick player.

Alan,

Sedated? Try executed on the firing squad. Oops my bad, that's the fate I can only pray will happen for Zeke, the reason we're in bad shape due to his insistence on fitting squares into circles. Now I lay me down to sleep.........
