PreGame: Bobcats at Knicks

Because I notice stupid stuff like this:

Outside the Garden is a huge AD for T-Mobile. It asks: "Who Are Your Fave-5 Knicks?"

Just setting themselves up for the punchline, aren't they?

Speaking of punchlines, as we try in the pregame to discuss with Isiah Thomas the future and that whole where-do-you-go-from-here perspective, he insists there is still something left to play for. Sort of like that Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail, who, despite having his arms and legs chopped off, still goads his opponent to continue fighting.

"What are you going to do, bleed on me?"

Here's Isiah as we gently suggest a playoff push is way out of reach:

"This year isn't over for us by a longshot."

Buckle up.

Isiah is getting more delusional by the day. Just put him out of his and our misery already.

Can't wait when this clown is out.

At this point, it’s only of academic interest, because Isiah has officially trashed Chandler’s rookie season. But in ESPN's ranking of the top FIFTY rookies, Chandler has somehow slipped two spots lower than Nichols. And I’m not even positive Nichols is still in the league. What’s interesting is how many rookies are making real contributions to their teams – many chosen after Chandler. After all the bluster about Isiah’s so-called eye for talent, the truth is . . . it’s Lee. Nate’s decent, but will never be more than, at best, a sparkplug deep off the bench. And the rest of Isiah’s picks can’t even crack his own starting line-up, which is one of the least talented in the league. Not a ringing endorsement when he won’t even play them.

And now that the Knicks have beaten two terrible and one bad team, we’re going to hear the “C” word a lot. As in: Corner, see, turning the . . .

Don’t believe it. Philly and the Bobcats stink. And the best team they beat, the Wizards, are also under .500 AND were without their two best players. I think they lost to Scarsdale High School the next night.

I actually think it’s sweet that there are still a few dozen Isiah supporters left in the city. Hey, you can probably find a hundred or so lunatics who are still glad they voted for Bush. But supporting Isiah has a sadistic side to it. He really should be put out of his misery, and allowed to slink away from his last NBA job . . . and lick his wounds in shame. The man flat-out failed. He’s not up to the job. It's time to find someone who can handle it.
