Quit Happens

For those seeking a positive outlook on last night's 45-point loss to the Celtics, here's the best I can do: The game ended. There. Go hug a teddy bear and keep telling yourself things aren't as bad as they seem.

That is like a steward on the Titanic telling the captain, "At least the bow is still afloat."

For everyone else who can see the disaster the Knicks are, the most telling statements after the game came not from a Knicks player, but from Kevin Garnett. In his postgame interview with TNT's Craig Sager, KG was asked about Stephon Marbury.

"I don't know, Steph's different from how he was in Minnesota," Garnett said. "You just don't come out and quit. You got to have a reaason or someone has to make you quit."

That sounded like concern from an opponent who was shocked his team could beat another with such ease.

Quit? That's a dangerous accusation. No player would ever dare to admit it. Neither would a coach who knows there is no recovery from such a place.

Quite frankly, I don't think the Knicks quit with intention. This was more like surrendering a fight they realized they had no chance of winning. A poor shooting start put them down quickly and they subconsciously gave up after that. When Isiah Thomas went to his second unit, it was already too late. Not enough offense, too little defense.

I think Eddy Curry is front-and-center in this one. His was the one matchup you would say the Knicks should dominate. Instead, Curry made Kendrick Perkins look like Bill Russell. Curry had several early touches on the post and showed no interest in banging Perkins deep and going up strong. The jump hooks were as half-hearted as they were off the mark. I mean, a 6-11, 285 pound man is settling for jump hooks while his team is down by 12...14...16...18...?

At least while Zach Randolph was missing several of his shots against Garnett, Randolph made aggressive attempts to grab some rebounds against KG. Curry was practically invisible and never seemed emotionally into making a difference for his team.

The good news is, the Knicks get to play again tonight. The bad news is, the Knicks have to play again tonight. The Bucks are healthy, which means they're not the walkover they were considered last season. How will the backcourt of Marbury and Jamal Crawford do against Mo Williams and Michael Redd? If it is anything like last night in Boston, when neither did much to get through screens, be very afraid.

You would think, as professionals, these players have too much pride to lay down once again, especially at home, especially a night after getting their doors blown off by 45 in front of the entire NBA nation. You would think the Knicks have it in them to show something tonight against the Bucks.

You would also think the owner of this team has to eventually reach a point where reality of where this team is outweighs the fantasy of what Thomas has tried to convince us it could be. There is undoubtedly a deep-seeded problem here, which I personally think is more than the simple idea that Thomas and Marbury don't get along or the rest of the team is still upset about Phoenix.

The problem is a lack of leadership, which results in a lack of accountability. I actually like about 80 percent of this group. They have a core of excellent role players, guys who would be great foot soldiers if the team had one main component, an all-star entitity around which the rest revolve. The Celtics had that same problem until Garnett arrived. He set a standard there that everyone follows and now suddenly Paul Pierce is a winner, Doc Rivers is a great coach and Danny Ainge is a genius.

Who sets the standard for these Knicks?

Going to the game tonight. WIll be rowdy with the boos and "Fire Isiah!" chants. The end is coming!

Don't be hating on Isiah, you Isiah Hater!!!! He's awesome. Knicks have a great team with NAME guys like Marbury, Crawford, Zach, Eddy. I wish there was a sarcasm font.

Seriously though, what is up with David Lee? He doesn't look right. I figured he would have dominated garbage time but looked slow against guys like Glen Davis.

After the Celtic loss Isiah asked "Let's see how we respond ?" I already know the answer!!! Anyone with half a basketball brain that has followed his four year, unprecedented in any sport, disgraceful reign as boss of the NYK has the answer for him.......LIKE A DEAD CAT BOUNCING.....and that's only if they're lucky!

I'd argue the team DOES have a leader who sets the tone. Unfortunately for them (and us), the leader is Marbury, and we all know what sort of tone he sets.

It's too bad Q has looked awful this season, because if he were able to contribute more on the court, I think he has the type of personality that could motivate the squad, in Marbury's absence. Same goes for Malik Rose, but his skills have deteriorated to the point that the younger guys probably no longer listen to him (if they ever did).

I'm starting to wonder if the Knicks shouldn't have brought Oakley back. Of course, he wouldn't add much to the lineup, but he's the one link to the past who could have instilled some Knick pride in this bunch.

Last year, I was surprised that Isiah was able to get through to his players – seemingly, both individually and collectively. They were far from great. But they seemed to care about each other and what they were doing. They played with energy and they may have been reckless sometimes, but at least they were trying.

I don’t understand how everything has turned around so completely. Don’t tell me it’s the trial, because I almost expected the trial to have the opposite effect, and make the team rally behind their coach again. Well, that clearly didn’t happen. I wonder if Stephon could be the problem in more ways than we’d imagined. Certainly he himself is a problem both on and off the court. I also wonder, however, whether the rest of the roster has turned Isiah off because they perceive him as having favored Stephon over the years? Obviously, this is pure speculation. But we know that Stephon has always had enemies in that locker room. I wonder if Isiah is losing the team, at least partly, due to guilt by association.

I need to administer some forearm shivers to Matador Marbury's grill...snap that sourpuss into shape!

Trane,
Your assessment is spot on IMHO. Isiah and Marbury are like a two headed monster. I think the team kind of accepted it and suppressed their resentment. Once Marbury walked out in Phoenix, the kettle exploded so to speak and the team quit.

It is remarkable Isiah wasn't fired immediately after that game last night. Dolan truly never matured out of being the petulant pre-adolescent son of a billionaire. Its pretty despicable and I am officially in a state of revulsion.

Seems this website had someone who correctly identified the weakness of Marbury, Curry, Randolph and Thomas prior to the start of the season. For his accuracy, Alan Hahn banned him from the site. Guess there's always Isles hockey.

Isiah has no pride in his coaching and VP position. A coach should never except an outing by his team like that. I would rather him rip his team publicly than defend them on a pathetic outing. Isiah and the players have no pride at all. They don't have any Knick/NY pride. Get a coach, GM, and players that have pride and not just wait for their paycheck to arrive and maybe people will cheer again. When I saw Steph smiling with a towel on his head as if he was mocking his own team I said we hit an all time low. These players need to go as bad as Isiah. Will firing him help. Not immediately. In fact, I would think that team will lose further and reach pathetic lows. Trade Crawford, Marbury, Curry, Richardson, James, Rose, Lee, Collins. Zbo has to new a contract to be traded. Knicks/Cablevision can buy their way out of sex lawsuit. They can buy their way out of this national basketball mockery.

For the record, everyone here knew the team had weaknesses and strengths. A roster with some talent, but still many holes. For most of us, these issues were discussed in a balanced, objective way. Opinions get nobody banned. It wasn’t even that the opinions were relentlessly boring, self-aggrandizing and, often, just plain wrong. As it was explained to the blog, abuse and abuse alone warrants banishment. Ultimately, we can’t take credit. It was a self-inflicted injury.

You guys need a point guard? How about someone to lead you all in prayer?

Two things, Al-

First off Curry aint no 285 are you kidding? Try 315+

Ever see a rookie pic of him when he WAS 285? Compare it to him now. Yes, maybe 315 is too low of a guess.

Second: Titanic bow still afloat? Stern my good man, the STERN!

I Enjoy your blogs as always...........

Hey look guys....head over to the Knicks page at RealGM. We're organizing a protest in front of the Garden this week and we mean business. I honestly think it would generate a lot of attention if we had enough people there....the media would be all over it....ESPN included which would be huge. (Think of the Orioles fans at Camden Yards)

It's one of the best ways I can think of to make a statement to this organization, and help embarass them even more (as if a 50 point blow out isnt enough) until they finally make the much needed changes around here. Like I said, head over there and check out the thread about the protest. We want as much input as possible. Anyone who lives in NY or near by that is willing to head to MSG for a couple hours to take a stand....dont be hesitant. We're serious.

Like I said, if we have enough people (im talking hundreds)....this will no doubt garner plenty of attention and will be well worth it in the end IMO. What are your thoughts Alan?

I watched 'Inside The NBA' after the game last night (yep, I'm a masochist) and was surprised to hear Craig Sager say that Thomas was threatening a lineup shakeup if the team didn't show a better effort tonight.

Um, WTF???

That lineup just played the second-worst Knicks game in history and he was giving them another chance?

Thomas should have announced that every starting spot had been revoked and a new starting lineup would be announced at game time tonight.

If anything illustrates how little clout Thomas has left with this team, it's the fact that he is plain scared to bring the hammer down on a team that phoned it in on national TV.

I'm glad you called out Curry, Alan. He and Jamal seem to get a free pass with the media because 1) they're both really sweet people, and 2) Isiah and Steph are much bigger, easier, more obvious targets. But when those guys play poorly, the Knicks lose. And they are probably the two least competent defenders in the NBA. Rondo had 4 quick buckets in the first quarter. Who was guarding him? (It's a trick question - the answer is "Nobody").

Curry was like a human-shaped helping of cotton candy last night. He should have received the ball on the block, backed down his defender, turned around and dunked on every single possession. Instead he kept floating those lame jump hooks. He might as well have been taking Jordan-esque fadeaways.

At one point in the third quarter he appeared to secure an offensive board (because there was no one near him), only to have the ball squib from both his hands and lead to a Boston transition three-pointer. How does he not pull that rebound down? Where was his heart? Where was his pride?

Despite his two blocks against Utah, he still let Deron Williams waltz through the lane and sky for a one-handed tomahawk. No way Patrick Ewing or Charles Oakley would have let Deron get anywhere near the rim. You put that guy on the floor, so the next time he beats his defender (which you know he will) he pulls up for the jumper instead. Eddy needs to develop that mentality - it has to make him angry every time an opposing player dunks on the Knicks.

I like Eddy Curry, I really do, the way you like any soft, cuddly teddy bear. I practically wept when I read about his home invasion last summer, no kidding, because something that horrific shouldn't happen to anyone, let alone someone as sweet and good natured as Eddy.

But he needs to be cured of that good nature when he's on the court. He needs to take pride in his team, and in his game. And he needs to hear it from the reporters and the fans, and stop hiding behind the three-ring media circus of Dolan-Thomas-Marbury.

Does David Lee have any worth any more? can we trade him?

he has lost a step

What would the 8th seed in the playoffs bring us? Pride. Respect.
The Knicks have two choices: always fight for the last place in the playoffs or really rebuild. You need the cap space to sign a big time free agent, assets to trade for one, or a top lottery pick to turn a franchise around.

If the Knicks were young and played hard like the hawks this season would it be that bad to be a fan. The names and contracts on this team say "we are supposed to win". They need to go. I would rather watch that second unit play hard for 2 years and have a top lottery pick than keep this team together. No leadership, no heart, no basketball IQ. Trade Curry, Crawford, and Marbury for cap space and draft picks.

As far as Isiah goes, keep em. If we replace him a new GM is going to feel the need to win now with no assets keep us strapped in the cap and 8th seed hell. Rebuild now! Let Isiah develop and draft players. Shoot for the top 3 picks. Then hire a new coach in two years.

I'd rather lose with effort and fight than the way those egos surrendered last night. Unwatchable. If no goes to the games for 2 years, so what? We'd make our money back by just being at the salary cap level for two seasons. They'll return when we win. Like they should.

After Wilkens was fired and Williams took over the Knicks lost 20_games by 3 points or less. Everyone agreed what was needed was a veteran coach and they signed LB, who proceeded bench all rookies and (Lee, Frye, Nate) so guys like Mo taylor and Antonio davis could play.. Herb might not be a bad move now. Isiah linked his success to Marbury. He was his first major trade. the plan was have he and allan Houston in the BC but we never got a chance to see it. when the guy that's suppopsed to be your team leader doesn't show respect for the coach (as Marbury did by leaving the team), what is left for Isiah to do, quit? Isiah picked the wrong player to get close to.. you know in Marbury's mind he thinks he won last week .... he's back to starting

If no goes to the games for 2 years, so what? We'd make our money back by just being at the salary cap level for two seasons. They'll return when we win. Like they should.

Sure, that's acceptable to you and me. Hell, I'd even watch them when they were terrible (I watch them now!).

But that assumes that low ticket sales would be acceptable to Dolan, and we've seen zero evidence that Dolan cares about anything but ticket sales.

This organization has been doing the same thing for so long - signing marginal NBA 'name' players for stupid amounts of money in order to keep fan interest at a consistent (albeit low) level - that there probably isn't anyone in the organization that knows any other way to do it.

The Celtics have done the probing that me and my colleagues should have done while searching these guys insides to see if they had the GUTS to be real men.

PLEASE FIRE MY DAD!

If Isiah is fired what's that gonna prove? Is the team gonna play better with an interim coach? You can't find a good coach who will take the reigns right now at this point in the season especially with no team President in place. A new coach knows a new team president will want to bring in his own coach. All we can do is wait out the season and either get better or get a high draft pick and then start making moves in the off season. Isiah is to blame for what happens on the court but he had good intentions. He turned that old, capped-out roster into young athletes but they just don't play well together, He gambled that these guys would turn the corner since they all are so young and they just might but probably not on this team. I for one happen to like having young drafted players on the Knicks these days (name me one Knick draft pick since Mark Jackson in 1989 that actually did something, anything, for us). We never drafted good players during the glory years of the 90's and we're paying for it now. Having said that it's obvious this just isn't working right now but I don't see how punishing Isiah by firing him now will help us right now in any way. After the season is more logical.

Forget the cap. Among the many drawbacks, there is only one advantage to having Dolan as the team’s owner – namely, that he doesn’t care how much money he spends. As a result, we should keep doing what Zeke’s been doing – if he has to take a bad contract or two with the player he wants, take it. Then cut him. Whatever. It’s the only way this team is going to get better at this point. We can’t gamble that there will be a confluence of 1) our ability to get under the cap, 2) the right free agent available, who’s 3) interested in playing in NY . . . all at the same time. It’s too much of a long-shot. Might as well spend Dolan’s money . . . it’s the only thing he’s good for. And forget about getting under the cap. It’s an abstract report on the health of the team (unless it’s your money, of course). We should realize some benefit from having him as the owner.

Can't wait for tonights game.....I hope Dolan and his counterpart Steve Mills sit in their chairs til the final buzzer......Listening to the fans scream those two words we've been longing to hear...FIRE ISIAH...This pathetic coach/gm/scout evaluator/harasser/shoulg get everything he deserves.........the door from the Garden and the NBA for good.......Keep those pearly whites shiny.you cant fool anyone ever again!!!!

I don't want to be here as much as you guys don't want me here, but Jimmy D hasn't gotten the picture. I really don't know what else I have to do to get fired. I mean, I spent money the company didn't have, created the biggest payroll in the league without getting to the playoffs. I traded away a lottery pick for a fat guy with a heart problem, brought in a historical loser as my point guard, sexually harassed employees - putting the company's millions and reputation at stake, benched my star only to see him go awol, ignored the unanimous vote by the team and let him play the next day, and now lost by almost 50 points on national television. I really don't know what else I can do? Do I need to take a big steaming dump at half-court tonight before Jim realizes that this is it? Please give me some suggestions.

Sincerely,

Coach

Yes, the players quit last night. They were down 50, and I honestly think most teams would. Not excusable, but it really can happen to anyone.

The question for me is- why did they quit?

After much thought, I blame Isiah the coach. Time and time again, the Knicks tried to feed the post. Q, Curry, Randolph all put up double digit shots in a VERY low minutes, basically shooting us out of the game. Even my girlfriend noticed (who barely watches basketball) that Boston COLLAPSED on every interior play. I saw one play where Curry was literally swarmed by 4 defenders, throwing up a wild shot that went nowhere.

I think Isiah told them to keep pounding the ball inside, the players trusted their coach, and it continued to not work. I can understand guys giving up in that situation.

I wish we would have at least given Crawford a chance to shoot us out of the hole, because we were clearly not going to overpower their guys 1v5 on the inside.

Overall, a terrible loss, terrible night, and a terrible effort. I'm going to the Bucks game tonight. The team is going to hear it from me until they earn back some respect.

Knick ball!

I agree with your assessment - teams know by now that the plan is pound the ball down low, and they also know that once the ball goes inside it doesn't come back out, either because Curry can't pass out or ZBo will try to put up a shot with 3 guys hanging off him.

They know that unless Curry gets off early, he will have a bad night. and they know since the inside-out game is non-existent, our perimeter shooters are no threat at all.

What surprises and frustrates me is there is no Plan B. Every team in the league has got our game figured out, and Thomas can't come up with an alternative to what amounts to a bad plan.

@ knick ball!

I agree with you too -- and Crawford actually made a few of his typical ill-advised shots last night.

Also, anybody else laugh sickly when that near-half-court shot Nate's been practicing (and Alan's been needling) since the summer managed to save the ultimate embarrassment of setting a new all-time low? Kind of a metaphor for the past few weeks.

Make sure to go to www.fireisiah.com starting tomorrow. Spread the word and support our cause!!!

(I'm sorry this is so long winded that game last night just pushed me to the edge)
I quit, I have followed the knicks like a foolish maniac and invested far too much energy in the affairs of selfish and lazy millionaires. Every off-season I scan all the paper's hoping for a trade that will finally salvage the team that I care so much about. During the season I eagerly jump on the knicks rollercoaster watching them show great flashes of potential and then quickly regress into they're unwatchable, unintelligent, and seemingly unstructured style of basketball. I have managed to stomach this through the awful layden years and through the now equally awful thomas era. But at this point jim dolan and his cabal of knuckleheads has finally lost me.

I watched that game last night and I was just dumbfounded at what I saw. First, eddy curry is perhaps the laziest big man I think I have ever seen. He does not even make a pretense of playing defense allows penetrators to swoop past him without even a show of effort, not to mention his complete inability to rebound which is incredible for a 6-11 man. For a big man with a supposed heart condition his lack of conditioning is shocking if having an enlarged heart can't motivate you to better health I don't know what can. Not to say curry is responsible for all the defensive woes this team has but having a center or power forward who is incapable of challenging penetration just exacerbates the incredibly inept defense of marbury and crawford. Last night marbury got easily beat to the basket by ray allen. I can understand if ray allen managed to exploit him by shooting over him but out quicking him to the basket is just disgusting and completely unacceptable.
On the offensive end they are just as awful. The ball goes to the big men and the rest of the team stands around and watches. They make half-hearted cuts or stand around the perimeter. When that does'nt work the guards dominate the ball and shoot 19 footers atwhich they're inconsistent at best. It just seems like a mismatched team with no leadership and completly incompatible skills, and a point guard who cannot make his teammates better.
At best this cast of characters is a mediocre team and an easy out in the playoffs and after 7 years of this that is not worth wasting my time on. As much as it hurts me I am gonna stop watching until they A) fire isaih and B) make all the player's accountable which judging by curry's effort and marbury's attitude is not being addressed. or C) dismantle this ugly juggernaut and tank for a couple of years which is something that should have happened long ago. Which leads me too a question for all of you out there. The knicks are loaded with big unmovable contracts but also talented cheap younger players. By pairing the ugly contracts with the young commodities I think you could remove alot of the junk on the roster (marbury, crawford, curry, jefferies, james) and start over. I just think if were gonna suck anyways lets junk it lower expectations and hope for the future. Until then I quit

Long time reader, first time poster.

First, all the hatred towards the "Media" is pretty amusing. THEY didn't make this team terrible.

Second, forget his so-called agenda, Isola is the best Knick beat writer, period, end of discussion. He's a reporter, not a pr flack.

Third, this is the best blog on the Knicks. Writing a good blog is a different animal than writing for the paper and Alan just gets it. Good beat reporter, but the blog is where he shines.

Fourth, forget Marbury, forget Isiah, forget the whole team. The problem with the Knicks is Dolan. As long as he's running it, it doesn't matter who they bring in. Bottom line is that he is destroying an important NYC institution.

Yes, he owns the team but that doesn't mean he owns the idea of the Knicks, the Knicks we love, the Knicks who existed before Cablevision and who will continue to exist long after Dolan is gone. We the fans own those Knicks and I think it's high time we asserted ourselves.

We can't make Dolan sell the franchise but I bet we can at least banish him from the house.

So starting tonight, whenever Dolan shows up at the Garden, let's serenade him with chants of "Dolan Sucks". Forget "fire Isiah", forget booing Marbury; let's direct our wrath at the person who deserves it!

Repeat after me: 'DOLAN SUCKS!" "DOLAN SUCKS!" "DOLAN SUCKS!"

Let's see how many games it takes until he stops showing up. Together, as one, united in Knick Fandom, we can make this happen.

Swami

PS Dear Fellow Bloggers, just a reminder, paragraphs are allowed. And ALL CAPS MAKE YOU SOUND CRAZY (if you are crazy, well, then it's alright.) If you're going to bother to "write" something, try to write it coherently. Trane, Don and a few others excepted.

Look! Alan you hit the nail on the head...They have NO LEADER...I will suggest that if the best player does not "buy-in" to what the coach is selling, you will NEVER win!

That being said, Marbury is the biggest issue....He is NOT a leader...He does not hold his team accountable because HE is not accountable! Getting rid of Stephon will not solve the problems, but it will go a long, long way towards putting this team on the right path!

Problem is, we don't have a head on the floor.

Hahn and his comments on the Knicks beat is being mentioned on Mike and the Mad Dog.

THE HIP HOP MANTRA IS "KEEP IT REAL"...

SO LETS KEEP IT REAL...THE KNICKS ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT RIGHT NOW!

i got friends in Boston and they have been killing me about the knicks for weeks and i took it in stride and my retort was..."wait until we play the Celtics in the real season".

WELL IT IS THE REAL SEASON AND WE GOT BEAT BY 45 POINTS...45 POINTS!
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
IT SOUNDS UNREAL...LIKE A SCORE OFF OF NBA LIVE 08 OR SOMETHING.ONLY THING WORSE WAS IT WAS NATIONAL TV ON TNT FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE...

ISIAH HAS GOT TO GO!
AND I WISH HE COULD TAKE DOLAN WITH HIM...

HOW CAN YOU BE A FAN OF THE NEW YORK KNICKS AND NOT FEEL HOPELESS.
THEY HAVE NO PRIDE!

@swami...

DOLAN SUCKS

DOLAN SUCKS

DOLAN SUCKS

i sit pretty close to him, he will hear me.

The people PAYING MONEY TO SEE THESE QUITTERS MUST WALK OUT ON THIS TEAM THAT HAS WALKED OUT ON US FANS, IT MUST BE MORE THAN JUST BOOS, WE NEED TO SEND A MESSAGE FINANCIALLY TO THE BILLIONAIRES WHO RUN THIS DISGUSTING PIECE OF GARBAGE. THE RICH ONLY UNDERSTAND MONEY, LAST SEASON THE KNICKS WERE TOP 8 IN ATTENDANCE, THIS SEASON , ATTENDANCE IS STARTING OFF BETTER THAN LAST, I REALLY NEED TO CALM MYSELF DOWN TO AVOID SAYING THINGS THAT ARE HEARTLESS AND EVIL BUT THE WAY THIS TEAM QUIT ON US WE SHOULD TAKE IT PERSONAL, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE UNIFORM THEY WEAR. I MISS KELVIN CATO, HE MAY NOT HAVE HAD THE SKILL BUT HE HAD THE WILL. MARBURY IS A LIAR AND ANOTHER SAD CHAPTER OF A BOY WHO NEVER BECAME A MAN. MAN MAKES MONEY, MONEY DOESN'T MAKE A MAN. EDDY CURRY IS THE EPITOME OF A COWARD, AFRAID OF HIS OWN SHADOW, AFRAID OF HIS OWN POTENTIAL AND THE RESPONSIBLITY THAT COMES WITH IT. CRAWFORD IS PERFECT FOR THE RUCKER LEAGUE AND ISIAH HAS FOREVER TARNISHED HIS LEGACY, THIS IS HOW HE'LL BE REMEMBERED, WORSE THAN LARRY BROWN. PARDON MY BABBLING BUT I'M IN MORNING, I JUST LOST THE TEAM I LOVED.

I'M ON MY WAY TO THE GARDEN TO STOP THE TRENDY FANS FROM SUPPORTING THE POCKETBOOKS OF IMPOSTERS.
STAY TUNED TRUE BELIEVERS, THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING

SWAMI...IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY CAPS THEN YOU CAN GOTO HELL BECAUSE THIS TEAM'S HEART AND WILL ARE FAR WORSE THAN MY CAPS SO YOU BETTER START PAYING ATTENTION TO THE REAL PROBLEM OR I'LL KICK YOUR *SS, AND YOU CAN FIND ME IN FRONT OF THE GARDEN FROM 6-8 PM TRYING TO DISCOURAGE FANS FROM WATCHING THESE PARASITES.

I'LL BE WEARING ALL BLACK WITH A TAN TURTLENECK.

Swami Dev, great post, great comments, great thoughts.

First, it is crazy to blame the media for the garbage that is the Knicks. They have been terrible since Ewing was traded, and now they are terrible and a national joke. Isiah is poor GM, and a terrible coach. Marbury has lost everywhere he's been and he continues to lose. Dolan is the main problem, but we can't force him to sell. However, maybe he can be forced to hire a strong leader and take a back seat.

Also, Alan's blog and the Fixer community is by far the best Knicks'water cooler around town. I think Isola does a credible job covering the team, but he has become very bitter. Berman is an apologist for the regime and Beck just gives the news and nothing but the news.

Oh, and the Knicks will win tonight. They are playing an average Bucks team and they will be playing for their basketball lives.

However, they will lose about 50 games this year.

I think this team has 30-52 all over it and that might be the best case scenario. This team has good individual talents, no team players or leaders, not enough winning and defensive-minded players.

Now the players all have turned their backs on Isiah so everyone can't stand him...except Dolan as of now.

If Knicks win tonight, I guarantee you Isiah will spin the winning 3 out of last 4 line and Knicks have taken a step forward again.

MY PLAN:
1. get marbury out of here after this season, someone will take him. hey i bet lebron would like having steph on the floor.

2. see what u can get for curry. hes heartless. no intensity. athletic at 6-11 280lbs and he blocks 40 shots a season? get out of here. bye bye eddy.

3. stock pile on 2nd round selections for international picks. go san antonio of everyone. have guys coming over every couple years ready to supplement.

4. look for disgruntled players who want to be moved
1. Pau Gasol.. monster. stock has dropped a little. would sell my left nut to have him.
2. Andre Kiralenko - dont let the start fool you, he wants out.
3. Corey Maggette - Scorer, scorer, jacked, scorer.
4. Ron Artest - F*CK FREDRIC WIES

5. after we win another 30 games this season well fall into a top 5 spot (aka we'll get one of these guys.. Beasley, Koufus. Rose, Mayo, Deandre Jordan)

Players knicks have to look for on benches of teams after this season
1. Josh Childress - never got a shot to play really, they have so many wings there. (side note: ANDRE MILLER IN ATL WOULD MAKE THEM A TOP 4 SQUAD. MAKES SENSE FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED)
2. Von Wafer - this is a weird one i know, but how much better has he gotten the past 2 seasons.
3. Randolph Morris - OH WAIT HES ON OUR TEAM. PLAY HIM PLEASE.
4. Thaddeus Young - planted on the bench there. get him while hes still raw.. imagine carney young iguodala williams at full potential. explosive potential
5. Andray Blatche - can cover 3-5 and has range. blocks shots.
6. Ian Mahinmi - athletic monster, 7 footer with a freak vertical.. as raw as sushi though.
7. Saer Sene - (see ian mahinmi)
8. Charlie Villanueva - dunno why he gets hated on, hes a skilled baller. then again i havent seen him much. get the man a wig.
9. Monta Ellis - highly doubt they'd give him up, but that squad is pretty deep.
10. Gerald Green - still getting no burn on a terrible team
11. Adam Morrison - seemed as if they were down on him (see: carroll contract)
12. Nick Fazekas - skilled big man, never had a chance yet
13. Sergio Rodreguiez - wizard with the rock. skilled PG. undersized. have a slew of PGs in front of him (roy, blake, jack)
14. Thabo Sefolosha - ill take doug christie JR please, give them a scorer better skilled balkman (not good skills.. just better than hustle harder)
15. Louis Williams - "LET LOUIS WILLIAMS LIVE"

I heard David Wingate was going to be in town for a tryout. Sounds like things are starting to turn in the right direction.

is it really possible that EDDIE CURRY SUCKS SO BAD???!!!!!if i were his coach, and he flipped up ONE shot, i would bench his ass for a quarter. the next time he did it, i would bench him for a game. if he did it again i would only play him in garbage time for the next 2 weeks. eddie "cotton" curry need to be taught that he has one purpose in life: to dunk a basketball over smaller people.

it is so simple. repeat after me eddie:

I WILL NEVER FLIP THE BALL UP, I WILL ONLY DUNK OVER SMALLER PEOPLE

I WILL NEVER FLIP THE BALL UP, I WILL ONLY DUNK OVER SMALLER PEOPLE
