The Isiah vs. Anucha trial is in it's second day and that's already two days longer than I or anyone else expected it would go. I seriously doubt there is much interest in this case from most Knicks fans. The only interest you might have -- other than what craziness might come out of Stephon Marbury's mouth when he takes the witness stand -- is if to see what might happen to Isiah Thomas if the jury finds him guilty of sexual harrassment.
![]()
Would James Dolan fire him on the spot? If so, who would take over as coach and GM with less than three weeks until training camp?
First things first, let's dismiss any thought that Dolan would instantly gas Isiah if he is found guilty. Why? Because Dolan would also be among the guilty party mainly because he is also named, along with Thomas, in the suit. If Dolan had any concern about Thomas' actions, don't you think he would have already fired Thomas and settled with Anucha?
Isiah's job security was a question for about a month last season. Dolan made it clear he had no interest in making a regime change, no matter what.
So, in my opinion, Isiah stays whether he is found guilty or not. There's no need to move to the second part of the question or theorize Herb Williams' move into the interim head coach position again and Glen Grunwald moving into the GM seat. There's no reason to speculate Phil Jackson making a move to New York (and awaiting Kobe) or luring Rick Pitino back where his short-lived NBA coaching career thrived.
Many people still expect this to end in a settlement. WolfBlock labor and employment attorney Michael Cohen had a public relations company send out emails offering his opinion on the subject.
“To prevail on the sexual harassment claim Browne Sanders will have to convince the jury not only that what she says is true but that it rises to the level of a hostile working environment, which may be difficult for her to do,” Cohen says in the email. “Less subjective is the retaliation claim. These are often harder to overcome, since juries are predisposed to believing claims like Browne Sanders in the absence of supporting documentation like performance reviews.”
What you're going to read about tomorrow are the opening statements from each side, which includes much of what you've already read about in the newspapers once the arguments for each side became public documents. It's the cross-examinations that could get interesting, but only from a tabloid point-of-view. It's nothing more than dirty laundry and that's what makes it so surprising to me that the Garden, mainly mediaphobe Jim Dolan, would allow this to carry on for more than a week.
That's why I believe it will be business as usual come Oct. 1. By then we'll be wondering what it will cost to rid them of their next problem: Jerome James' contract.
* *
Allan Houston worked out today for a few NBA teams at the New York Athletic Club. The Miami Heat seem the most interested, as are the Cleveland Cavaliers. But you should know that the Knicks and Nets were both represented at the workout. I still don't believe the Knicks have great interest in Houston, who says he probably can only give about 15-to-20 minutes a game.

Like a fellow blogger alluded to in a previous post. It's possible that Dolan might genuinely believe that IT wasn't involved in any form of harrasment against Anucha Brown. And by what's been suggested in AH most recent Post it seems that a singel incident or scattered incidents are likely not sufficient to produce the "Hostile Work Environment" AH alluded to.
Being that it seems like IT will not be given the Ax and has Dolan's backing-- if perhaps complicity even-- I wonder what impact will any media scrutiny have should the organization's dirty laundry be aired? If in particular Browne wins the corrollary claim of discriminatory discharge, what impact will that have on the perception of the team by Non Knick fans? Will the team rally around each other in an us against the world mindset or will the result of the trial--barring settlement-- undermine team morale?
What do the Fixer's think?
HEY NOW IS A GOOD TIME FOR ISIAH TO MAKE A BIG TRADE THAT HE;S BEEN WORKING ON SINCE THE 28TH OF AUG.SO THE MEDIA COULD FOCUS ON THAT INSTEAD OF THESE ALLEGATIONS YOU NO THE NY. MEDIA IS TUFF AND WONT LET UP SO TIMING IS EVERYTHING AND ITS A GOOD TIME NOW TO DROP A BLOCKBUSTER WHAT DO U GUYS THINK?
My boy, Balkman is hyped about hyping us up. Check it out!!
Nice to see you back Hahn!
Don't call it a comeback!
The POLICE:
Yup, they don't call me "Metastases" Mak for nothing.
Kindly goog that M word if you need help.
Is this Mr. Coward again? Take care of yourself.
Let's talk b.ball and don't start any garbage in here.
@Hoz the Knicks
I posted the same comment a few days ago. What could stop the media more than "ARTEST COMING TO TOWN"...Bad Boy and all. Great time to trade and get ready for the season. The Lawyers will handle all the legal stuff in court.
@Orange and Blue
I hope this does motivate an "us against the world" thing for the Knicks players. Already they are believed to be "Overpaid","not talented","won't make the playoffs" team that most people LOVE 2 HATE.
Go New York,Go New York, Go!!
David Loves Thoses Knicks
You guys are so funny. Anything to get Artest to town. I'm with you guys, launch the diversion now.
I trully think that Artest is the better alternative for NY before Kobe. You would have to decimate the team to get Kobe. We'd have no bench and no center. I don't think thats too bright even if it does net us the best player in the game. You want to tinker w/ the vision not blow it up.
JQ
Do you have another plan to get him here?
How about this......
Give Anucha the 10 mill THEN send her and a 2010 1st round pick to SAC for RonRon.
Can we trade Anucha for Ronny straight up ?????
hahahahahahha
@ DLT Knicks
Couldn't agree more with your contention that the Knicks should rally and close ranks against the forces that seek to undermine them.
I recall how the Knicks went on a winning streak and a show of some much needed heart after the Brawl with Yellow Mellow and his Denver Nuggets. And if I recall correctly that little run came at the heels of some crapy press about IT's decision to have MC foul the Nugget player's for running the score up on the Knicks.
THe suggestion that Zeke pull off a trade to land Artest to steal the Press's venom is priceless. I don't know how likely it is that such a trade could happen at this time but it would be serrendipitous b/c it would shut up the ugly hate machine that inhabits the NY Metro area.
Go New York Go, Indeed!
@Orange and Blue
Yea, you are right, the Knicks did really atfer the brawl....still hate Mello for the "sucker-punch-and-run" thing.Do you remember it was "Little Nate" that chased him back. How weak was that?
DLT:
Yup what I hated was that despite the fact that little Nate stepped up to show his loyalty to the team that show of loyalty was discounted by many.
Nate's a unique talent, perhaps due to his duminutive size he might never be taken seriously as a legitimate NBA player let alone a point gaurd- despite his efforts this summer to work on that aspect of his game. But the fact that this little dude took down a player taller than himself in that melee was way more preferable than have the Image of J Kidd of the Nets standing over our back up PG Frank in the ill fated playoff series we had a couple of years ago.
The teams character is taking a turn for the better and the teams not getting pushed around as in the past. Heck given that change in atmosphere I thought a good thing to add a character like Zach Randolph who plays with a chip on his shoulder and a confidence lacking in ECity.
Winning is not just talent its a mentality and I believe it starts with not wanting to put up with shyte from others when they disrespect you or your team. To that end I like Thomas' call to have MCollins foul hard.
Freakin Media is like jeckle and Hyde they want us to be a winning team but get on the team when they start showing the semblance of a winning attitude.
@Orange and Blue
Don't like George Karl either, he knows better than that, having your starters on the floor,in a blow out, with less than 2 minutes to go, after a long road trip. He was backing up his N.C. bubby LB for being fired. Zeke would NEVER have EC on the floor in that situation. He knew better and he paid 4 it. Mello should be KICKED off the USA team too. All those commericals about the "character" of USA B-Ball,"representing" our country with his "sucker punch style"........now I'm getting mad.
Anyway, Nate
Good person, great skills, needs to listen a little more.He needs to change the game off the bench with his style. Needs to fight hard for the back up point guard spot.Big time fan.....so is the wife.He is her favorite and she has only been in the country for 10 months.
I'm out.....holla back later
BARF - Thanks for that Balkman link.
That kid just rocks. Glad to have him here in NY.
Rush
I was and still am a believer that Sean Williams will be a monster in this league, but it was Davonn that was emphatic about Williams and I totaly agree with Davonn Jackson Bryant, 100% this one time!. I was emphatic about Morris Almond and Herbert Hill! But as BARF pointed out you got Da wrong guy! So rush, you owe me some Maple Syrup! LOL
DID U GUYS CATCH THE JAMAL CRAWFORD ANKLE INTERVIEW ON FATHERKNICKERBOCKER.COM HE SAID THE REHAB WAS FINE AND HE BEEN WORKING OUT ALL SUMMER AND DO U GUYS THINK ISIAH SHOULD ENTER THE SHAWN MARION SWEEPSTAKES AND WHO WOULD U TRADE FOR HIM?
I WOULD TRADE MALIK ROSE JARRED JEFFRIES AND NATE ROBINSON THATS 3 FOR 1
I BELIVE THOSE SALARIES ADD UP
this post we are all responding to has to be the least Alan Hahnesque, most Frank Isolaesque post I've ever read on this blog.
I hope I'm wrong and I also hope blog cancers from the other site stay away because many of us came here to avoid all the trite racist bs.
I'm all for buying out Jerome, I'm tired of looking at that jerk on the bench. Along with Malik, neither one of them should see any day light, make room for the young guys, save some money on the Luxury tax (sign D Nicholas).
peace/davonn,
sean williams wasn't there when the knicks pick, so why pine for him? yes we could have used a talented shot blocker, but new jersey got him so now he is the enemy.
Yeah Starburyfan,
He is the enemy Now! My point was never to pine for him, I was just correcting rush on his comment to me about something I can't take credit for on draft day! What I am pineing for is for the Knicks to step up as a team, make the deal for Artest now as long as it doesn't include Balkman, and put this Anucha delusion away for good! I am pineing for the final roster we will go to war with this year! I am also pineing for Marbury to finally be the best Leader of a team that he has ever been in his life! The second half of last season was by far his overall best! Even if his minutes diminish, he can still impose his will on the rest of the younger players by leading from the bench by cheering on his team and shouting direction to them, instead of hideing his head in his towel while on the bench! We all know that steph can score 40 as a 2 on any given night! I hope he realizes that we all know that, so what we really need is his breakout year and commitment to lead this team 82 games before and after going into the playoffs! That is what I'm pineing about!
my bad peace.
i actually wanted sean williams to go to the knicks, because we have zero interior presence on the defensive end.
i predict stephon won't have any problems this season. he's not doing the starbury tour too late going into training camp, and from last season he knows exactly what isiah is expecting of him. so, out of the entire team, i'm worried the least about stephon. i'm concerned about defense primarily. i'm also concerned about how curry and zach can exist on offense together, i'm concerned for the talented young players that need minutes to continue to develop. i'm concerned about roster redundancies such as Jared Jeffries and Renaldo Balkman, Quentin Richardson and Jamal Crawford (they may have different styles but Q needs to play at the shooting guard to maximize his game) and finally i'm concerned about all these rumors that D Lee will bolt from NYC when his rookie contract is over.
it is a shame that this trial is going to take place. everything is about money in our society. hope the truth comes out, whatever that may be.
Hoz
The last time Marion played with "best point guard" Marbury, he went from all-star to no-star lol
To continue, Artest is an engima! He's exactly what we need at a Wal Mart price! Marion and Kobe are not what we really need to be elite! They both cost Multi-Millions more and will also require multiple players being removed from our current core to make such a deal! Nate would be the biggest name we'd have to give up for Artest. Let Marbury lead the back court and Artest lead the front court! Both Native New Yorkers, bringing another title to the Rafters of their Home town. There is not one team, and I mean NONE, I fear will beat us with both of them here!
Artest 2007-2008 or Bust!
Out of town – want to get in my picks from yesterday’s quiz.
Worst draft: Weis, definitely.
Worst trade: Nice one, Mak. I don’t know if it was THE worst trade, but I cried when they dumped Lonnie Shelton for the Eraser.
(Years ago the Village Voice ran a “3 greatest lies contest.” I won 1st and 2nd place. 2nd was for "3 Greatest Knick Management Lies": All we need is Bob Macadoo. All we need is Spencer Haywood. All we need is Marvin Webster.)
-Cheeks was insane. Frances was salvaged, but looked real bad at the time. But I gotta believe there are many much worse . . .
Favorite Knick: Toss-up between Bernard and Willis.
Starburyfan
Your concerns are legit! I feel they will work themself out this year! We will Know the true extent of injurys to Lee , Crawford, and Q. James and Rose will not be around when Lee's contract expires, that frees up enough Cap to keep him as an option! We don't have to worry about Balk for two years and we will know the truth about Jeffries this year, breakout year or be history! These are good problems to have, all things considered!
Trane
Worst draft pick? Louis Orr!
Worst trade? Strickland for Cheeks! Favorite Knicks? Forward=King, Center=Ewing, Guard= Clyde!
Off the Bench= Cazzie Russell!
Peace - I'm no Orr fan, but worse than passing up Artest for a FRENCH center? Tough call. We agree on Cheeks, though. Terrible. I like the way your favorite players span 3 great decades and Knicks team. Can't argue with any of them, although it's tough to pass on Willis, especially with those two rings. But, of course,"favorite" is the ultimate subjective question.
Who's your biggest disappointment? Mine might be Michael Ray. He was destined for greatness. I never saw a faster first step. That was really a shame.
Trane
I would have to say that Kenny "sky" Walker was my personal biggest Knick dissapointment! This guy could out Jump anyone I've seen and literally Fly! His Knee injury cut short what may have been the Knicks "Dr J" or "Dave Thompson" like player!
Alan was on the Money about this trial being ugly!
First of all the atempt by Anucha to sway people to her side by painting Thomas as a Racist is bogus! Bobby Knight would of smelled that side of Thomas a mile away, and Zeke would of never made it in his program! Knight could care less about how well you played the game, he gave no passes on racist behavior! I hope Knight gets put on the stand to back Zeke's character! Zeke may be a lot of things but he's NO Racist! Anucha is ugly to the BONE! I wonder what Lambier and Daly would say about Zeke being painted as a Racist?
Worst trade? Frazier for Jim Cleamons.
Favorite Knicks:
1.Frazier
2.King
3.Ewing
Given Isiah's remarks, I guess he won't be trading for Kirilenko...
You really think that Isiah called her bitch when he wasn't even angry in an organization which has many white people around all the time. Please! No you didn't! ANd neither did Isiah. People think lawsuits are a 2nd Bachelors degree these days
It doesn't read like much difference between Isiah and Bill O'Reilly. Sorta sad when you think about it.....but it seems to be true this time around.
Maybe some guys just can't respect the ladies. It all seems so damn stupid. Isiah's not in high school anymore. I guess lots of guys never learn.
Houston to sign with Nets?
http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXkxMjgmZmdiZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTcxOTQxMDUmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2
Well, nobody can shoot in the league anymore and the Nets made a big mistake by locking in to Carter (in my opinion), so I guess signing Houston is the kind of solution they are left with.
Talk about Roster Redundancy - the Nets have the same player starting at two positions in Carter and Jefferson.
Best NYK trade….
I’ll take a different approach….
Trading away Walt “Bells Bellamy and getting DeBusschere. More importantly, that trade facilitated the move by Willis Reed from PF to center and we all know how that turned out.
Reed was a 2nd round pick in ‘64!!! However, this is misleading as the 1st round only had 9 picks. (NYK also had the very 1st pick in the first round, a Jim Barnes????)
Surprisingly, Bellamy did not make the 50 NBA Greatest. His numbers speak for themselves. He more than held his own against Wilt & Russ. Definitely in the center position, he was more deserving than Shaq in that original 50 at that time. (this was before the Finals MVP version of Shaq.) One can also argue that Bells was more deserving than D. Robinson or perhaps even Ewing at the 5. (No need to remind me that voting was not based on position played.)
Mak is a fraud!!
What a circus.
"In what she described as his switch to inappropriate advances to her, she said he told her that he loved her, that her looks made it difficult to work around her and that he wanted private time with her at an off-site location."
I find that very hard to believe. Her looks may make it hard to work around her but it's probably cuz her grill-piece is a bit scary. Your pulse quickens, break out in cold sweats...sounds like a panic attack not love. LoL.
Sounds like he turned into a sarcastic beast and she bought into it.
Police,
Are you trying to be a bully in here? Totally unnecessary. You made your point already; give it a break.
There's a thin line between love and hate. It's Ok if you have special love for Mak, just send him personal notes, not blogs.
If Houston signs with the Nets, IT should order "elbows up" on him. Can you believe this shyt? Houston takes the money and plays for our biggest enemy?
These guys have no limit. Does he really want to do that to the Knicks?
This case is a classic witch-hunt. No jury could possibly believe that Isaiah harassed this woman. I’m so tired of women like this thinking they are the center of someone’s universe. Are you serious? THIS woman in a harassment case? WTF? What a waste of our judicial system.
Of course, there has been a Mitch Lawrence sighting. The Knicks should check into his closet. I am quite sure “Bucky” has harassed a few Daily News gals. His articles are starting to read like an obsessed journalist.
Harlem, not just the Nets. If Houston signs with ANY of our rivals, I will have lost all respect for him. He has zero loyalty to the city or the team, total loser.
You know, IT did exchange a kiss with Magic back in 1989. She does look like Magic. Maybe IT thought she was Magic? I swear, if this real, he should just pack up. At least Ewing got caught in a great stripclub! Damn!
I'm a little upset after reading that article about the Nets interest in Alan Houston. I thought Rod Thorn had already made a comment about not being interested.
Here's the News article about the subject of Houston to the Nets. There I go believing them as a source. What a dummy I am. I'm upset most because Houston (a great shooter) might just be what they need.
I like the RJ-VC pairing because RJ is more of a defensive presence. The one thing I don't like isthat RJ habitually yields to VC on the offensive end. At this point, I blame everything on Lawrence Frank. He's a great preparatory coach but evidently he has no vision and does not see what the Big 3's weaknesses are. At least, he started using his bench more towards the end of the season. Bostjan Nachbar emerged and Mikki Moore got enough confidence to start making the 15 foot jumpshot regularly.
With Alan Houston at the 2...it could be dangerous. He could be the newest Reggie Miller type Knick-killer. What drama.
"Maybe IT thought she was Magic?"
Oh snap. I'm jealous I didn't think of that. HAHAHAHA
That should be the backbone of IT's defense. Put pictures of Nuche and Magic side by side and mark off all the similarities and say..."Possible? I think so"
I think Houston never wanted to retire, never wanted to leave the Knicks. The money he got is all about the market and the foolish GMs who make it so (exhibit A: Juwan Howard's contract). To get to the point where you try microfracture surgery means that your knees are missing articular cartilage - meaning bone on bone arthritis. Some guys have just a patch missing and the procedure can help - J Kidd, Amare Stoudemire, others, missing a greater percentage, it doesn't work so well. The procedure consists of drilling tiny holes into the bone where the cartilage used to be. This brings blood to the surface and connects the surface of the bone to the marrow; the bone then can generate new cartlilage. Its a hit and miss thing, sometimes it takes, sometimes it doesn't, and it grows at different rates and thickness and durability in each person. Houston's did not go that well. He did everything he could to get back on the court and honor his contract. Plenty of guys (Darius Miles comes to mind) have enjoyed their guaranteed money on the couch blazing away and eating cheetos without too much worry. Anybody who saw Houston's attempts to play with the Knicks after the procedure could see he was in bad shape. I personally (full disclosure - 6 knee ops, and plenty of arthritis) was wincing watching him try to run. Remember how he hired the ex high jumper to re-work his running and jumping mechanics? He ended up with that flat footed, bounding gait, and still had to shut it down. Point is, he did everything he could to get back and play. Some of us old dogs maybe know how it feels - it isn't even the pain that's the problem - pain is a player's privelige - its the fact you are robbed of power and explosiveness - no gas in the shocks.
I'm happy for him if he's gotten some semblance of healing and can try to scratch the itch one more time. I'm even happier that the Knicks don't need to be looking for solutions at the SG position from the likes of Houston or Reggie Miller.
Unless he is on a totally different program in training camp than the rest of the squad, I doubt he'll even make it out of the preseason. Too much running, too many drills, too much activity. I doubt the knees could handle it. But, if he stays on his own training regimen, doesn't have to do suicides, and comes in at the end of every quarter for a couple jumpers, maybe he can do it. But I think just trying to move on the court at real game speed, stopping, cutting, jumping is going to be real different, and very difficult.
I don't think he's a traitor, just a guy who couldn't play at the highest level anymore, trying to get back. Now Jerome James is a guy you could get worked up over......
Herb Williams is doing some speaking about team chemistry
Browne Sanders Takes The Stand, Accuses Thomas Of Racism
September 12, 2007 - 11:10 am
Newsday -
Anucha Browne Sanders took the stand Tuesday in a federal courthouse in lower Manhattan.
"I don't give a -- about these white people, I don't give a -- about our season [ticket] subscribers," Browne Sanders claimed that Isiah Thomas told her during one of the numerous meetings they had about getting Thomas involved in the Knicks' team marketing efforts that Browne Sanders oversaw.
"We categorically deny this new set of unfounded and outrageous allegations made today in court," Sue Ellen Eisenberg, one of Thomas' attorneys, responded in a statement after court adjourned. [READ]
Nets Will Offer Houston 'Make-Good' Contract?
September 12, 2007 - 11:06 am
Bergen Record -
According to multiple league sources, the Nets will offer Allan Houston a "make-good" contract for the veteran's minimum. If the shooting guard accepts and his body holds up through next month's training camp, he will be on the team this season.
Houston, who retired before the 2005-06 season because of an arthritic left knee, held a private workout at New York Athletic Club in Manhattan on Tuesday. The Nets, represented by coach Lawrence Frank and assistant Brian Hill, were among about seven teams on hand.
Reached by telephone, Frank said, "You have to be very, very impressed with him wanting to play. It's not financially motivated. He probably feels he has some unfinished business. He had a very, very good workout." [READ]
Way to break it down Willis. Top notch assessment as usual.
I remember when he hired the ex high jumper. I actually thought he might come back. Is that really what the surgery was?
Drilling holes in bone to let some blood through and hope that cartilage rebuilds itself...ouch!!
DaVonn J:
I read that article where Anucha accuses IT of racism. What get's me is that why should that accusation have any relevance in a case about sexual harrasment by one person a certain ethnicity/race against another person of the same ethnicity/race. What might be going on is that her attorneys let that racism thing out of the bag b/c the jury is an all caucasian jury. No Black people. If I recall correctly there are 5 women and three men. And if racism is played on this all white jury it seems very underhanded and heck if I were IT's counsel I would have objected to that testimony b/c it's got nothing to do with sexual harrasment its merely to play to the color of the jury at hand.
Stuff makes me sick really sick.
Maple syrup on me Peace, but truthfully most of us including me wanted a shotblocker like Sean W on our team. But the risk of getting suspended for weed was just too 'high' for me. :)
PS Sean W also missed a lot of time past season and looked pretty average in Orlando camp from what was written. Average play and high risk of suspension do not help Nets cause. I wonder how Almond and Dudley are doing, those were our other choices. Lets keep an eye on them.
Just to follow up on best/worst trades from the last thread.
How about another 20-91/2guy we got from the Bulls? If Wilson Chandler becomes a big time player the Curry trade would be the best ever for the Knicks.
O & B
I think, there are a couple of hispanics on the jury. Couldn't tell you how many though. We click the "Other" box so I guess reporter's don't know how to refer to us.
BARF:
I like the way you create those hyperlinks. Neat.
Keep it up "pal."
Anusha Browne Sanders may not be attractive. She looks macho to me. However, she may be a very good "singer."
(microphone - hint/hint)
Yeah BARF - read an article about it a while ago, I think in erference to Amare's prognosis. The thing is you have to stay off it for the cartilage to take and not get malformed, and its a crapshoot as to whether it really grows in well enough. Be interesting to see what Kenyon Martin has left.
Basketball is just a brutal game for the knees and very few people have the joint conformation to handle the stress the game puts on the body. If you think about it, the human body is an amazing thing that we can teach to do all sorts of things, but its really not designed to do much more than walk around alot looking for game to hunt and forage to collect. A big part of who reaches the professional level in sports is dictated by who's body survives the process of learning and playing the game. Great players never make it out of high school, great players never make it out of college. You have to be good of course, you have to have an NBA size body, you have to have an NBA skill, but you also have to be lucky with what your DNA gave you as far as durability. That's a big reason why you'll see more and more international players - just another source of those who have survived to the point they can be considered candidates. The game selects for unreal size, strength and speed now, so there are even less guys in the world, let alone the US, that qualify.
Thanks Mak
I like it when you stick to old school bball topics and quit whining about the hecklers you've accumulated.
By the way "friend", "The Police" is not me. I only say this cuz I suspect you suspect me. Happy posting "chum".
BARF:
Been trying my best to ignore my 'fans."
I have a very good idea who "Mr. Coward" is, even back in Isola's site. Anyway, it's neither here or there.
Let's talk hoops.
MAK:
We're all bball obsessed fans man. Just enjoy the ride while there's a ride to enjoy.
At least, you're not ignored right?
Frankie Ice's spot has come to be a bore. There's a common sentiment that it will rejuvenate come next season...I wonder if that's true. I suppose it may fill with new heads. Should be a n interesting next season, on the court for the players and off the court with us.
Whats up with Bermy and F.Ice not updating their spots?
I have a picture in my head of them rolling in a vat of mud together...naked (no homo...um...at least not me).
i thought the trial was about sexual harrasment, why is anucha talking about isiah saying racist remarks?
http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/ny-sphow125370837sep12,0,3366605.column
seems like this newspaper newsday that pays alan and runs this website is turning into another tabloid like the daily news or the ny post. i've already boycotted those newspapers, thanks to this article,
http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/ny-sphow125370837sep12,0,3366605.column
the "jury" is still out on newsday.
just what the world needs. more frank isolas.
From the looks of Anucha and her basketball background, I think she and Zeke may have had the type of relationship where he could playfully refer to her as the "B" word. So even when they argued, him letting a "b" or 2 fly out his mouth wasn't quite that disrespectful, if that makes any sense. I'm sure she would hit him in return w/ some choice descriptions of her own. She looks too rugged to just meekly accept disrespect. I think they had a hot/cold relationship. When they were cool they were cool, when they had beef, they had beef. I bet Isiah did make the 'Love & Basketball' reference to her on some joke stuff and she knew it at the time too. Now she's playing it up in court. I can't see him being 'in love' w/ her for real. I haven't seen Zeke's wife since the Piston days, but I remember her looks would take a huge dump all over Anucha. Married men don't step out to sub-standards from what's at home. It's either equal or better. In my opinion if her claims had actual merit, she wouldn't want her job back.
The Glove may retire with his hometown team Golden State? Didn't Baron Davis grow with GP? That'd be cool to have them on the same team when GP retires. I'm all teary eyed.
Krome
You brought up a point I was struggling with...
Why does Nuche want her job back? She is suing to come back to work for a company that fired her for complaining about her being sexually harassed...?
She not only wants money...but she wants her job back.
That's so weird.
The thing about it being playful to call her a bitch is also weird though. It's one thing to call your girlfriend/wife/homegirl a bitch and thinks its cute...but at work?
And still, most dudes don't have a girl/wife that they consider their homies thus they can't get away with it either so...
if Isiah really called her "bitch" on a regular basis, he's quite idiotic.
Still though, the guy can sure draft his ass off. HAHAHA
she probably isn't entitled to the 9 or 10 million dollars if she doesn't say that she wants her job back, even though she already has another job at SUNY Buffalo.
this trial sucks on multiple levels, mostly because it is another opportunity for the media to be negative about the knicks. justified or not, this only hurts the knicks basketball team going into the season.
please hire magic to run the knicks. don't see him getting into all this trouble.

Don't Call him Sam Bowie!!!
Mak - good to see the new you. Like Jared Jeffries, you deserve a fresh start this season too.
BARF - you are relentlessly dilligent with the links. I love it. That Herb interview was amazing, its so easy to see why NYC loves the guy.
Willis - amazing assesment on the H20 tip. I agree with you 100%, but its hard not to let emotions get involved. Logically, everything you say is totally valid, but sometimes I just wanna F logic and hate the guy for not living up to what I wanted him to be.
Hey Knickerbloggers err... Fixers.
I think the point of her claiming to want to return to the Garden along with her request for about 10 Million in compensation is sort of a strategic thing.
You see if she just asked for the money then the perception might be that she had nothing invested in working for MSG and that the case is more so about money. But if she asks to return alongside money it takes on the tone of a woman making a "principled" argument to stay despite the "hostile environment" and the claim for money is the side note becuase sweet little Nouche just wants MSG to behave itself.

I thought the same thing as you with regard to the allegations of racism. I mentioned in an earlier post that it was sort of dirty b/c it had nothing to do with sex discrimination and perhaps played to what I read was an all white Jury.
