New Year's Day
Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one
I...I will begin again
I...I will begin again
- U2 New Year's Day
If only the Knicks could begin again. But the reality is none of us really begin again on New Year's Day, we just get a fresh start to change some things about ourselves for the better.
I'll start with me. My top 5 resolutions:
5. Live up to the term "working media." But only after my pregame nap.
4. Pass Billy Donovan's phone number to James Dolan
3. Get through an entire Knicks game without saying the words: "No, don't shoot that Jamal!....Good shot."
2. No more Taco Bell
1. Begin writing a relevant blog about the Knicks.
Here are some suggestions for a few Knicks (I encourage you all to send in your own suggestions):
Isiah Thomas -- Refrain from talking to opposing players during games
Stephon Marbury -- Forget benevolence; develop a sneaker than can get you back to dropping 20 a night
Jamal Crawford -- Curb thy dribble
Quentin Richardson -- Two words: bed boards (in every hotel)
Eddy Curry -- "Help defense" should be an attitude, not a desperate plea
Channing Frye -- Get tips from David Lee on how to be a better offensive rebounder
David Lee -- Get tips from Channing Frye on how to be a better perimeter shooter
Jared Jeffries -- Get rim, at least, on every free throw attempt
Steve Francis -- Find those springs that used to be in your legs
Mardy Collins -- Show how you can take someone out simply with the good, solid defense that got you drafted
Nate Robinson -- Strive to be more than just a tattooed mascot with an attitude and a Slam Dunk trophy
Renaldo Balkman -- Aw man. Stay crazy. Just crazy

stop taking bad shots jamal

to knick fans...remember mantra...average age 24...
to Isiah...apply tough love, make the players accountable.
to steph...be yourself
to Curry...a moving target is harder to contain...watch Olajawon tapes.
to Crawford...eliminate the 8 bad shots from your nightly repetoire...forever
to Lee- 1000 jumpers after practice.
to Nate...focus
to Frye...be a factor in the paint...on both ends of the floor.
to Q Rich- Get the back surgery sooner vs. later,
(See...McGRady, Tracy).
to Jeffries, Balkman and Collins- remember defense brought you to the dance, no shots outside 8 feet
to jerome james-ask for a buyout...or at least offer to pay for the return of Jackie Butler.
to James Dolan-Give someone your Credit Cards until the 2008-09 season...
get under the Cap!
To the New York Media- no flip-flopping on the fates of Isiah Thomas or this team for the rest of the season. And no unsubstantiated rumors.
Alan- keep with your resolution and update your blog. I always look for a new entry because I feel these blogs are more "uncensored" and interesting. Good work and keepit up (and going), man!
LEE, FRYE , AND CURRY
whatta growing frontline...
Jeffries D and hustle is important
And acquiring maybe an OAKLEY type but Malik Rose fits here until Balkman gets that role.
STEPH, QRICH,
CRAWFORD (6TH MAN) and NATE off da bench.
thats a good nine-TEN.
and keep working on that 'D'
Stevie Fran(let him go to somebody like Minnesota and do his thing with KG), James, Cato,Collins ...?
I'm late with my comment but those suggestion are so true, they had me dying laughing. Especially about Nate being a tattooed mascot. I think he is a good player but i think he can quickly turn into a know-it-all player that listens to knwo one and does what he wants. I think the fight was sort of a heat check.
And as far as Jamal, his dribble is apart of his cross over that helps him "shake and bake" as Walt Fazier would say.
