Today's lineup vs. Cardinals

This one's a little better than the one the Mets sent to Lakeland yesterday.

Jose Reyes (SS)
Fernando Martinez (CF)
David Wright (3B)
Carlos Delgado (1B)
Moises Alou (LF)stl.jpeg
Ryan Church (RF)
Ruben Gotay (2B)
Brian Schneider (C)
Marlon Anderson (DH)

Willie Randolph just told us yesterday that Fernando Martinez would get most of his playing time this spring at the corner outfield spots and -- presto! -- there he is in centerfield today. Go figure.

Dave, what's the buzz on Michel Abreu...good/bad/otherwise?

who's pitching 2day ? ?

i don't care much about the lineup, i really care about who's pitching, the team still have some holes in the bullpen

Believe Maine will get the "start."

yeah i know maine gets the start, but after him, who ? ?

From yesterday's game notes: Maine, Sanchez, Schoeneweis, Lugo, Register, Padilla.

thanks roberto, keep an eye on Sanchez and Padilla, well good test for all of them to prove something

I've heard a lot of mixed things about Michel Abreu, some positive, but mostly negative. He's a Cuban defector whose listed at 28 or 29, but he's rumored to be as old as 33, so who knows how old this guy really is. I think the whole age discrepancy is what led the Red Sox to get rid of Abreu. Also I think he had a ton of visa issues getting into the country last year, so he pretty much lost an entire season. I know Abreu has always shown a pretty nice bat, but I'm not too sure about his defense at 1st. If your thinking about Abreu possibly backing up Delgado at 1st, I don't think it's going to happen.

Beyond Mike Carp and Lucas Duda the Mets are pretty thin when it comes to firstbase prospects.

Are Carp and Coles even in camp?
