No A-Rod for Mets

rod.jpgLooks like the Mets absolutely, positively won't be getting A-Rod, so David Wright can stay put at third base and Jose Reyes does not have to pack his bags for Minnesota as the centerpiece of a trade for Johan Santana. All that drama for nothing.

Relieved?

Hallelujah! Let A-Rod continue to be someone else's problem. Let someone else overpay him for the next 10 years. He was never a good fit for the Mets in many ways.

thank you God.

Let him stay with the Stankees so their hypocritical fans can now say they wanted him to stay all along!

The Mets can blow 7 game leads with 17 games without A Rod's help..

Good for them. Now, when the Yankees are in the playoffs for the millionth time and the METs aren't, or elimated early, they can be proud knowing they stood on principle and didn't overpay a selfsish Hall of Famer. Take that!

The Yanks can blow 3game lead in playoffs withA Rod's help..

Take that!

The real question for me is who is the real Jose Reyes? The hustling guy that looked like a team player at the beginning of the year, or the selfish one that wasn't running out ground balls, making mental errors and barely hitting his weight after the all-star break (or was that after Rickey Henderson got in his head)? If the latter, package Jose for an A++ pitcher and bring on A-Rod and let him play shortstop.

LOOKS TO ME THAT OMAR MINAYA IDEA WAS TO MAKE THE YANKEES OVER PAY FOR PLAYERS LIKE POSADA, RIVERA AND RODRIGUEZ.
SAMETHING LIKE THAT WILL GIVE THE METS A BETTER CHANCE TO LAND PLAYERS LIKE TEXEIRA AND SANTANA AT THE END OF 2008
