General manager Omar Minaya made his boldest statement yet yesterday about Pedro Martinez, saying of the rehabbing Mets ace: “I’m counting on him. We’re counting on him. Counting on him to help us win games this season.”
What about you? Are you counting on him? Do you think it's wise for the Mets to be counting on him?

I am not counting on Pedro at all . He hasn't
faced any game conditions,
and until he goes at least
5 innings and is throwing at least 90 with a good
breaking pitch , I wouldn't count on him at
all.

Anything you get from Pedro would be GRAVY!! Hope for the best; expect the Worst!
Of course, we are counting on him! He's the ace of the staff..if Glavine and El Duque can keep pitching like they have done lately, a rotation of Pedro, Tommy, El Duque, Johnny, and Ollie would be amazing! Now if only the Carlos' can start smacking the ball
If Moise Alou's slowness in recovering from injury indicates anything, it's that when you age you don't recover that fast. Martinez isn't a 20 year old.
