FLUSHING, N.Y., June 12, 2007 – The New York Mets today announced that Mets stars Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Tom Glavine, Paul Lo Duca, Jose Reyes, Scott Schoeneweis, Billy Wagner, and David Wright have confirmed their participation in the Mets Foundation’s “Teammates in the Community” fundraiser on Thursday, June 21 at Richards, in Greenwich, Conn. They will join Mets COO Jeff Wilpon, General Manager Omar Minaya, and Manager Willie Randolph for this special event, presented by NetJets.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with their favorite players and to bid on once-in-a-lifetime baseball experiences with the team’s stars. The auction will include unique Mets experiences such as shagging fly balls with Carlos Beltran, a batting clinic with Carlos Delgado, playing a round of golf with Tom Glavine, a personal Spanish lesson with Jose Reyes, and personal instruction on playing any position on the field with David Wright.

A limited number of $500 tickets are still available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To purchase tickets, call (718) 803-4074 or send an email to teammates@nymets.com. Capacity is limited to 400 guests. All donations for this event are tax deductible. All of the proceeds from the event, auction, and donations will be distributed through the Mets Foundation to a variety of worthy causes, including the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, Harlem RBI, the Extra Bases Foundation, the Second Chance Learning Center, and the David Wright Foundation.

A registered 501c3 charity, the Mets Foundation takes no portion of contributed funds to offset administrative costs. Every dollar contributed to the Foundation is directed to accomplishing its mission.
