Sixth Sense

Carlos Delgado described his four at-bats Wednesday from the sixth spot as the best of the season. Apparently, manager Willie Randolph wasn't overly impressed. Delgado, despite his career .344 average against John Smoltz, is hitting sixth again tonight. Here's the lineup:

Reyes ... SS
Chavez .. LF
Beltran .. CF
Wright ... 3B
Lo Duca .. C
Delgado ...1B
Green .... RF
Gotay ... 2B
Glavine ...LHP

I could live with this lineup all year long.
Alou: strictly against leftanders and pinch hitting.
Sorry pal.
Only change, second base.
I am sorry but despite the 6 taters, and also one from Gotay I really am concerned with the defense.
People can knock Valentin.
But he and Reyes were like butter.
Orlando Hudson would make everyone turn their heads.

braves win the series AGAIN!!!

ATL IN DA HOUSE, you are brief,
to the point,
straight forward.
I like your style.
But you are like 24 hours late,
try to keep up with the pace.
I know you were probably sniffing some household products and were not able to type,
but just so you know,
there is a game tonight as well,
try to stay available to post here,
and admit that the Mets are in first place to stay,
and that Andruw Jones is on his way to playing a season
in Taiwan next year,
in the hopes of establishing a decent market value for himself in 2008.

quick note on Josh Hancock,
I am really sorry he died.
It was tragic. But now his father is suing the bar/establishment that served his son the drinks.
He is also suing the driver of the car that his son crashed into while high on Marijuana and alcohol and talking on the cell phone, on his way to another bar or strip club.
Please stop it. Your son was a drug addict. It won't bring him back to do litigation, maybe someone should have been there for him before he got behind the wheel.
Like his father.

Well, what's the excuses this series, Mut fans? That's now 6 up & 3 down for the Big A in '07. Your worst nightmare Mut fans is coming true: a competitive, good Braves team being in your heads and chasing your team down all summer long. Feel the throats tightening a tad? We'll see you in August.

3 series played, 3 series won by the braves. 5 runs in 3 games, come on mut fans i thought your offense was sooooo good. lol. smoltz 200 W, 200 saves baby. what's glavine's record vs. ATL now? what's the muts record at the ted now? pathetic. WE'RE IN YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!!! i'll take .667 baseball anyday. 2 of 3 all season long from your squad.

EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS!!!! ANOTHER BRAVES SERIES WIN!!! COME ON NOW!!!

trivia time: the mets have lost 4 series this year. please name the teams the mets lost those series to?

Were're coming, thanks for keeping our Divsion place warm but we are ready to start another streak!
You will always fail...you are the Mutts! Try to buy your way.

"a competitive, good Braves team being in your heads and chasing your team down all summer long"

chasing the mets all summer long? nice to see you're conceding the division title.

John Smoltz: The steroids really go down well with cornflakes.

Braves were lucky last night.
I really thought that their "fat boy" closer was going to blow it.
At least there is a mindset of we can stick it to this bullpen.

I give props to the Braves,
but I sincerely hope that visions of sugarplums from second place do not give Atlantians a dose of sour grapes later. Because Brave fans, you are in second place. And Saltamachia, Diaz et al can't play over their heads all year long.
Lets come back to reality.
The Braves will not be making any midseason trades because of the new ownership is not completed.
That all spells bad pitching, ordinary hitters, and of course a declining Andruw Jones who will probably be making 18 million a year from some sucker out there a la Barry Zito. It doesn't end well for the Braves.

To the moron who posted about Smoltzie to the Hall of Fame.
He does not have 200 saves.
Check your facts before you post.
He is not a Hall Of Famer.
He reminds me of Bert Blyleven.
Bert had a lot of K's.
A lot of .500 seasons or mediocre records.
But Bert amassed almost 300 wins.
If Smoltzie weezels in then there will be a busload of wannabees that should be in who were for the most part, mediocre in their career.
And guess what:
if I had to pick Smoltz or Bert to draft. I am picking Bert and his nasty hook.

JOHN LIEBER IS A COMPLETE PANZEE FOR NOT DROPPING DONTRELLE WILLIS.
THAT IS WHY THE PHILLIES STINK.
THAT IS WHY THE PHILLIES ARE A JOKE.
THEY HAVE NO TEAM UNITY AND WILLIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE GROUND.
HEY JON LIEBER? DO YOU LIKE THE BULLPEN?
YOU USED TO BE A BULLDOG BUT I GUESS IT IS TRUE.
THE METS ARE THE ONLY TEAM WITH THE ST*NES TO BE GREAT.
THAT INCLUDES THE PANZEE BRAVES.

Even if Senior Smoltz had 200 wins and 200 saves,
there is a large amount of people who believe Dennis Eckersley is not a hall of famer. Kirk Gibson showed us why.
Dennis Eckersley was simply a benefactor of how Tony LaRussa has ruined the game of baseball with "specialization". Sometimes all the mind numbing substitutions (Felipe Alou) are hard to watch. Regardless of where the game was in crisis. Eckersley racked up his stats throwing spinners in the ninth. Or sometime a couple of batters in the ninth as often was the case.
He was hardly a Rollie Fingers.
