The Mets have made it official. No El Duque for the first round after he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 proximal gastroc tear of the right calf.
Here's how the rest of the 25-man roster shakes out.

CATCHERS (2): Paul Lo Duca, Ramon Castro
INFIELDERS (7): Carlos Delgado, Julio Franco, Jose Reyes, Jose Valentin, Chris Woodward, David Wright
OUTFIELDERS (4): Carlos Beltran, Endy Chavez, Cliff Floyd, Shawn Green, Michael Tucker

What about Brian Bannister?
Why Perez over Williams? Perez is a train wreck.
Where is Jose Lima when you need him...Just kidding !
Heck of a challenge: Win 11 games with a 3-man rotation of 6-inning pitchers.
Mets need some 6-run innings and an incredible bullpen.
Completely agree with Craig - what's that thought process?
Omar Minaya is making Brian Cashman look like a brain surgeon. At least Brian Cashman is willing to make a deadline deal "EVERY" SINGLE YEAR in order to fortify his team for a run. I guess nobody explained to Omar Minaya the rules of winning.
Cheers Omar, enjoy the playoffs.
Met pitchers are going down more than teenage pages on Capital Hill.
Somebody get some bubble wrap for these guys.
Apparently Omar Minaya's Plan B stood for BENGAY. What the hell is going on ?....Have they even given any thought to starting Heilman?
There is a surplus in the relief core and Mota/Hernandez can do the job without using Aaron. Somebody stop the bleeding already.
Throw us a friggin' bone. The wheels are coming off of the bus and Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are driving. Met fans are getting desperate.
