So Sori

Was Willie Randolph stumping for the Mets to sign free-agent-to-be Alfonso Soriano when he anwered a question Friday about the 40-40 man, who is in town for the weekend with the Nationals?
“I’m sure Sori is probably more offensive-minded then he ever will be. I’m sure defense is not one of his strong suits. If a club has a good leftfielder or a good leftfield situation, I’m sure he could do more than an adequate job at second base and be an asset to a club. If you have a second baseman who can put those kind of numbers up, I’m sure he probably would make them stronger.”
Won’t the Mets need a second baseman in 2007? Just asking.

UPDATE: As compensation for the tampering charges filed against the Mets by the Washington Nationals. The Nats received Lastings Milledge, Mike Pelfry, $750,000 and have ordered Willie Randolph to sit out the first three games of THE PLAYOFFS. Oh Willie, don't you follow the Jets at all?
Keep your yap shut.
Push Cliff Floyds buttons on your own.

Omar will make a big push for Soriano who would love to be back in New York... The Mets caught lightning in a bottle with Jose Valentin at second base and cant expect the same next year.

sori is what the mets need get him

Soriano is a special player, the Yankees have tanked without him and they certainly will try to correct that this offseason. Mets don't have a chance to sign him. He will go back to the Yankees. Carlos Lee will be the new left fielder for the Mets.
