Welcome to my last entry on the Mets blog for this season. I've enjoyed reading the comments of most of you and thank you for your participation. Others will continue the fine tradition of blogging that Newsday has given you since the beginning of the 2006 season while I slide over to the Yankees. I leave you with these predictions:

Indeed I can see the Phillies beating the pants off the Mets. They are wiley and tenacious and remind one of the never-say-die 1970s Florida Marlins teams.

Rumor has it... that Anthony Rieber is "switching" over to the Yankee blog for educational purposes solely. He wants to communicate with those savages and maybe get one or two of them to use toilet paper instead of the hands.
I slept with Anthony Rieber too.
If the Astros somehow make it to the playoffs, the Mets may not even make the division series. I am more worried about them then any other contending ballclub. The Mets will crush the Phillies, as long as they pitch around Ryan Howard.
Rieber, when you have to kiss George Steinbrenner's tuckas, just "close your eyes" and pretend it's two pillows. That always seems to work for the other Yankee employees you traitor.
I see the Phillies giving the Mets a run for their money in the National League Championship Series only because they can throw 3 southpaws at the Mets (Moyer, Hamels, Wolf). However, I think the Mets depth in batting and the bullpen can get them to the World Series no matter who they play on their way!!! No selling out here!
Anthony Rieber ? Well, I will never forget the time he was purchasing girl scout cookies. This adorable girl scout told him that his total was $4.75. He proceeded to hand her $8.63 and said "I will give you 30 seconds to figure out how much change I am due, or I want the cookies for free."
