Who is Roland Burris? I mean, seriously, who is he? And look! He has a tomb in place.

-- At 71, he’s but one year younger than Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
-- He last held office in 1995, the last year in his four-year stint as Illinois’ attorney general.
-- Burris was the state’s comptroller from 1979 to 1991 and was then the first African-American to be elected statewide office in Illinois.
-- He’s a Saluki, having graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
-- Burris advocates a national ban on handguns.
-- He ran (unsuccessfully) for the office of mayor of Chicago in 1995.
-- And best of all, he purportedly has his tomb all ready to go. Located in Chicago’s famed Oak Woods Cemetery, it reads “Trail Blazer” and leaves ample space to list his future accomplishments.
