Yes, we have to go here.
Maybe you expected more of us at The Swamp. Maybe you thought a major development could occur in the continuing adventures of Eliot Spitzer's former on-call paramour, Ashley Alexandra Dupre, and we would simply let it pass unremarked, allowing this sordid tale to die the death it deserves.
You would be wrong. Besides, this is just too good.
Dupre is suing the producers behind "Girls Gone Wild" for exploiting her. After her intimate encounter with the former New York governor went public, the makers of popular DVD series, which features intoxicated, exhibitionistic young women on display for the amusement of couch-bound, socially awkward men, discovered they had rolls of footage of AAD in the can from Spring Break 2003 in Florida.
In fact, it appears Dupre spent an entire week on the Girls Gone Wild Bus.
They quickly released the footage, claiming that Dupre had signed a release. She says the release isn't legal because she was underage when she signed the contract . . . and . . . she was, well, drunk.
Dupre "did not understand the magnitude of her actions, nor that her image and likeness would be displayed in videos and DVDs," says the lawsuit filed by Miami attorney Richard Wolfe.
(Note to self: Remember this defense: "I did not understand the magnitude of my actions.")
She wants $10 million.
What makes this a fascinating Battle of the Lowest Common Denominators is that the founder of "Girls Gone Wild," Joe Francis, just got out of a Florida jail after doing time for a year on charges that he filmed underage girls in Panama City. He also faces federal tax evasion charges.
According to Dupre's MySpace blog, still up and running (with her half-nude modeling pics now added), she lists her mood today as "happy."
By the way, you are probably wondering, given the titanic importance of the ongoing Democratic presidential race, who AAD is down with.
Here's your answer:
Another key constituency with which Barack Obama is out of touch? You be the judge.
You can thank Dupre later, Mrs. Clinton. In fact, she might be free to go to North Carolina if you'll pay her way.
You might even want to adopt the self-penned pop song she sings on her MySpace page for a new campaign slogan:
I know what you want
I know what you need
You know what I want
Can you handle me?
Well can you, boo?

If you want to know the difference between Republicans and Democrats take notice class: Democrats believe in free markets and the market should decide the fate the adult entertainment industry and the hundreds of billions of dollars and many thousands of jobs it provides. Republicans on the other hand are on a mission from their imaginary friend to destroy and obliterate this industry. Leaving many thousands withouth jobs and leaving a multibillion dollar hole in our economy.

Unless there's language in release with limits on time (very much doubt there would be) she ain't getting squat.
Young, immature kids take note: What you do today can have even bigger consequences down the road. Your honor is defined by YOUR actions.

How are republicans trying to stop Girls Gone Wild? Someone with as much money as Joe Francis probably lines up and votes for lower corporate taxes every four years. What we have here is a democrat (Dupre) ignoring the release she signed and filing a nuisance lawsuit against Francis because she stupidly signed a form that she didn't understand.

Bonus: she signed legal documents when she was drunk. Real smart, Ashley!

Jeff,
It's not just Girls Gone Wild they are going after. It's the entire Adult entertainment industry. Which party tried to destroy Penthouse? What party creates zoning laws to prevent Adult stores from opening up? The moralist Republican party, that's who. We can't even watch truly live TV anymore because of one exposed breast.

"MARY POPPINS SPEAKS"
I'M VOTING FOR "THAT WOMAN" BASED ON HER "DEGREE OF HER ENTHUISIAM"
NOT MY "ENTHUISIAM" NOT "SPITZER DAY" OR "VITTER DAY" OR "LARRY FOLEY DAY" ON CAPITOL HILL.
"THE DEGREE OF HER ENTHUISIAM" HER ISSUES, HER CHARACTER!
NOT BILL O'REILLY
NOT HANNITY
NOT RUSH LIMBAUGH
"THE DEGREE OF HER ENTHUSIASM" HER ISSUES, HER CHARACTER.
BUT I'M GOING TO SUE "GIRLS GONE WILD" FOR THEIR "BREATHTAKING ABUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION" JUST LIKE "SPITZER SHOULD"
JUST LIKE DON SIEGLEMAN SHOULD!

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!
It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources.
But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.
Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.
Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.
If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.
Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."
Sincerely
