hell of a point!
Walt,
I am a student at SHSW. I saw your presentation at Hofstra's Hish School Press Day, and I have been following your drawings and animations since. I am writing an article for my journalism class regarding Newsday's recent edition, " The Wall of Shame." I saw your lastest drawing regarding the topic. I was wondering, if you wouldn't mind, if you could please reply and supply me with a quote regarding your views. I would greatly appreaciate it.
My daughter (26 and grandson (5) were killed by a drunk driver. Since 9-11-2001 more than 105,000 have been killed by a drinking driver. I spoke 89 times last year to try to lower the death rate.
Great cartoon but would have been better if all the pictures had been clean cut good looking people. At the sentencing of the woman who killed our son while drunk, the Asst. County Attorney cited statistics that three quarters of the drunk drivers that kill people have clean driving records. We have to change the attitude that it is all right to take a chance by driving after drinking. Do it often enough and you will end up in a collision and perhaps kill someone or yourself.
