F Train Baby

The subway system's first baby of the year, named Soleil -- French for "Sun" -- joined the world and the city straphangers Monday afternoon on the F platform at East Broadway .

The happy parents, Max and Francine Alfontent, were on their way to Bellevue Hospital when Francine's water broke. Passersby helped until paramedics arrived. The AP reports mom and baby Soleil ( 6 punds 7 ounces) are doing well at Bellevue.
