An MTA source says elected officials are getting peeved at not being invited to the Second Avenue Source groundbreaking Thursday.
Dozens and dozens of former and current elected officials and government appointees over the years can claim credit for helping secure support and funding for the project. But, not all of them can fit down in the hole for the ceremony.
The source says Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer and former BP C. Virginia Fields were left off, among others.
One compromise being considered is showing a live feed of the ceremony in the MTA board room.
UPDATE: Scott Stringer will be attending "with pick ax in hand" his spokesman called to say.
