The subway is ready for the snow says NYC Transit spokesman Paul Fleuranges.
"Underground service isn't affected, and elevated service is for the most part ok due to constant running of trains keeps rails free of ice etc," he emailed. "Its in open cut areas and at grade areas where we have problems (Rockaways, Dyre Ave) if we have any. That's why we'll have our De-Icers and Snow Blower trains manned and at the ready to make sure rails are free of ice and we don't get bogged down by snow drifts on viaducts or in open cut areas."
New York could get socked by a winter storm Tuesday and Wednesday.
