New holiday means new positions at the MTA

The new contract that the TWU Local 100 got will cost the MTA an extra $66 million, according to NYC Transit documents released today.

Part of the cost is because the contract gives Martin Luther King Jr. day as a holiday and the MTA estimates it will need to add 93 new positions “to meet operational coverage requirements.”
