Now, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan) is singing Bush's praises -- this time for including cash for the Second Ave. subway in his fiscal year 2008 budget.
"This would be the biggest infusion of federal cash yet for the Second Avenue subway. We're literally weeks away from breaking ground on a project that not too long ago everyone thought was dead. The Second Avenue subway is vital to relieving dangerous overcrowding on East Side subways. This is truly a great day for New York City straphangers. The President's budget proposal is just the first step in a long process. I will work with my colleagues to ensure that the President's recommendations are included in the final budget."
Groundbreaking is in March.

I wouldn't call that singing Bush's praises -- and that 'this time' is pure crap. Sounds like she pointed to one place in which a much needed New York project got funding in a budget that has little more than bad news for the City.
nice...!!
