John says goodbye

John Samuelsen, the failed No. 2 candidate to oust Roger Toussaint on the Rail & Bus slate, sent a farewell e-mail to supporters over the weekend.

"I am no longer the chair of track division. As of January 1st I go back to track inspection in T2. It is the first time in 9 years I am going back to a regular picked job. I am content in doing so. ... I am confident that track is in better shape now then before I got here."

John is standing second from left, next to Barry Roberts, head of the Rail & Bus slate.

After working with you for several years at the Union Hall and working with you in arbitration I can only feel relieved with your departure. For your legacy, for me anyway, is one of betrayal to our Union and it's members. You had the chance to be a building block in the Labor Movement but chose instead to be a road block Farewell.

James Mahoney You suck up little weasal, You didn't run for union office because you knew you couldn't get elected to anything. And now, you only have a job because Roger refuses to hire candidates that the members elected. This is exactly what Willie James did, and what you and Roger campaigned against. When you and Roger look in the mirror, what's it like having Sonny Hall and Willie James look back?
