You might think that the reason I haven't been blogging much in recent weeks is due to the sheer absence of Vivi news -- the most to report is that there is not much to report.
Or maybe because of the hustle and bustle of the holidays -- homemade eggnog takes time, you know.
But in truth, most of the radio silence is attributable to the arrival of 14 new Ridgeback souls on Jan. 4. The first of the bunch saw fit to use my queen-size pillow-top bed to cushion his trajectory into this brave new world. (Note: When Sleepy's tries to sell you that Teflon-coated mattress protector pad, buy it.)
You read that right: 14. Five boys, nine girls. Eight black noses, six brown noses.
This is a repeat of my spring litter, and it is Diva's last foray into motherhood. Quite an encore. And this time I am keeping one.

I don't envy you about 4 weeks from now. 14 times 4 or 5 poops a day!! Yikes!

G in Maine you are right. About a month from now - YIKES indeed. I had to clean up after 9 Siberian Husky puppies. A never-ending job. They would never cooperate and make their messes at the same time!
Congratulations--they are gorgeous, and you really can see those little ridges on their backs. Enjoy them, and the little one you are going to keep. We'd love seeing more puppy pics.

Hey my blogger friends, I need a huge hug and lots
of prayers tonight. A good friend of mine and my
family had a very tragic thing happen to them yesterday. My friend recently moved his mom to his
house so she would not be lonely in her big old house
by herself, well he was moving his truck out of the
driveway on Sunday night, and accidently ran his
MOther over with his truck, and killed her. He
is beyond grief, and guilt. I was at the house
today and of course he blames himself for everything. She was out in the driveway sneaking
a cigarette during halftime of the
Giants game, and he was moving his truck and did
not realize his 78 yr old mther was in the driveway
I am beyond grief tonight, I was there all day
His son is my son's best friend since 3rd grade, What do you say, I saw the raw emotion in his
eyes today, and I lost it, Pls say a prayer for
the Hayes family in Vernon, NJ. they need all the
prayer they can get. How do you live with this
for the rest of your life, killing your own MOm

Sue, I am SO sorry - trite words, but there are no other words. Of course, they are in my prayers.
We had a tragedy involving a co-worker. Her daughter's husband had a history of abuse. On New Year's Eve (he was a Baptist minister - didn't drink, so that can't be a part of this), became abusive, she feared for her life as he threatened to kill both her and her 18 year old daughter. She got in her car, pulled out of the driveway, he jumped on the hood of the car pounding on the windows, then as she turned a corner, he rolled off of the car. She went to her mother's 2 blocks away, her mother was going back to the house with her, they saw ambulances and police cars - her husband had died as a result of the accident. The police did forensics - no hair, blood, etc. on the tires or the car.
She's obviously distraught. Services are tonight.
So happy to hear that Ticket is found and home with his family tonight. Keeping the faith... :)

Oh dear Daddy. We have hearts that are totally broken today. How they need your presence and your healing touch. Daddy God, only you and your Holy Son Jesus can pull this family through this. We lift up the Hayes family to you Daddy and we place them at your throne. Daddy God, we ask you in Jesus's Name to annoint Sue G with a special annointing from you. Cause your Spirit to flow from her and give her your words to speak that will bring healing and comfort to this man who is in so much turmoil. Daddy, we bind the spirit of suicide off of him in Jesus's Name. Lead this man to the cross of Jesus and save him from the grief and guilt he is suffering at this moment. Daddy, how can words speak the sorrow in our hearts? There are no words that are adequate to cry out to you in this situation. So we ask you to look deep into our hearts and look deep into this man's heart and carry him. Carry him in your arms Daddy for he cannot walk on his own. Consume him with your presence and carry him. Carry him through each day, carry him in the night. Carry him when he rises up and carry him when he lays down. We cry out to you, Daddy! Papa! help us. Show Sue each step to take and every word to speak. Make her strong in your power and your might. Use her and use us to help this child. He is one of your children Daddy God. Save his life. Don't allow the enemy to torment him with guilt and grief. Only you know what is needed for him. Send every need and every word and every kind touch into his heart straight from your heart. Cling to him Daddy, for he cannot bare this grief alone.

Sue G so sorry to hear about this tradegy. They will be in my prayers. I also had some sad news today that I was gonna ask for prayers for. I work at a police dept. In 2002 an officer on a drug raid was shot in the face. The bullet went through his cheek and lodged in his neck. We didn't think he'd make it but after very hard rehab. and determination he recovered where he could go back to work, bullet still lodged in neck. He was able to perform light duty police work. This was his love, to be a police officer. Well, as a result of this shooting doctors had to put a pace maker in him. This morning at 12:35 a.m. he died of a heart attack at age 35. He leaves a wife and three small children. He was an awesome person and friend and will be sadly missed. I couldn't even go to work today because his office was across from mine and I'm still in shock beyond words. It was so sudden. Please pray for his family.
