<<Stolen show dogs!!!!
I need everyone's help and prayers today. Yesterday on the way to a show in Greensboro, N.C., my handler stoped at a rest stop and took a Golden puppy out for a walk in the dog area behind the building. When he came back a window had been broken and the other seven dogs he had with him were taken. Three were mine and I am devastated for myself, one other client and my handler, as three were also his.
There were three Maltese. My 1-year-old female Nikki, my 7-month-old male (that I co own with my handler) Geno, and 8 month-old-male Peanut. Both boys were wrapped. Also in the van was my 1-year-old Pom Magic. He is 3 1/2 to 4 pounds, and is an orange sable with a lot of black, very dark.
The other three were Chihuahuas. All are smooth coats, two are fawn.
One of the fawns is the dam of a number of champions and is subject to seizures if she becomes stressed. She is bred and will require a c section. Her name is Ellie and she is very quiet and sweet.
One has unusual coloring. She is a silver color with black sabling. She has a black saddle and a silver blaze. She is microchipped; her # is Avid 095812321.
Please post and cross post this anywhere and everywhere you can think of and please pray for their safe return.
Thank you,
Darlene
You can contact me at this e mail address or on my cell phone 678-471-6912, and you can contact my handler Rob Storey at RStorey@BMNet.

Those poor dogs! I'm always so afraid of that happening, but since one of my dogs is 80 pounds and looks like a wolf, I hope that serves as a deterent. No one needs to know that he is a total marshmallow, especially if you rub his belly and give him anything he perceives to be edible. What the H is wrong with people!!
It's a sad situation but there alot of sick-o people in the world today. I feel so sorry for those poor dogs.
My biggest fear is that these people will use these precious babies in puppy mills. I don't know how we can put a stop to puppy mills, but we have to somehow.
Any of our attorneys willing to take a stab at this to help get the ball rolling to close these things? I would be willing to do everything I could to help also. That and the dog fighting and chaining issue!
They can't use them in puppy mills because they need AKC registry for that (why AKC allows unscrupulous breeders to do that is another question) Last time we saw a report of dogs being taken from a NC parking lot it was for ransom. I hope they are posting the local area aggressively. Most of the vans I see with crates of dogs at AKC agility trials proudly proclaim their breeds and dog activities with license plates, stickers and magnetic signs. Perhaps it is time to rethink that the way most rental cars have become less identifiable. Unfortunately it advertises the value of the dogs to you.
I don't know if this is getting much press coverage--when I googled stolen show dogs, and some variations, and searched google news, I didn't get any hits regarding this case. It's been weighing on me that my dogs aren't microchipped so I just made an appointment to get it done tomorrow afternoon.
I actually received an email through Fido Finder (Vivi is still on that website). The woman was very upset because her dog had been stolen from her back yard. I can't even imagine...
Yes they can use them in puppy mills. They will just use some other dog's papers of the same breed. They don't care if they are show dogs they just will use them to make a lot of money.
If these are reputable breeders of show dogs, what is someone doing breeding a dog that has epileptic seizures anyway, as was stated about one of the pregnant ones needing a CSection. That condition is thought by most to be inheritable. That's not to say that this isn't a trajedy if the story is true.
I thought that about Vivi too. I posted about a month ago that I saw a brindle and white bitch at a show here in Ohio. I don't think the brindle and white is very uncommon though. But I thought someone in the show world or dog breeding business could certainly have her and passing her off as some other dog. Unscrupulous people are everywhere and the dog show world abounds with them too.
I emailed the handler and told him about those stolen JRTs in Charlotte earlier this year- that the people responded to a no questions asked ad and they essentially paid a ransom. I urged them to post the area, pay the ransom and then involve the police- last time not far from there they got away with it.
I don't think Vivi could be shown, anywhere in the world, her markings are too uncommon..They'd have to dye her to change her very unique appearance. I also mentioned a long time ago that someone could use her as a breeder and use forged papers.
I hope they find the little dogs that were taken. I remember the ransom thing Karen. Good idea you have!
This story appeared in The Capital Times on March 3, written by Doug Moe. Augie, the Sheltie puppy was lost on Feb. 16. Desperate, the owners contacted an animal communicator who "saw" the color blue. You have to read this story. I just found it in the newspaper and then found it online.

"Psychic, Detective Join Hunt for Puppy (WI)
Madison.com ^ | March 3, 2006 | Doug Moe
THIS STORY involves a Wisconsin blizzard, an Illinois pet psychic and a private investigator from Portland, Ore., catching a midnight flight to Madison to find a missing dog.
What more do you want? A happy ending? Read on.
One of the strange things about last month's snowstorm was the thunder. Thursday morning, Feb. 16, the snow was relentless. But while the temperature would plummet on the heels of the storm, that morning the air was mild enough to bring lightning and thunder along with the snowfall.
It was surreal, but for Tabatha Bell it was worse than that. It was the thunder that made Augie run away." SNIP
Libby - I was wondering about that also.
I do know the papers for my Tinkerbell and her brother, Cheech, were forged papers. I found this out when I called the breeder's name on the papers.
Doesn't matter though, she is "purebred love" to me.
Cheech too!
Here's another sighthound that badly needs our help. Annie was left by her owner in a junkyard after her right leg was broken. A family tried for about a year to catch her, and they have finally done so, but Annie has severe injuries and many obstacles to overcome, still. If you can, please make a donation to help her. Her story, and the site to donate, are below:

The breeder/shower of my dog (Sierra a doberman) took her to a specialty show, left her in the car along with his dog while he checked into a motel. In a matter of minutes the van was stolen with our dogs inside. We got everyone with cb radios to watch out for the vehicle and luckily a week later it was spotted with our dogs still inside. The dogs had been let out of the crates and were in fairly good shape. Good luck and hope you have the same results.
Vivi vision: 11-14-06
The blond woman opens the drapes in her living room and glances up and down the street.
Outside the wind blows autumn leaves across the sidewalk. The chill is too much for Vivi she fears. The woman reaches for the thick red-cable knit sweater and pulls it over Vivi’s head and snaps it under her curved tummy. Then, the woman clips on a thin leather leash to Vivi’s red rhinestone collar.
The beach is virtually empty, just a few seagulls, and not even the waves lapping at the cold sand disturb the gray stillness. The woman snaps the collar of her down jacket under her chin and they begin to run. The woman can’t keep up with Vivi and she tugs on the leash gently to rein her back.
Both are hot and tired and the gray sand and the steel blue sea erase all fear. Here they are free. Here they are safe.
If someone would post for their area at craigslist.org under pets that would be a good idea. I post one for my area in Htfd Ct but you can only do one per person - so if everyone would do one. A lot of people read their ads and it is free to post.
Thank You
These stories of the dogs being stolen - so sad and the poor dogs. I think my Dobermen are safe because they are big and who would steal them or my car with them inside? Well, I'm going to be a lot more careful in the future.
Sometimes I wonder if Vivi is in heaven, but as long as I get these visions of her being caught, then I share them. Brainstorming about how Vivi got caught - well that is a can of worms and best left off the blog. All I have are my visions past and present - and I wonder what the big picture is, but I do not know. No one has seen fit to share inside information with me - no one.
I do believe the sea in my vision is the east coast. That is a hunch and based upon the direction the ocean faces - east.
Interesting how this email makes absolutely no mention of where the incident supposedly happened! Where was the handler coming from? What highway? What town? There are thousands of rest stops in the country!
How sad - you guys think we can figure out a way to help this fellow:
Oregon Dog Survives Bullet Wound in Jaw
By Associated Press
AUMSVILLE, Ore. - A dog found in the mountains east of Salem with a bullet in its jaw and little meat on its bones has a chance to survive.
Phyllis Morris, a supervisor at the recently opened Marion County Dog Control and Shelter, said the injured pit bull _ nicknamed "Bullet" _ survived a month, maybe two, without supplied food or medical attention. She said the dog has gained some weight since it was brought to the shelter last week, but it's still 20 pounds underweight and needs surgery to have the bullet removed.
The dog was rescued by Lonna Chase of Lyons, who was hunting deer near Gates when she came across the malnourished dog.
"It was roaming around and making weird sounds _ I thought because it had a sinus infection. But he was very friendly," Chase said. "He was so skinny, and he wasn't vicious at all. I definitely knew I couldn't just leave him up there."
She tried to lure it into the truck bed with "about a half-pound of jerky." The dog, however, didn't have the strength to jump, so she threw her hunting jacket over the dog in case it tried to bite.
Chase took the dog home to Lyons, where she cleaned him up before driving him to the shelter. A veterinarian who happened to be there ordered an X-ray after feeling something in the dog's jaw.
"It was when he was looking at the X-rays that he found the bullet lodged in the dog's jaw," Morris said. "It's the diameter of a nickel and surrounded by bone fragment. It's just a miracle this dog survived, and we think he deserves a special home."
Morris and the staff speculate that someone intentionally shot the dog through the eye.
"Because of the directionality, we figured he had to have been shot on purpose, probably with a handgun," Morris said. "The shot came from above and points down. We suppose it could have been a hunter in a tree and that the bullet was a stray, but it really doesn't look that way to us."
Morris said the bullet remains in the dog's jaw, and bone fragments litter the tissue around the site. Morris said the eye can't be saved, but the socket and his sinus cavity can be repaired.
"What we're looking at is how to get him the surgery he needs," Morris said. "We don't have the funds to pay for the surgery, so we're hoping to either find someone who will rescue or adopt him and give him the surgery he needs, or find a vet who might donate services."
I am the one that posted about our stolen show dogs. I posted that Saturday just as quickly as I could drive home from Greensboro. I wanted to get something out quickly. There were details left out, I was understandably upset. They were taken at the rest stop heading east on I-40 between Hickory and Greensboro. The van was full of show equipment but they took only the dogs they did not take the crates only the dogs that is why they are believed to still be in the general area. The dog that is bred was NOT intentionally bred. She is co owned with another handler and he had her in Atlanta. He went to a weekend Softball tournament leaving her and her son in the care of another person who forgot she was in season and let Ellie out with her son. The co owner was not told till weeks later when she started gaining weight, The person who let them out then told him what had happened but it was too late to do anything. This dog did not have a long tern seizure disorder it had only occured with her last litter. If anyone has any information please contact eirher of us.
It's over 100 miles from Hickory, NC to Greensboro, NC. A mile post would help. A time of day would also be helpful. There has been nothing on TV or newspapers in that area. I've done a lot of traveling with show dogs over the years. I can ex a dog in under 2 minutes. Stop and think about it. How long would it take for somebody to break into a car, open crates, and remove dogs? Then carry 7 wiggling dogs to another vehicle? Actually it would be easier to steal them in their crates. Don't care what the signs say about "dog walk" area - my vehicle is NEVER out of my sight. Always check out other vehicles and people. Park as close to the building as possible. As with missing children, the first 24 hours are critical. Was the news media contacted? Reward offered?

My Mother-in-law, Claudia bred two of these maltese and owns one, co-owns the other. Above is a link to pictures of the dogs. Her contact information is also included on that site (it was originally excluded from the posts). She is understandably confused as to why the dogs were left unatteneded and is very concerned.
That is absolutly horrible! You can never be too carefl these days.
I ALSO FEEL VERY SORRY FOR THE STOLEN DOGS HOWEVER ALL OF THE SHOW/ BREEDERS I HAVE EVER MEET (AND THAT WOULD BE A LOT I AM A SHOW GROOMER) ARE SNOBS! ALL OF THE SHOW BREEDERS SHOULD THINK ABOUT THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPENING AND WHEN THEY NEED HELP WHEN THEY ARE BEING SOOOOOO HATEFULL!!!! THEY PUSH AND SHOVE YOU AT THE SHOWS AND ARE VERY RUDE AND NOT TO MENTION WHEN YOU CALL ABOUT BUYING A PUPPY FROM THEM... SO FOR ALL OF YOU SHOW BREEDERS OUT THERE YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU JUST MAY NEED THEM IN TIMES SUCH AS THIS.
Ackkkkkkkkkkkk and ackkkkkkkkkkk again...She's backkkkkkkkkk....ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...
Ruby, what is your problem??? Anyone who doesn't agree with the party line is marginalized. And who do you think you are? You are no more important than anyone else, but you act like you walk on water. Not everyone wants to drink the kool-aid and buy the bull that is handed out here. FU.
sick of holier than thou attitude...I had a senior moment and thought an old post was a new one and it gave me the vapors...........
You're right, I dont walk on water, but I do drink it pass it.
It's interesting that you're so interested in what I say..Get a job or a life or a dog to walk...
And BTW, I just love the way you ended your bit of babble...You're sooooo couth! I love the way you hang around and look for things to comment on. What ever would we do without you? ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk....or better yet, belch!
oh dear (comma)I'm going to get a lesson in correct
sentence structure (exclamation mark)(comma)
punctuation(exclamation mark) (period)
I'm doomed(exclamation mark, exclamation mark)

Update on the stolen dogs. The handler has disappeared. His house is empty. No sign of him or the dogs. Of the many people that have tried to contact him either by e-mail or phone, there has been no response. He and his boy friend are both on "My Space". (I thought that was for kids???
So this sounds like the handler took all the dogs? and made up this story. Where is he on MY Space, I'd like to see what he posts. Something doesn't sound right.
Sounds to me like the police should be in on this. The owner of the dogs must have some info on the handler, they usually are known by other people in the dog show world..Sounds like an inside job..and old job, but the dogs are prob. still alive, maybe sold. This is sick, I had forgotten about it until I saw that Tilly posted.
We all just thought that Storey had disappeared - he is alive and well and guess what - SHOWING DOGS!
He was spotted at the Greensboro, NC show on Saturday, August 11, 2007.
