Animal House

Vivi has been making herself at home in her adoptive borough of Queens, with multiple sightings in the Glendale area in recent days. They include:

July 4 - 9 a.m. - 80th Street and Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, drinking out of kiddie fountain in park.

July 5, 3 a.m. 75th Street and Atlantic Avenue, Cypress Hills.

July 5, 9 p.m. crossing Woodhaven Boulevard near Forest Park Drive, heading in direction of carousel.

Search coordinator Bonnie Folz asks volunteers to please concentrate posting fliers along and within the following perimeter area:

To the south: Jamaica and Atlantic Avenues

To the north: Metropolitan and Cooper Avenues

To the west: Fresh Pond Road, Cypress Hills Street and Bushwick Avenue near the Jackie Robinson (formerly Interboro) Parkway.

To the east: Lefferts Boulvard

For those who are unfamiliar with this area, it is relatively congested, with single-family frame houses as well as brick multiple-family dwellings. Think "King of Queens" and "All in the Family." This southwestern corner of Queens is home to many old, large cemeteries of various denominations, as well as sprawling Forest Park, which connects many of the areas where Vivi has been sighted.

Because of the media interest generated in recent days, searchers Rosa and Tina have had difficulty keeping their cell phone lines open to sighting calls, and would appreciate it if non-essential calls were kept to a minimum.

Multiple sightings - wonderful news! I've been following Vivi's story since this happened & I thought about her ALL weekend. I was worried about fireworks and them sending her in a different direction running scared. I'm in San Diego and I have no idea of the area. I really appreciate you describing the areas for us. Thank you so much for everything y'all continue to do for this sweet girl. I think of Vivi and the volunteers every day & I can't wait to celebrate her reunion :). It has been far too long. - thank you, thank you, thank you, each and every one of you!

God of Joy, We thank You for the press's revived interest in Vivi. We thank You for the safe return of so many volunteers after the holiday week(end).
We thank you for the beauty and unpredictability of Your Summer weather. We thank Your continued protection of our doggie trio;Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles. We thank you that Kathleen saw the article on Dr.Schiff. (With Kathleen's persistance, the good doctor doesn't have a chance of saying "no" to help for Madison.) Thank you again Sharon for your beautiful prayer and words. I had to read it to my mother. She got a good laugh. She calls that "persistance" of mine, "hard-headedness." I believe she is probably quite correct about this. She did tell me how much she loves me for being unable to accept "no" with regards to getting help for Madison. She said she feels sorry for Dr. Schiff if he does not return that call soon. She knows I will not give up until I talk to him.

If I do not hear from him or reach him, I have a free ride to New York in August with my friend Amanda, and a place to stay. So lookout Dr. Schiff, I will be camping on your Cornell doorstep!

Love you all so much for your kindness. How is McGee doing by the way Sharon? I hope well.

BTW, I sent Jill an e-mail to wish her Happy Birthday and got the sweetest e-mail back the next day thanking everyone for their help. Now to get our little wandering gypsy home to California!

What wonderful news to hear! Multiple sightings! What a relief, sounds as if she is pretty much staying put, now just pray that the angels guide her be rescued! I'm ready (as I'm sure everyone is) for a HAPPY HAPPY TEARFUL REUNION WITH her mom and dad!

THANK YOU volunteers and everyone helping in keeping Vivi's rescue plight alive in the streets (posting flyers and speaking with people), the media and in everyone's thoughts!(those far and wide)! Thank you for the countless hours you are putting in to reunite Vivi with her loving family!

Vivi - show yourself and be rescued - it's time to go home - you've had enough adventure.

Today I have such hope that Vivi will be going home soon. On the way back from my house in Sag Harbor (way out on Eastern Long Island) we were on a really empty back road in the Pine Barrens and I saw a stray dog running toward the car. It was desolate out there but we pulled over and the dog came right up to the car. I just had a feeling we would get this dog home. Got out and found some tags from a vet in Hampton Bays - they weren't in on Sunday but we stayed and called all the animal rescue shelters we could think of (Thank God for cell phones) After about an hour a car finally came down the road. We stopped it and the woman knew the missing dog. Owners were notified and he's back home now. I just needed to visualize my dreams that I've had for our girl these long months. Actually feeling in my heart that this dog would go home has made me know that VIVI will be doing the same. God (and all benevolent deities) bless all who have been searching. Grew up in Glendale/Forest Hills. There are good people there and it is a safe place.

Virginia - You are a very kind person to help this little fur baby. Your kindness will be returned many times. I have a feeling it may be a good sign that Vivi will be going home soon also.
