« Vivi now a 516? | Main | Flying High »

Take the side roads -- not

Elaine Benes of "Seinfeld" fame may take the Van Wyck, but with Vivi, my money's on the Cross Island.

Vivi's hopscotching around Queens at first seemed unfathomable: After lingering in the JFK Airport area for a month, she suddenly resurfaced more than 10 miles to the north, in Flushing. From there, she gained access to an interconnected parks system that let her bop from Kissena Park to Flushing-Meadows Corona Park to Alley Pond Park, and plenty of residential communities in between.

Last month, she reappeared in the Rosedale and South Jamaica communities that ring JFK Airport.

How did she invisibly traverse this oftentimes congested borough from top to bottom? Via the Cross Island, of course. The parkway, which runs north at its inception just east of the airport, where the Belt Parkway ends. It passes right by Belmont Racetrack as well as Alley Pond Park, and it terminates in Whitestone, one of the areas where Vivi was last seen before she reappeared in the JFK area last month.

Is it possible that when Vivi decided to head back to the airport again, she just jumped back on to this bucolic, greenery-shrouded parkway? Why not?

The most recent, albeit unconfirmed sighting of Vivi yesterday in Valley Stream was directly off the Southern State Parkway. The Southern State also connects with the Belt Parkway, which passes the airport: It heads east to Long Island, while the Cross Island aims north toward the Whitestone Bridge, its terminus.

For out-of-towners who want to understand the context of the Vivi sighting in westernmost Long Island, Nassau County is a suburb of New York City and is less congested than the borough of Queens, which borders it to the west. Think classic suburbia, with its neatly tended lawns, Levit-built Cape Cods -- and plenty of picket fences behind which Vivi could be contained by a quick thinker.

Though Nassau County does have a significant horse population, many of barns and stables are located on the North Shore, far from Vivi's current location. On the South Shore, with its proximity to the ocean and beaches, boating and fishing are popular.

Should Vivi continue her eastern migration on the Southern State, she could find herself in the mahvelous Hamptons well before the end-of-season Labor Day barbecues. Pushing farther eastward, there is Montauk and its iconic lighthouse, and then ... Portugal.

Good description Denise. Can you please speak to the owners and your friends about stepping up media coverage and ads in these areas? I think your Vivi plan makes sense.

Thank you.

Hope all of this is safer than Jamaica was!

Kathleen Stephenson in Memphis, TN

thanks Denise- perhaps that will help with Susans question in the previous post.
I gave this website
http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/

I prefer in in Nassau- and hope she stays on the South Shore away from the LIE. We have better beaches anyway ;-)

Vivi- come over to my house and play with my dog and we'll give you some good food!

Thanks Denise, for giving this out of Towner some geography of the area.
If the sighting in Nassau County really is her... it's a good thing she is an a safer area... but it's like starting all over again with getting the word out. I hope they are planning on hiring people to post... having just the very few remaining volunteers to post isn't going to be enough.

Oh my Lydia - is she near where you live - catch her girl - find a young, scantily clad nubile young male whippet for her

Susan- there are volunteers on Long Island too. And I'll bet more people come out and volunteer as it is closer to them than Queens was. Right Long Islander's?!

I was never sure where the different volunteers lived... i always thought most of them were from northern queens.

God bless all the foot soldiers. I sure hope we corral Vivi soon.

I think they were Susan- it is difficult for me at least to get where Vivi was after she left JFK which is near me - due to family health concerns. And I'm assuming others here in Long Island could have had similiar situations. But if she is here now that is a new ball game and opens the door for the Long Island contingent to get more involved -which now I can do! Come on LI volunteers-let's show em what we got!

Thank you Denise for the wonderful descriptions and map links.

Lydia - keep rallying the troops - wonderful to know so many love Vivi and are able to help.

Is Tina and Rosa from Northern Queens? The sighting is an uncomfirmed sighting, but if she really is there I think it'll make it harder for Tina and Rosa.

Does anyone know if there already is a listing of veterinary clinics along the Southern State Parkway, and animal shelters, that we can fax the new flyer to? If that hasn't already been done.

Also, the medical center --people come and go all the time to hospitals--and churches.

Sharon (MI) do you have a list of churches for this new area?

I'm way out here in Wisconsin, but will fax or email the ViVi flyer if it might help. Those with these *lists* let us know what is helpful, or if the lists need to be developed.

Barbara-Jean lives very near where Vivi was last sighted and she just called me that the flyer she put up is gone. We believe that the person who made the call took the flyer with him. Barbara-Jean is going to open her garage and the stinky bait hoping that Vivi will pay her a visit. Vivi, if you're out there, Barbara-Jean has some nice dogs for you to play with and I'm sure she has a nice soft bed for you to sleep in.

For any of our distant volunteers - with Vivi moving East we now need to replenish our supply of flyers. Anybody who has the time and wants to print some flyers - please do so. The flyer form is posted a few threads below this one. For those that don't have the address, please mail the flyers to me as follows

Diane Tamm
111 East Shore Road
Manhasset, NY 11030.

Yes, that's in Nassau County but over on the North Shore or the other side of Nassau County.

Thank you all for your continued support and please send whatever flyers you can.

Diane

If I can be of help in baiting her, let me know. I live in North Valley Stream about 10 blocks from the Southern State Parkway.

Lisa E.

Rumor has it that this sighting is based on a description of a dog being walked in Valley Stream that looked like Vivi. Is that accurate? We probably need to rule out other whippets, then.

Then could she still be near the airport? Just a question - And how far is this possible sighting area from the airport - hard to tell on the little maps.

This weekend, I'm getting an Atlas Road Map so I can figure all this out.

I heard about the guy walking the dog, too. I'm trying to find out if that was the "sighting" or if this was a seperate sighting. I live in Valley Stream and I'm going nuts right now!!

Lisa E.

I'm going nuts and I'm not even there. Where did I get a concrete canal vision from?

Lisa,

It is a separate incident.

Tara

Tara,

Do you know exactly where and when she was sighted? This secretive stuff is driving me nuts.

Lisa E.

Lisa, do you have Rosa's phone number to call her? I'd think she'd want to give you all the details since you're so close to the sightings.

No, I don't. Can you e-mail it to me? Lsielaw@aol.com

Thanks,
Lisa E.

Lisa, I don't have it but I believe all the volunteers do. Try emailing Diane T for Rosa's phone number.

Lisa,

Check your email for the phone number and more!

Regards,
Tara

Lydia, yes, show us what you Long Islanders have please make it a Vivi girl!!!! Denise, thank you for the discription.
Sharon your prayers are better than ever. Sorry about the rain folks.

Here is the website for Boy Scout troop in Valley Stream & environs where Miss Vivi may be: http://www.trcbsa.org. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to contact them inquiring about scout assistance with flyer distribution and get some material to them? A troop in Queens helped with distribution at Peck Park a while back. Maybe we can get them more involved. Worth a try,no? PS: The website also lists other district nearby.

Who had the dream about Vivi running after rabbits? I just walked through the Valley Stream State Park and I can't tell you how many rabbits there were hopping around.

That park would be perfect for her. Plenty of food and water with rabbits and squirrels to chase and also plenty of cover for her to hide.

Lisa E.

Bobbi,
Holy Name of Mary Church in Valley Stream has on of the biggest blessing of the animals ceremonies for St. Francis feast in the State of New York. I contacted Deacon Tony by e-mail, and will try to call the church tomorrow. I attached the new approved :) flyer, and asked that an announcement be made at Sunday masses. The congregation might be a good source of volunteers.
How did I know this being from MI? Our church has been trying to get it together for this kind of ceremony for the past 2 years. I researched what various churches did for their ceremonies, and found Holy Name. I don't know anyone there, but I'm sure a church with that kind of animal reputation will give it a good shot. How I remembered the name of the church, and how to find the address--God, alone, has that answer. I haven't had time to check other churches yet. Go St. Francis! Help team Vivi.

Very cool, Sharon. Do let me know if you need help with faxing or emailing.

If people want to volunteer to help put up posters, who do they contact?

Got my answer for how to volunteer to put up posters on the 516 blog.

Bonnie at pawsativebf@aol.com.

:)

Is Rosa's telephone number one of the numbers on the poster that was posted here in the past day?

One day I got lost in Valley Stream and ended up driving along the Stream which at that point was in a concrete, oh I don't know how to describe it, but sort of like a canal I guess. This was South of Sunrise Highway, not very near the Southern State. I don't know what the Stream is like North of where I saw it, but it may be in concrete at some places further North in Valley Stream as well.

Also, somewhere near Aquaduct Racetrack there is actually and aquaduct which is concrete that runs along one of the highways, maybe the Cross Island, but I think it was the Van Wyck. I'm not sure exactly where it is, but I remember seeing it once.

I read this blog almost every day, but seldom post because I really don't have anything to contribute, but prayers and good thoughts for the lost little Vivi. I hope that some of my recollections can be of some help.
Sheila

Hi Sheila,

Parts of the stream are edged in concrete. You were probably lost on Mill Road which is south of Sunrise. If you went further west, it does turn into a pretty nice stream that empties out into a bay.

The stream that runs through the park is more of a man-made stream. It dries up pretty regularly but there is a small man-made lake that I've only seen empty once or twice, and I've been living here for over 25 years.

If you are talking about Aqueduct racetrack, you are probably talking about the Belt Parkway. The Van Wyck is about a mile east of Aqueduct. The area that you are referring to is probably South Jamaica and parts of South Ozone Park and a section called Wakefield. Over the past few years, they've been building up that area quite a bit. I would imagine that the aqueduct you are referring to has either dried up or filled up to make way for all of the new construction that is going on over there.

Lisa E.

Sharon,
I emailed you. I like what you said about prayer dust. I want to be covered in it! With Love...Betty

Thanks Lisa E.
I was on my way from Forest Hills to Freeport when I saw the aqueduct and just assumed that that's how the race track got it's name, but I wasn't really sure where I was in relation to the track. I'm pretty sure that I was on the Van Wyck because I know the Cross Island pretty well and I would have remembered it from when I traveled the Cross Island often. This was completely new to me so it must have been alongside the Van Wyck. I seem to remember that the aqueduct was right under the roadway. Anyway, it was quite a while ago so I may not be remembering correctly.
Sheila

GREAT NEWS to those who wanted morning prayers! Betty Layne will be your voice in the morning-- kind of God's DJ. Trust me while you're all included in my prayers on the ride to work (about 30 minutes away!)I'm not too coherent. I do intend to be at 8:00 Mass at St. Mary's tomorrow to plead your case. For those of you who don't like the preaching, scroll past it fast. You won't get hit by as much prayer dust that way. Just love that sizzling noise when it makes contact. Back in a few with tonight's offering!

Psalm 42- 8 (NIV)
By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

Creator God, Father Almighty, Gentle Shepherd, WE PRAISE YOUR NAME! Rosa knew You were up to something-You guided sweet Vivi to a kinder terrain!
All is perfect in Your time. You have renewed the lost energy of Vivi's Angels. Please, compell some of them to return to duty, and cast their differences aside. Ask them to do it for You and one dear sister (Vivi) in creation. Thank you for the care, and protection You have shown Vivi, and her little buddies on the lam--Sniffles and Biggie.
Let them trust this weekend. Let them come home to their earthly parents.Let our trio, and all the homeless sleep peacefully under Your loving gaze. Let all the homeless know Your love through our acting in Your place.Thank you for the healing taking place in Susan, Madison, and Baby Girl. Thank you for the healing taking place in Dante, Murphy, and Felice. Send a special miracle for Nell, and support her owner Sue G. Support Yoda and Barbara Jean. Hold Duke in your arms and cuddle him, let him know that there are people who love and care about him--they just don't happen to sit on NY legal benches. We can't wait to see him one day, and let him know how much we care.Pair him up with someone who will spoil him rotten until then. Embrace all who will make the journey to heaven tonight! Crown them with Your love and glory. Find us a place when we end our journey. Don't lose us.
(We'll just take care of the animals.)Support and Bless all of the NYC foot soldiers, and Vivi's Angels. Let them hear Your voice as they discern Your will in reuniting Vivi with her family.Put them on a Path to see Biggie and Sniffles ,too.Send Your animal loving host, Your angels, and Great Saints Francis and Anthony to support and protect them. They honor You through their work for all Your animals. Thank You for all animal rescue workers everywhere. Bless their compassionate hearts!Let us sleep well tonight as we turn over the watch to You! YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!
Psalm 42:1
As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.

(Is there an actual stream(s) in Valley Stream?)
Candles anyone?

'Night!

There are two important feasts in the Jewish and Christian Religious tradition which are celebrated this weekend. Both are so appropriate.
Shavuot (Feast of Weeks)
*June 2 — June 4
Shavuot is the Feast of First Fruits on which Jewish ancestors used to go up to Jerusalem to praise YHWH for having blessed the first fruits of their land. This feast marks the giving on Mount Sinai of the holy Torah, the source of both spiritual and material prosperity, since blessing and abundance depend on keeping the word of YHWH.

Pentecost
June 4
“All those who are guided by the Spirit are the children of God” (Romans 8:14). Since we are all children of God, this is a challenge to us to listen to the voice of the Spirit within us, let ourselves be guided, and so truly find Peace.

New posting by Gail...sighting, Franklin Hospital, Valley Stream. Feeding station to be set up in area and also maintaining the one in Queens as Vivi may still double back there.

More volunteers need for posting.

Maybe she wants a good seat for the Belmont next weekend. :)

On occasion my JRTs will get loose (one can slip out of any cracked car window if he wants to badly enough). They always, always return to wherever they left from. So, perhaps the comments about returning to the airport are not too far fetched. I know she's a totally different breed than a JRT, but she is a dog. Mine usually look for people and go right up to them, knowing that they will call me to come get them.

Blessed Sacrament RC Church on Central Ave I would say i'd the closest to the sighting I think they are talking about.

My printer doesn't work...If anyone want to fax me something to bring to Trinity Lutheran around the corner (and I, fax is same as my phone....Of course I have flyers and the how to act around Vivi lit.)

I think the Belmont is today, June 3. At least it always USED to be the first Sat in June. The crowds will be huge, don't think she'll go there today...But when she was in Queens I often thought of her scooting over to Belmont, scenting the horses and the grounds (and chickens, and cats and who knows what else) She can take the Hook Creek route right up from Brookville/Rosedale, through Valley Stream - right down the road from my house - and up to Elmont. Unfortunately the track is on the other side of Hempstead Tpke, BUT I think there's an underpass from the Parking lot

I don't need Rosa's number, Barbara Jean reminded me it's on the old posters.....slipped my "mind" .
But then again one of the bloggers implied (off the blog) that I'm a "dried up old biddie" at 56. LOL.
Off to postings now.

Well Nancy this going to be in a few years dried up old biddie is going out in a few hours to post probably off Peninsula Ave near Sunrise/Merrick. Going to call Bonnie and see where she suggests. Also going to post down Rockaway Tpke near 5 towns in case Vivi comes that way.
Dried up old biddie? At 56? Imagine? Whoever said that must be senile! ;-)

Dear Nancy,

Where do you come from the conclusion that I think you are a dried up old hag? How would I know anything like that about you? Please don't feel bad and read anything into that because I was talking about myself NOT being one. Really, please don't be bitter about this. Why do you care what I think anyway?

Since you ridiculed my email address screenname I was trying to
defend it. I shouldn't have bothered. Looking back,
it was a stupid thing to vent about. Why do I care
what you think anyway?

I was just so shocked from what you wrote about me:

Tara's emails are often very unreliable. Loo at the name "Adorable 1"

********************

I
thought we were buds from our previous email
communications!!! That felt like a total kick in the
teeth for nothing. I never did anything bad to you,
so I didn't understand where the personal abuse came
from. I still don't understand why you made it
personal. However, I will not hound you for the
answer to this ever again.

Can't we let this become water under the bridge
already?

Instead of ignoring you or posting rude things to you,
I acted in good faith and respectfully answered
several questions from you yesterday on Team Vivi.

I would be happy if we could both have a "forgive and
forget" attitude from this point forward. If you are
going to find this hard to do, give me the word and I
will take you off my email distribution list and never
contact you again, nor will I contact you through the
Yahoo group or the AH blog or in any other way. It's
up to you.

Regards,
Tara

uh oh- I hope no one is mad at me (please let me go 1 day without someone being mad at me- it'll be a record!) for what I said. I did not know who said what and was joking about senility.
Peace, love and understanding.

Lydia,

Mad at you?? Naw. I don't even know why I am begging this person for "peace, love and understanding." When will I ever learn? I can be such a dork, sorry.

Regards,
Tara

This the address for Holy Name of Mary Parish in Valley Stream is it feasible for anyone to take flyers there?
Holy Name of Mary R C Church: (Rectory - 0.6 miles E - 55 E Jamaica Ave, Valley Stream, 11580 - (516) 825-1450)
I just talked to the pastor he said anything we sent could be put in the bulletin or they would post flyers. Fr. Tom implied(he was nice) that they get too many requests for announcements at Mass that they can't honor all of them. People this parish has a huge blessing of the animals in honor of St. Francis each October. What does this mean?
The place is chocked full of animal lovers who would certainly be on the look out for Vivi. Others might be willing to help you post!
Long story short- Can someone please get them some flyers! (No Fax machine)They're your kind of people!
First Mass is at 5:30 PM this afternoon.

Hey ladies - Sent this reply to Nancy by e-mail when I read her post. I will be happy to be the "dried up old biddie." See below.

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell in Memphis, TN

E-mail to Nancy:

Hey - They got you and I mixed up. I am 54 and with the arthritis I am definitely the "dried up old biddie." How dare you try to steal my title! My bones tell me I earned that title well.

Love Kathleen and Tinkerbell

Sharon I will run those over right now. Heck I'm still soaked. lol
hugs
B-J

B-J - I e-mailed Sharon also so she would know you were taking care of this. You (and Sharon C) are incredible. Vivi would be lost (for sure) without you. Thank you for your love and devotion.

Hugs from Kathleen and "Pillow-Stealing" Tinkerbell

"ALL WILL BE WELL, AND ALL WILL BE WELL, ALL MANNER OF THINGS SHALL BE WELL" (St. Julian of Norwich)

Julian of Norwich was a self imposed hermit of the 14th century. (There is a specific name for this position, but darned if I can remember it.)She was a "world balancer" someone who went off to the desert to pray for the world, and her only contact with it was when someone dropped off supplies. She chose as her only companion, a little cat. (I love dogs, but I like this woman's style.) St. Julian is considered one of the great mystics of the Church, and God spoke to her in response to her intercessory prayers with the words:(in addition to those above.)
"I may make all things well, and I can make all things well, and I shall make all things well, and I will make all things well; and you will see yourself that every kind of thing will be well. “All shall be well.” (Try to ignore that message!)
There are about 15 minutes left in the 3 O'clock hour. Shall we exercise a little knee power?
Oh, and all will be well.

I remembered the name for a person who volunteers to live in solitary contemplation- An Anchorite.
Who knows it may be the answer to the Jeopardy question that will win you a million bucks one day!

BJ, and Kathleen- Thank you, thank you, thank you, etc.!
You do know that Sharon C.and Sharon (MI) are the same, correct? Oh, no, the dreaded multiple personality! But, I don't ever post as both.

Thank you Sharon, I like the prayer...all will be well.
LOL... I learned a new word too.

Well put Sharon, well put Sharon, well put Sharon - ALL WILL BE WELL. I believe God's message.

Let's all get any "chips off our shoulders" and move on. Vivi (and many other animals) need us very, very much. Then ALL WILL BE WELL!

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell in Memphis, TN

Now Sharon, how could we not know both are the same person? That sweet, sweet spirit shines through no matter what the name. Thank you!

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell (who is presently all rolled up in my bed under my patchwork blanket with all four pillows - what a life)

Thought I would post two names also. lol Sharon Father Tom was saying mass according to the gentleman at the front desk. I left flyers and The information cards on how to entice Vivi. He said he would give then to Father Tom. I posted the church, school and area while I was at it.

Barbara-Jean

Thanks Sharon, Barbara-Jean & Kathleen!!! I'm so glad that got done! You guys are great!

Lois T (and my bed hogging cat Betty Boop!)

We could have a fundraiser of our own. Tinkerbell and Betty Boop westling for the bed and pillows. Bet Tinkerbell would win. My girl is tough (and spoiled)! She keeps my two cats, Bo and Booger, in line. Hey, Bo's namesake (real name Bo Jackson)was in Memphis at the Fed Ex Golf Classic. I threatened to take Bo to him as a welcoming present. Bet the real Bo would have been shocked.

Kathleen and the Tinkerbell

Has everyone seen the addendum to the "S" word? I like the word serendipity better than luck. Has anyone ever heard the quote: "Coincidence is when God works a miracle, and remains anonymous." ?

The fur would be flying, wouldn't it?? You should see me try to get some sleep at night. My husband hogging the bed to my left and Betty Boop hogging the bed to my right. I'm trapped in the middle with nowhere to go!!! And you should see the contortions I have to go through if I have to go to the bathroom!!!! It must be a sight!

Lois T

Sharon - That is a beautiful quote. I was thinking just now how much I miss the "old" Baptist hymns we sang in our little neighborhood church. Here are the words of one of my favorites:

"I come to the garden alone,
while the dew is still on the roses,
and the voice I hear,
falling on my ear,
the Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
and He tells me I am His own.
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
none other, has ever, known."

Reminds me of how much serendipity occurs in each of our lives while He is walking with us and creating those anonymous miracles.

It also reminds me of one verse I have to remember often. "Be still and know that I am God." In other words, I tell myself I need to stop trying to change things I cannot change and turn it over to God.

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell

Lois T - I am laughing so hard at this imagine in my mind. So glad I have no husband to hog the other side of the bed - I would never make it to the bathroom in time at night!

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell

The battle between who gets woken up and who gets to continue sleeping is usually won by - you guessed it - Betty Boop!

Lois T

There is a post from Bo on Delta Airlines.

What a great way to end a Saturday, loving the hymn, Kathleen has given and the phrase ""Coincidence is when God works a miracle, and remains anonymous." To secretly wanted web cams in the bedrooms of posters so I can see how a little dog can hog 4 pillows and how Lois T gets up in the middle of the night. Guess I need more prayer.

Ashley Perry left a Sniffles update on the thread Where oh Where... i just didn't want it to get lost.

Barbara-Jean - thanks for taking some flyers over to the church. I hope you've dried out. Let me know when you need more - I can deliver to you on Fridays pretty much for the rest of the summer. I'm printing some nice color posters right now - they were originally sent by one of our long-distance volunteers. You've got my cell phone number - call me any time.

Oh Martha, that would not be a pretty sight I'm sure - at least on my end. Still sick with my very sore throat and in my nightgown with my hair sticking straight out because have not hit the shower. A sight that might be too much on my end. I'm on the second round of antibiotics, have no tonsils, and yet have the sorest throat. Anyone got a cure. I want to feel better again.

I hope everyone is doing well. I come tonight with some sad news. You may or may not recall Susan A. She posted a few weeks ago and she's the one who had cancer. She lost her fight last night in the comfort of her own home. Her mom and dad were at her bedside and she was considered Hospice for just a few days. My plan was to see her tuesday and I had the flight all set up, now I'm going down for her funeral. I grew up with Susan Anderson and we were best friends, she moved out of state when she was 13. Either way she was my best friend. We were both watching over the Vivi story and praying all the time on the phone that Vivi would be found . Her love for animals was 200% , her love for herself was 0% it was always about helping someone else to her, she loved everyone so much and was the most giving person I have ever met. We are all sad about Susan no longer being with us and we will never recover but we know she's with us in spirit . I'm sharing this with you because I remember people writing her back on the blog and wishing her well, she seen it don't worry , she wouldn't give out her address because she didn't want the focus to be on her but on Vivi. She knew the end was coming and that was the only one time she posted, to remind everyone to appreciate their life. Don't be mad too long and try to stay happy. She said if she could be Vivi's guardian angel , she would. Todays she's not here but there, and I'd be lying if I said tears aren't rolling down my face at the moment, they are. 29 years old and gone so soon. If anyone has a special poem or some nice comments about a situation like this PLEASE send them along to me , I'm trying to make a beautiful gift for her parents that will make some sad moments not so bad. I miss her already ! To my best friend I love you forever ! if their is a way , she will watch over Vivi for us, she promised me that . Thank you all for reading and I hope we all take her advice, LOVE your life, love eachother , and ABSOLUTLEY love your pets. Rest in peace my friend , I will you to the very end !!!

I will ove you to the very end is what I ment , sorry my eyes are all blurry.

Jessica, I'm so sorry to hear about Susan's death. She was right. You have to live each day to the fullest and make sure your loved ones know you love them. 29 is much too young.

Jessica- So sorry to hear about your loss and Susan's passing. A card a friend gave me when my Dad died said:"Death does not extinguish the Light, it merely puts it out because the Dawn has come!"
Many thoughts and prayers are with you and Susan's family. Such a compassionate soul will live on in you and in Paradise.

Jessica - I am so sorry to hear of this sweet young, young lady's death. I can only imagine the pain you and her family are feeling. I will look for some perfect item to send you this weekend.

In the meantime, try not to cry and be sad. Susan is whole and well and with God tonight. A few years ago, one of my son's favorite teachers was murdered here in Memphis. I didn't think Nick was going to handle it. He went outside and laid in the back of his truck to sob like a baby away from Tommy and I.

Nick and I went to Clarence's funeral. Clarence was the nicest and kind black gentleman I had ever met. It was the first black funeral I had ever attended. Instead of it being a sad time and a time of moarning like I had always been used to at a funeral, his was a celebration of life. All of his friends, family and students spoke of what he had meant in their lives. There was beautiful music also.

Coming out, I was just about to tell Nick this is what I wanted my funeral to be like - to please not cry and grieve for me because I would be so happy in Heaven until I saw them all again. Before I could say anything, Nick turned to me and asked me, "Mom, why do we cry so much at our funerals and grieve so hard. They are with God." I had to tell him I agreed, but the people left back on Earth still missed them very, very much.

Shed your tears for the absence in your life, but give her parents a true celebration of her life. That will mean very much to them.

Hugs and many, many kisses from Kathleen and Tinkerbell

I HAVE BEEN OFF THE BLOG FOR ABVIOUS REASONS....WHO IS NELL?..HOPE ALL OF THE GOOD BLOG HEADS ARE DOING WELL.....I AM HOSTING A FUND RAISER AT THE GARDENCITY HOTEL ON JUNE 22 FOR BONNIE AND THE STRAYS....HOPE EVERYONE CAN MAKE IT.....BRIAN

Psalm 121 A song of ascents.
I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Father God, Brother Jesus, We have seen You in many faces and places today. Help us to recognize You in Your people and Your creation. Let us appreciate the people and animals in our lives as gifts from you. Watch over Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles tonight.
Keep them ever near, O You who never sleeps, enfold them in Your embrace. Let tomorrow be the day when they trust a human member of Your creation, and go home to their family. Thank you for continuing Your healing in Baby Girl, and Madison. Thank you for continuing Your healing in Dante, Murphy, Felice, and Cupid. Take Susan's hand as You lead her into Your Kingdom. Lead her away from pain, and let her be Vivi's (and Jessica's)angel. Greet with Your love, and Light the path to Paradise for all who will make the journey tonight. When it is our turn, be there with our animal buddies, and bring us Home.
Support Vivi's angels with your angels and saints. Let Francis and Anthony and Julian walk with them.
Bless those who were kind to them today. Let our faith in You grow as a result of this experience. Help us to be gentle with one another. Let us sleep knowing You never sleep. Let us praise You because YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!

Nell is a sweet doggie that belongs to one of the bloggers, Sue G. She is not well. Our blog encompasses prayers all over - from sick fur babies, to missing fur babies, to sick people, etc. Sharon does a good job of remembering them all in her nightly prayers.

Madison and Baby Girl are two of my requests. Madison was a near-drowning victim (little girl) who is in a moderate coma. I'll attach the link about her below.

Baby Girl is one of the small infants we work with at St. Jude who was brought in by PedFlight not breathing. She has been very sick in the hospital as well.
