"No news is good news."
That approach doesn't work well as a motivational tool, as any dog trainer (or human therapist!) will tell you. When it comes to learning and evolving, rewards and positive feedback are much more effective than punishment, criticism or just plain silence.
To that end, consider this ASPCA-sponsored petition that applauds Pennsylvania governor Edward Rennell for taking steps to rein in puppymills in his state.

Thank you Denise for the link. I gladly signed it.
Thanks for this very important thread on the blog. Oh what a glorious day it would be if we could stop this horrible treatment of God's creatures in these puppy mills.
I told my stepfather from Pennsylvania about this last night, and told him how proud I was of his Governor of his state. He just beamed. He laughed and told me, "I tried to tell you we Yankees could be really good folks." I told him I had found this out already from the people I was meeting every day on this blog.
Denise- Thank you so much for posting this. As a resident of Pennsylvania I am ashamed at what transpires in nearby Lancaster County.
The puppy mill business is disgusting and worse than you can ever imagine. There are many shopping outlets in Lascaster and I can't help but think about people shopping and spending money in a place that outright abuses poor animals so much.
Driving through the back roads of Lancaster is a nightmare. It is possible to actually hear the cries and suffering. A truly horrible situation.
PLEASE- I beg all of my blogger friends to sign this petition and forward to as many friends, neighbors and family members as possible. If we can end this in "the puppy mill capital" of Pa., other states are surely to follow. Then, this brutal business will be a thing of the past.
Thank you for posting this Denise.
If one signs up to the Humane Society of the US as well as the ASPCA you get alerts like this on a weekly basis- statewide as well at national petitions/alerts/news.
Here in the Valley of Ca. "Pit Bulls" are bred over and over again. I adopted a female pit that had pups in every heat of her young 3-year old body. She is a doll. My heart aches for the heartbreak that comes upon most unwanted puppies. Puppy Mills and useless overbreeding needs to be stopped by strict laws and fines.
and for those that want to attend a Party to save pets on June 11th click here- events all over the country:
http://www.partylaunch.com/partyanimals/findparty/index.cfm
On Sunday, June 11, you will have another opportunity to make a real difference for pets affected by natural disasters -- and for the families who love them. In less than two weeks, compassionate people in communities across the nation will gather at Party Animals house parties in support of the PETS Act, critical legislation that will protect pets during natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina.
Every step forward is a step in the right direction. These things have gone on way to long.
Superb update !!! Very promising even just in terms of # of people calling whether cofirmed or not its a great indication of the large number of people interested in the saga. There's no reason not to be optimistic!!!!
To those who follow the "Vivi Psychic" happenings:
I have received kind supportive e-mails asking me to stay in the two-hours between my decisions. I also received an angry one from one of our bloggers accusing me of being "evil" for my position of not wanting to read about the illnesses of our loved ones or friends etc. and accusing me of not receiving supportive e-mails. People simply would not do that in the two hours. Really? Maybe this person thought that no-one reads my gleanings.
I can't really apologize for my position and I appreciate that some do not understand, but I have to limit my interactions at this time when I am opening myself up to intense "Psychic Energy."
Many have asked me to me find Sniffles and Biggie too. I tried Biggie, and did post what I gleaned, but the sadness overwhelmed me, and I asked the blogger who requested the Biggie and Sniffles read to contact their owners and request that they try to "tone" down their emotions, a hard request I understand.
I did my best. And when Vivi was sleeping on the graves, I felt and tuned in to the latent emotions of those that mourned for the loss of their loved one. Needless to say, it was overwhelming.
It is not because of selfishness that I cannot read these posts or comment, and I hope certainly it is not because of "evil" intent on my part. Doing Psychic energy work is not like on television, where the Medium or Ghost Whisperer tunes into the energy, feels the emotions, and then smiles and makes love to their spouses. Really, can anyone do that. Switch emotions on and off with a smile? I can't.
I don't believe in sending angry e-mails to fellow bloggers.
Enough said. I certainly will not post this e-mail taking out their name, of course. To those that e-mailed me asking me to keep posting, thank you for your kind support.

P.S.(I just talked with my (ex) husband, who is an attorney, about my posting off thread to help with peace, and he reviewed the more recent posts on the threads. He said simply that people do not have to read each other and that is the best way to handle it. He did not see anything wrong with what I posted today.)
So I may come back tomorrow and post on the main thread. I will think about it overnight. I will address only my "Psychic" issues tomorrow - just scroll past what you don't care to read.)
Sending me angry e-mails and accusing me of being evil is not the way to gain my co-operation. You should know that by now.
So enough dissension. Tomorrow is a new day.
God bless all.
