Slouching towards Bethlehem

Up until now, I have taken a Darwinian approach to this blog, letting it evolve naturally and rarely if ever commenting directly on content people choose to post to it.

But instead of survival of the fittest, it seems this blog has gone in the direction of survival of the nastiest.

If you want to post cruel, negative and (from some of what I have seen) slanderous things about people involved in the Vivi search, do it on someone else's blog. I can and will delete entire postings or threads, as well as block the ISPs of people who cannot control themselves, or their egos. Believe me, I don't want to do this -- I have a family and a full-time job and a bunch of dogs that need my time and energy -- but I will not tolerate this any longer. Go pee on someone else's hydrangeas.

My point in creating this blog was to give people a place to learn the latest information about Vivi, and to communicate respectfully with one another. It was not my intent for this to evolve -- or should I say de-evolve -- into a place where people make themselves feel better or more important by denigrating others, or where a vocal minority bullies those who do not agree with them. If you want to do that, do it someplace else.

To the vast majority of Vivi lovers who have put up with this nonsense for far too long, my apologies.

Denise

Dear Denise,

I have followed this sight since VIVI was lost. I applaud your courage and need to post your May 30, post. I still sign on to Animal House every single day to pray VIVI has been found. I have been in awe of the anger too, I stopped posting. I have enormous respect, gratitude, warmth for all those who have given so much time to the search for VIVI, and that is what this is all about. There was a time we all marched to the same band, full of love, and support, and faith VIVI will return to Jill, BO, and others. It is sad some on this forum have made it a subconscious, if not conscious means to manifest anger of some kind. It certainly should have nothing to do with all those who have cared and supported all the efforts in finding VIVI.

To put anger in the mix will only impede the efforts of all the loving volunteers. Everyone continues to have my prayers and full support.

Warmly, Debbie

Thank you so much for this Denise. It's been needed for a long time. Maybe the swearing and hate e-mails will end too. I sure hope so.

Thank you Denise for offering a forum for those who care about this little dog, and the many people who love her. And, for axing the rest of the nonsense players.

Amen Denise, I used to post but I was fed up with all the nastiness and egos. My life is to full with our own rescue shelter to put up with all the bullying and shunning I encountered. Not a day goes by that I don't check the blog for updates on Vivi, My prayers are still for her safe return. I think it is a shame that something that started out so good turned so ugly. I hope things can return to the way they were at the beginning of this blog. I pray the Lord will give comfort and strength to all who search for Vivi.

I was stunned to read there are cruel people out there responding in this manner. Like others, I pray every day Vivi will be recovered and returned to Jil and Bo soon. I check this site at least once a day and have appreciated all the additional information I've learned about trying to recover a site hound. As the owner of two Labradors, food usually works for them, and the one is so needy, he wouldn't stay away for long, so I've been thankful to be educated about another breed...and to share that information with others. Please hold on to the fact that most of us do appreciate all you do and are so grateful for this site.

Thank you so much. I've had to grit my teeth over the harsh comments made against me. I look forward to the blog becoming a happier and more helpful place.

Denise - thank you so much for this forum to meet and find out and voice our thoughts on Vivi - I check this blog numerous times each day that I can. But, as you noted, it has become much more than what it ws supposed to be - only in a negative way - thank you for finally saying what so many of us have thought - and for not just shutting it down. Please block those that can't play nice and continue to let us gather here and hear news and ideas about the search for Vivi. Thank you again.

Thank you Denise.

Thank you Denise. Although we may not all agree and understand each other, there is a constructive way of voicing this and a destructive way of voicing this. Common kindness and consideration must always be used in this blog. Thank you for your attention to this. Maybe some of the other nice people who left before will come back and start contributing once again.

Thank-you Denise, Thank-you, Thank-you
A lot of Vivi supporters stopped posting due to the egotistical, maniacal, negative postings.

We were checking the strings looking for Vivi updates and skipping through the rest.

Let's all continue to pray and light candles and leave it in Gods hands. Of course posters and flyers are needed.

Siri-Calif

Denise, thank you for your post. Hopefully people will start to think before posting. There has been alot of people who were pushed away because of recent nasty comments made. I hope that people realize now, that they can be penalized for harsh comments.
Thanks for the updates, I look forward to seeing them.

Thank you Denise. There are too many people that have been chased off this blog byt the holier than thou group that chastizes those that doen't see eye to eye with them or thank them every day for all they do. I am so sick of reading the nastiness and bitterness of alot of the current bloggers. I swore after I was chased off the blog months ago I'd never come back but I do, cause I hope to read good news of Viv, Sniffles and Biggie. I've made some good friends thru the blog, not only with my own NY'er s but with people all over the country that are compassionate nice people.
I want to believe that all bloggers on here truly care about getting Vivi (Sniffles and Biggie) home but sometimes I wonder...

Please DO delete the hateful, self proselytizing, etc... posts - it is harmful to all of us and does not help Vivi one iota.
Sorry you have to take time from your busy life to babysit Denise -but again thank you. And Vivi, Sniffles and Biggie- get your faces out there - it's time to go home!
Lydia

Make that a second Siri. While not a first hand recipient of hate mail, I have received e-mail from people who have been targets. It all came to a head yesterday when someone I "talk" to regularly thought my name was on an e-mail list that sent her some hateful letters. We cleared that up quickly- I was obviously clueless as to what had been "said" to her. I usually come on late at night when I can post the prayer for both "coasts". I miss a lot of everything that way. Frustration over the length of Vivi's plight explains some of the behaviour, but I'm sure we'd all admit it can't excuse it.(I continue to believe all of our intentions are good.) Our goal is the same-- the recovery of Vivi. No more "swamp walking"- just put on a new pair of shoes and start in another direction.
Thanks for the forum Denise!

Lydia, I do believe this was in your post from this morning:

"Matter of fact I bet if some of you did find Vivi you wudn't give her back."

I would consider that hateful wouldn't you?

Thank you Denise- I was in NYC the day Vivi escaped and have been reading this blog since day one. Several weeks ago I called it quits because of the trend in blogging. I only check this site about twice a week just in case there is an update.....which there has been. Thank you for bringing civilty back to the seach for Vivi.
Carol from Maine

Let's let Denise decide what is hateful and let's move past these weeks of bad bumps in blogging.

Gail look at your email and let's keep this crap off the board. I will not waste this boards time fighting with you or anyone else.

I agree with all who have watched this site, holding their breath that we hear some good news about Vivi. I also applaud the work to save the Bulldog in bad company. The hateful people who send the hateful emails just do not understand what it is like to love and be loved by a pet. Keep doing the good work all you wonderful volunteers, someday Vivi will come home to her owners and she will be happy also.

I'm so sorry there are negative comments, but it isn't surprising, I suppose. Thank you for all you are doing to keep interested parties "in the loop." There is *so* much to be learned from this entire process.

This is my new email. We all need to forgive and move ahead, putting the past behind. Vivi and the volunteers need our prayers and support, especially our little miss Vivi. I think she knows we love her - all of us. I try to tell her to allow herself to be caught - maybe she will slow down now and listen - we'll get the good energy back.

I have been watching this site since the very begining. I have four whippets myself and I am very hopefull in Vivi getting back home! I check in every few hours every day. The people that are so negative just bring the whole group down. Give them this chance to be positve and helpfull or get rid of them. All the people that have worked so hard sure don't deserve all the negative talk! Lets be positive and see this little dog back to Jill And Rick.

Good night all...I'm off to see my ponies...

Here's some happy news to keep hope up:

Dog found after 2 years!

http://www.nhspca.org/press/GoldenGhostFound.pdf

Denise, thank you. I check many times daily hoping for good news. I do not want to disparage the efforts of any volunteer. But, it was painful to hear comments regarding Vivi's owners.

I am afraid I agree with their methods, as I have salukis, which would be a far greater challenge to catch than Vivi. They are just so independent and intelligent I know they would be aware if someone (man or beast) were tracking them.

Putting up posters and praying is all I can see to do at this point. My salukis are probably the most important thing on this earth to me after my family, but inaction is not always the wrong way to proceed. As much as we would like to, we can not always change a situation.

Patience is a virtue.

For the past several months I have been told Vivi is not your dog, Vivi is not your dog, Vivi is not your dog.

Well, it finally sunk into my thick skull. Vivi is not my dog and its time to care for the one I have at home, who has been neglected for the past 3 months.

Take care everyone and have nice summer!!

Thank you, Denise. I was so upset yesterday at the comments and I thought to myself, "Denise is not going to allow this." I'm glad you did something. I can't stand the harsh criticism of the owners (people hurting so bad already) or the organizers (people trying to handle this situation the best they can.) At the same time, I think the volunteers are great for all the posting, all their sacrifices. I wish I were there in New York to help. I know everyone cares for Vivi but some insist on making it a war among the people dedicated to finding Vivi. Hopefully, this will stop and everyone will be on the same team. Thank you Denise and thank you volunteers.

No more negativity from me! and there has been some-very sorry to all its so easy to be a back seat driver. enough said-- on a positive note I thought the blood hound tracker, if it could be kept under wraps with no publicity (NONE) MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA- might? if its low key by someone that knows feral sighthounds....peace to all- HB

Denise, thank you. You are awesome! Thanks also to all the searchers and people working nonstop behind the scenes for Vivi's safe return. Have been gone for the last few days and was planning on catching up with the blog a bit, but based on Denise's post, assume there have been some very bad days on the blog. No need to catch up on that. My thoughts and prayers are with all who hold themselves, each other and Vivi in positive light! Good night, sleep tight! Terrie

Not one sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. (Matthew 10:29)
Creator, You breathe life into everything that comes into being. You care for all that You have created, You have supported and sustained Vivi, Sniffles, and Biggie for the last months, and we are so grateful for that. They are amazing and resourceful because You have made them. It is no mistake that we have united in Your name to honor You by helping them. Discouragement, and a feeling of helplessness have taken over the group. We feel a need to express our frustration, rather than give in to tears. We need Your help,Father. We need Your peace, Father. We need Your hope Father. We don't want to give in to discouragement, but we're slipping fast. Show us what You would have us do.
Show us how we should pray. You have gathered us together Father, to help Vivi. Show us Your will so that we may serve You, and honor You through Vivi.
We ask, too, that You continue to protect and support these dogs. They are as Francis, and John Paul II would have called them "our little brothers, and sister in creation". Help us to continue to support one another. Stop the injustice being done to the little bulldog who deserves temperment testing, not euthanasia.Thank You, for the healing You are doing in Madison, Susan, and Baby Girl. Thank You for the healing in Dante and Murphy. Send a miracle for Nell. Support Barbara Jean in Yoda's Senior problems. Welcome all who will join You in Paradise this night. Let us one day join You, and can we please have our companion animals, too?(It wouldn't be Heaven without them.)
Bless and support the courage and effort of Vivi's angels. Send your angels, St. Francis, St.Anthony, and all Your animal loving host, to guide, protect,
and support them! They are amazing examples of Your creation! We're pretty needy tonight God. You made us, You know us. Bring out our best, and suppress our worst qualities. Let our faith in You grow as a result of this experience. We Believe, Almighty God, help our unbelief. We turn over tonight's watch to You! We thank you, YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!

'Night everyone!

Thank you Sharon. Just remember everyone there are three innocent dogs that need us to stay together and work together to get them home where they belong. We're all frustrated and the foot soldiers are exhausted so hopefully tomorrow we can start off with a better day.

Ty Sharon, night!

Did everyone check out the blog about Duke the English Bulldog puppy - please write or call to try to stop the euthanization of him on Wednesday

MaryL I can't send you email again.

Thank you, Denise! Thank you!! I so thank you for what you said and so appreciate it! I thank you for the site and what it was intended to be... hopefully we can now get back there to the positive place it was. Thank you, Denise! I am so glad you stepped in. Truly am. I think I will now go back and "brave" the posts... Keeping the Faith, Marnie in CA

Denise, you're my hero. Thank you so much. I'll be forwarding your posting to our friends (you know who I mean) who don't come onto the blog.

HB, I don't know whether or not you saw Bonnie's posting but the owners have decided that we will not be bringing any more search or scent dogs in to search for Vivi. They feel that those dogs may be pushing her away from her safe area. Right now we're just going with sightings and postings and waiting for her to show her cute pointy little black nose.

Just curious here. It appears the foot soldiers are dropping off like flies. What's going to happen when there are no more volunteers to post flyers. I wonder if certain people(won't name any names) would come in and continue the posting. I think I already know the answer. What I don't understand is how can track dogs run Vivi off from a safe area. She is around dogs 24/7 and I truly don't believe she has been in a safe area since she escaped. All I can say is Thank God we still have a few volunteers who have put their life on hold to continue posting flyers for ViVi to be sighted. I'm not trying to be mean here just posting how I feel.

NOT VOLUNTEERS-NO POSTING-NO SIGHTINGS
GET THE PICTURE

I meant NO VOLUNTEERS

Marty, just because the volunteers aren't on here posting day after day, night after night doesn't mean that they've stopped hanging flyers. From time to time we all need a break, time to recharge.

At home Vivi is not around dogs 24/7, she's around horses while Jil is at work. She does have doggy playmates but I don't know how frequently she sees them. To answer your question - these are strange dogs invading her territory.

Marty, I don't know where you're located but you're more than welcome to visit NY to help us. We've already have people come in for a long weekend from Mass, Florida and California to help with posting.

Diane,

You forgot ViVi is not at home. She is in New York. Diane I am helping the volunteers. I'm on the phone everyday calling and faxing flyers so people still know that Vivi is still missing so I do feel like I'm helping out. I can send you sheets of phone numbers so you can start calling people also if you would like to help. We have alot of territory to cover.

Pardon me Marty, but I spend my evenings printing flyers so those on the street can post. My truck is full of flyers and I'm making a delivery of supplies tonight.

Could you please e-mail me the flyer that you're sending so I can review it. If faxing is better let me know and I'll give you my office fax number.

Thanks.

Marty there are alot of us that were bullied off the blog that ARE doing things and volunteering either here in NY or from where ever they live. Just because we don't post what we do doesn't mean nothing is getting done. There are many "unsung" volunteers that don't want/need thanks or feel the need to post what we do. Plus we got kicked off the blog so much we email amongst ourselves rather than get flamed here. Now that Denise has made it civil again I think you'll see alot of us come back. (Btw- THANK YOU DENISE for all you have done/are doing/ continue to do-kisses to pups and proud parents!)

Do not worry we are out here and we are going to get Vivi home!
Lydia

Diane & LYDIA

NO COMMENT. NEED I SAY ANYMORE. GOOD DAY EVERYONE.

Marty, I made a simple request since all flyers that are being used need to have the proper language. I'll ask again - could you please e-mail or if you prefer I'll give you my fax number - a copy of the flyer you're distributing in this area. I don't think this is an unreasonable request nor do I feel it should be ignored. Thank you.

Everyone -

Why don't we ask Denise to update all posters, flyers, cards, etc. and post again for everyone. This would be a great help, and everyone could just print off what they need if they do not have access to the ones already prepared in New York.

We have this internet site to help us (thanks to Denise), let's put it to effective use and not feel like one person has to be in charge and argue.

Denise, hope you are out there, could this be done to help with the search? Also, could we put flyers for Sniffles and Biggie out there as well. Thanks again for your help.

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell in Memphis, TN

That's a good idea Kathleen. Hopefully Denise isn't too busy to do that.
I do not understand why people get ticked off if this one or that one- no wait the other one ;-)is "in charge". Aren't we all aiming for the same result? The important thing is getting Vivi (Sniffles and Biggie) home to their parents. And doing it so as to not scare them into going into running and hiding more so than they already are. I think the ways outlined by the owners and those they have placed in NY I guess in charge are easily followed and hopefully will give us the desired end result. And I wish and hope the result is soon!
I agree with Kathleen that it would help if the flyers were someplace that we could all access and then print off as needed.

I get a sense that Vivi will be moving back North soon. She doesn't like it much where she is now. I sure hope she wants more "Chicken" from those little tents.

I feel hopeful that she will be caught soon - no psychic insights here, just a feeeling - because she is so "homesick."

Since I have the flyers in PDF and would be the one to send it to Denise for posting, all you had to do was ask.

I already have Sniffles flyers and have been asked to hold on to them since the apartment is already full of flyers and at this point they don't need any more. I don't have any flyers or a PDF for Biggie.

One of the many things I've been asked to do is to check that the flyers that are being used/distributed/posted, etc. have the proper information. We have changed the flyer a few times and it's essential that the current flyer be used. That is the one and only reason why I've asked Marty to send me a copy of the flyers she's using.

Yes Diane-thanks for sending it to me last week- it's great that I can run off copies when I want- that way I'm all prepared to go and post them anytime I can. So long as we check to make sure they are up to date I think Kathleen's idea of a central place online to get them is a good one.
Does anyone know how the sale of tickets for the Bonnie & the strays/Vivi benefit in June is going?

Ashely-if you're out there. 2 more goody bags for orphans on way to you. More sock toys to come (th socks are endless!)!

In case you guys in NY haven't seen it in previous posts - and in case you weren't on the blog but have now returned - I just want to say - THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HUGE HEART for all that you have done and continue to do for that precious Vivi girl. I would like to see you all return to the blog since it seems to be almost back to how it was - it was fun to read the chatter back and forth amongst you guys. I really miss that.

Here is another good animal cause to protect the polar bears. I hope this link I will post works, but if not you can find the post by Googling "boycott Exxon" I believe. It seems the drilling is endangering the habitat for these polar bears. Thanks all your animal lovers out there.

So many choices of places to post, I choooose this one. Do you know it's hotter in Canandaigua NY than it is in Nashville TN. I am so glad Mario, is home. All you gals are just awsome humans. Going to get cool now, Vivi, if you find a nice volunteer you could get a ride in an air conditioned car. that would get me!!

I've experienced no heat hotter than on the east coast, except for in Missouri, and I suppose Memphis is like MO, not even the heat of Mojave Desert comes close to the horrid, at times, temps, on the east coast when I lived outside Philly for a couple of years. I took so many showers to cool off that my skin peeled.

Starting a bit early this year isn't it?

The closest I have ever felt to having a heat stroke was in St. Louis, Missouri in August. SOOOO HOT! The other was in Nashville, TN at a UT game. Thought I would die before I left that game. Memphis seems to have more shade trees you can camp out under when the heat is unbearable - but still TOO HOT!

Give me San Francisco any day. My kind of place!

Checked the weather for Flushing New York and it's 70 degrees now, high was 77 and mostly cloudy... not too awful today... I know the humidity makes it feel much hotter.

Ha! Ha! I've seen San Fran so cold in the summer that even a coat wouldn't keep the wind out as it blew across a fog-shrouded bay. I wanted away from the valley 110 degrees and couldn't drive fast enough back home.

But on a clear day, no fog, SF can be wonderful in summer.

The hottest I've seen in the valley is 114, and we spent that summer in the community pool and didn't venture home to our relic of a Victorian no-ac apt until well after dark. Needless to say, my dogs stay inside during the summer heat and I keep the ac on too set at 78. Now are they spoiled or what?

Hey - Tinkerbell and I live in 70 degrees at home. My stepfather always ask me if I am running a home for Eskimos. He teases me and goes into the bathroom and says the toilet water is freezing. I cannot stand to be hot in my house and neither can Tinkerbell. She's a hot little Chihuahua (or JRT)(or both)!

Hey Martha , I'm in Rochester , kind of funny that we are both here. A heat stroke is what I almost had when I was on vacation in Manchester TN. I never thought I was going to live through that day... YUK ! I'm glad everything has "cooled " off on the sight . Seems like we are in a better place and thank you Denise for making it possible again. For a while things really looked grim . Bonnie, thank you for letting us know about the meeting and keep your head up no matter what anyone says ! That goes for ALL of you , you are doing a great thing for this little dog and I hope you get her soon ! Sending prayers from Rochester to ALL of you .

Here is one site I found with the door hangers. Their prices seem very reasonable.

http://www.doorhangerplace.com/

I'm going to e-mail this also, but Lois, Meri-Lou and Elizabeth, here is probably the cheaper way to go.

This is the blank door hangers (with the hole and slit precut) in sheets (2-up on a page) that can be run through any laser printer. If you are willing to go for black and white, I could do a bunch with my laser printer at work (2-sided baby). All we would need is to trim the sheet into two (and guess what, I also have access to a heavy-duty paper cutter to trim into two clean door hangers.

Here is the link.

http://www.blank-doorhangers.com/

Kathleen:
Sounds good to me, the door hangers. I remember someone, but don't remember who that someone is, mentioned prices several times..I looked, but can't find the prices she mentioned.
MaryL-California

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but I'm an appraiser in Queens. Do you have any idea of just how many houses there are in the areas that she has been sighted. I have access to assessment records, and there are over 7,500 one to four family homes in just 11358 zip code - which is just one section of Flushing. You would have to hang thousands and thousands of these things on thousands and thousands of doorknobs. The 7,500 isn't even including apartment buildings and coops.

Please don't think I'm trying to put a damper on anything. It's just that you are probably looking at over 100,000 houses. I would be more than happy to run some data to get a better estimate in the areas that she's been sighted. You can e-mail me the zip codes that you would be interested in and I'll come up with a number - if it would help.

BTW, I was in South Jamaica today and saw something run across the lawn of the South Jamaica Housing project. I almost ran into a pole thinking it was Vivi, but it was a cat!!!!! LOL

Again, I know how things get misinterpreted on these boards. I'm just trying to help.

Lisa E.

You dont have to do every residence . As a suggestion you could do some percentage per block and at the bottom say "Please tell your neighbor"

hb good idea. Lisa E. thanks for the info. It is a bit discouraging I am sure, but I think the statistics would be good to have. To me, this would just help support the use of ads in the newspaper all the more. Seems like with those figures ads are not a luxury, but a necessity.

Since you know these areas, perhaps you could give some good direction of what newspapers you would recommend, and any other means of communication.

I still feel items posted on buses, in airports, subways, etc. might be worth considering.

Never been to New York, so it is hard to imagine how massive it is there.

O good shepherd, seek me out, and bring me home to thy fold again.
Deal favorably with me according to thy good pleasure,
till I may dwell in thy house all the days of my life,
and praise thee for ever and ever with them that are there.

St. Jerome (c. 342-420)- This is the saint folks that walked with a lion by his side. The original
"Androcles", Jerome, according to legend, pulled the thorn from the lion that was terrorizing his monastery. They became fast companions. He is another animal lover! While I doubt that any of us would think that he/she was a candidate for canonization, if you love animals you are good company.

Best Shepherd, the God who not only made the world and all its creatures, but took joy in protecting and nurturing those He created, We lift up a prayer on behalf of Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles. Continue to nourish and keep them safe from all harm! Bring them to someone they can trust (one of the NYC angels?)and help that person to bring them home to Jil and Rick, Sharon, and Ashley.Let them sleep safely warm and away from the thunderstorms- let them be cradled in the arms of the creator. Thank you for the healing which is taking place in Baby Girl and Madison. Thank you too for the healing taking place in Dante and Murphy! Bring miraculous healing to Nell. Show us,and teach us, the way in which You wish Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles to be rescued. Comfort and uplift us when we become discouraged. Embrace all who will join You in Paradise this night! Unite them with all who have gone before. Count us as members of Your flock when it is time for us to journey home. Let this journey with Vivi serve to increase our faith in You. Bless and keep from harm all of Vivi's angels. Reward their efforts By letting them see and rescue our little ones. Send Your Angels and Saints to support them in their pursuit of this graceful whippet. We give You the night watch Loving Father. Let us sleep well knowing YOU ARE IN CHARGE.AMEN!

'Night all!"

I still like newspapers, so many people look in the Lost and Found for their lost pets..
MaryL-California

of course flyers also, whatever might work I'm all for!
MaryL-California

Agree with Kathleen that doorhangers should be supplemented with posters/flyers and if Vivi still in South Jamaica, handing out flyers at subway and bus stations may be good way of getting to large groups of people coming into and leaving the area, particularly in AM & PM. Only problem of course is getting the man (or womman) power to do this as most if not all volunteers have full time jobs. So we are back to considering hiring distributors, which was, I think, discussed sometime back and researched by?? (Beth, perhaps?). Additionally, lost & found ads should be placed in new sighting areas served by the local newspapers such as "Chronicle", et al.

Based on the negative feedback I have received about the lost and found ads, I have taken out in numerous papers over the last month, I will longer be able to financially support this effort. If anyone wants to assume this responsibility and would like a list of the papers I have posted in, just email me and I will supply you with the list and the cost associated with each one.

Meri-Lou - sorry about the negative feedback - I thought it was a greyt idea and a wonderful service that you took on - I commend you for that. Sometimes you just can't do anything right - no wonder everyone is leaving this effort. I thank you for everything you did and continue to do - for somone not being in the NY area - you were as big an influence - if not bigger - than those that are in NY. God Bless You

MERI-LOU,
I second kathy in Colorado. I'm sorry that all your hard work was not appreciated, although it was by most of us.

Meri-Lou - I third this thank you. I think your idea was not only a good idea, but an idea that "was" drastically needed. I believe time will show this to be a very big mistake not putting Vivi in the newspapers. New York is far too large of an area to cover on foot, and that is where your newspaper ads were filling in big time.

I would not be surprised in a few weeks to see the Vivi fund being used for this again. Thank you for your kindness and generosity though - it has been overwhelming.

Hugs from Kathleen and Tinkerbell

Psalm 63
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.
1 O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

The Three O'clock hour is a very sacred time in many religious traditions. Could any of you who are reading this within the next hour please take the time to pray for Vivi. Without being alarmist, or negative, there is no denying that the Summer will bring on many dangers of its own for Vivi. Reality often brings a need for God and prayer. "Luck" will have nothing to do with Vivi being found. God and human generosity will.
Believe it or not God enjoys it when we "pester" Him with prayers for a special cause. Sometimes it's the only time He hears from us. I think He hopes that when He answers those prayers, He might hear from us more often. Use your own words or last weeks Vivi prayer.
VIVI'S PRAYER
Prayer Just For Vivi-
Gracious Father, You are Creator of Heaven, and Earth, and all that has life and breath. We raise in confidence a prayer for Vivi. This graceful dog of Yours has reached a turning point, and may be heading into unsafe territory. Send her to the person You've chosen who can bring her to safety and home. Vivi's angels; Your human hands and feet in New York, are now carrying St. Francis',and St. Anthony, medals or cards with them. They are doing this to honor and acknowledge You, Almighty Father, and to pay tribute to our human brothers Anthony and Francis. These holy men honored You through animals just like Vivi. We thank You for sending us the miracle we have been waiting for. We thank You for keeping Vivi safe. Author of Creation bring this story to its happy ending. Lead Vivi to safety, Bring her home to Jil,Rick, and Paul. We ask in Your name, and in the name of Your compassionate Son, Jesus. All is in Your Hands Father, YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!!

***Now I have a very important request to make. I don't want to come on the blog to hear and read negative remarks about "Those Who Have Left Us". They have no voice to reply. There have been "rumors" that the hate e-mails have flown in both directions. I only hope and pray that this is not true. I cannot in good conscience see this go on. I am sure Denise acted in the way that she did so that everyone would get a fair break, and noone would have to read negativity about anyone.

Sharon-You are so kind and thoughtful that I had to post. My reason for not posting is my choice-not because anyone is stopping me. Your prayers are a comfort to everyone who reads this blog just hoping for good news about Vivi.
