On Thurs., June 22, Posh Nightclub at the Garden City Hotel hosts a Charity Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction to benefit Bobbi and the Strays.
For those who have been on the Vivi trail since its earliest days at JFK Airport, Bobbi's outpost in the airport cargo areas was a frequent meeting spot and "refueling" station for posters and flyers.
While Vivi eventually headed northward, Bobbi and the Strays continues to do its quiet, unassuming work, helping homeless dogs and cats in this under-served area of southeast Queens.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bidding begins at 8 p.m. Ticket price is $35, which includes buffet and one complimentary drink.
Alas, hotel magnate Brian Rosenberg is happily married and will not be on the block.
For ticket information, email egiurco@optonline.net, or call (516) 679-5556.

How is our treasured Brian???? Hope all is well with him and his and I just assume that he is quietly there, not publicly on the blog, obviously, quietly working for Vivi. I miss his messages, and keeping us all in line, the humour and balancing sanity, but totally understand his quiet stance. But, want to say, hey, out there, Brian, if you are reading, thank you for everything and everything I am sure you are probably doing behind the scenes and all that you have done! I will not lose the faith for Vivi and send good wishes to all involved in this fundraiser for Bobbi and the Strays! Keeping the Faith, Marnie in CA
Denise,
Love these pictures of your adorable canine grandchildren. Enjoy. I'm sure the fundraiser will be successful. Miss Brian's notes on the blog, but I know he is working hard and helping to get Vivi back home. Love to see pictures of the proud parents. Susan
I wouldn't have a problem with this and I'd even buy a ticket but since I know who the Treasurer is for Bobbie and the Strays I can't, in good faith, give more money to them. I'm sure my donation won't be missed. Maybe with some luck the volunteers will get more help out of this.
Wouldn't this be a good opportunity to sell Vivi T-shirts just as was done at Brian's previous fundraiser?
The monies raised could be used for flyer posting supplies and gas money for the volunteers. One of our faithful Vivi volunteers could man a table at the event selling the shirts, thus ensuring that the funds would go directly to the Vivi search efforts. Also anyone wearing the shirts is a way to get that all-important Vivi-is-still-missing message out there.
Just a thought...

I'll be there with bells on. Bobbi does great work for all stray animals and deserves our support.
My 2 cents of course so no need to come back at me with daggers (tone of this blog lately sorry to say).
I hope to meet a bunch of you there!
Lydia
Barbara,
That would be great, if once the funds go into the Vivi Search, they could be spent for her..Seems like its hard to get any money for anything the volunteers want in finding Vivi.(I could be wrong..) )o:
