Vivi breeder Bo Bengtson writes:
<<UPDATE TUESDAY, MAY 16, 2006
Apparently some well-meaning people are planning on hiring their own “pet detective” with tracking dogs in an attempt to find Vivi. Please be aware that this is not something that anyone has discussed with Vivi’s owners or breeder, nor with the people in New York whom we have agreed to let us help with the search effort. While we are very grateful to everyone who wishes for Vivi’s safe return, we absolutely advise against any independent efforts to “catch” or track her down. The only thing such an effort is likely to achieve is to frighten Vivi further, perhaps even make her leave the area where she has obviously learned to cope and survive on her own. The results of this could be disastrous, exactly the opposite of what you intend.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for how Vivi might be returned to us, please let us know. Chances are that we have already tried what you have in mind, but we appreciate your suggestions. We have at this point tried everything that is realistically possible (and a few things that probably weren’t) with no success. We have already used three different pet detectives with tracking dogs on at least four different occasions, and it was useful to learn that the tracks showed that Vivi had in fact been in the area. Tracking dogs will not catch Vivi, however. We didn’t expect them to; nobody who knows anything about lost dogs would believe that Vivi will come up to anyone who is following her with tracking dogs.
All this doesn’t mean that we don’t have plans. We do, but they certainly do not involve scaring Vivi out of the area where she apparently now is.
If you care about Vivi and want her to get caught, please do not do anything without discussing this with us first. As we have said before, the ONLY thing you can do – other than put up flyers and posters so the local residents know who Vivi is if a miracle happens and she’s accidentally caught – is to sit on a park bench with your lunch and maybe a small, friendly dog as company... and keep watch. Even if you should see Vivi you should not try to catch her until you are absolutely sure that you can do so. She is much faster than you are and extremely wary since there have obviously been many who chased her already.
See the guidelines below for how to act around Vivi if you really want to get her back.
Thank you!
Bo
HOW TO GET VIVI BACK...
Guidelines for How to Act around a Runaway Dog
The following applies to most dogs that have gone "wild" and do not want to be caught.
The bottom line is: you cannot "catch" a spooked Whippet. Attempts to chase, catch, surround or contain Vivi will have the opposite effect, scaring her further away.
If you see Vivi:
1. Do not get out of the car close to her, don’t slam the car door and don’t call her. You will only frighten her further.
2. If possible sit down on the ground, eat something (noisily!), share with her if she gets close, drop some food on the ground. Talk to her gently and casually, as if you see her every day and don’t care that much about her. Don’t even look at her. If she lets you, pet her gently but do not try to grab her. She is much faster than you are and cannot be caught until she wants to.
3. You should not have a big or noisy dog with you. If you have a calm whippet or small dog on a leash and Vivi is nearby, make a big show of feeding your dog. Nothing makes her hungrier than seeing another dog eat.
4. Do not walk directly toward her; avoid eye contact; act casual but friendly. Not until you can quietly put a strong leash with a choke collar around her neck should you try to do so, and don’t even do that if you are not experienced enough to deal with a dog that might easily panic.
5. In a best case scenario, quietly close a door or gate (a tall one, she can probably jump 6 feet if necessary) behind her. If not, just making non-threatening contact is a huge step forward, and establish a place where she can be fed.
6. The most important thing right now is that Vivi should not feel chased or "hunted" so she doesn’t feel like you’re moving into her comfort area
7. If you catch Vivi, put her in a car or safe room ASAP. Make sure nobody accidentally opens a door. Be calm and quiet, don’t scare her and CALL 1-877-JFK-VIVI (1-877-535-8484), or 917-626-1374, or 516-776-0923 - IMMEDIATELY!
Losing Vivi after "nearly" catching her will make it even more difficult to instill confidence in her again. She has most likely been chased by more people than we know who grabbed for her in misguided attempts to catch her. Much better to encourage her confidence by feeding her, leaving her alone and petting her if she lets you — until you are SURE you can catch her and put her inside a car or a safely confined area. >>

Bo- I hope people will listen to you but seeing the direction this blog has taken over the last few months I fear they may not. I also hope even more that Vivi befreinds some kind soul that will call you so you can come take her home very very soon. Perhaps someone from this blog that has been patiently and quietly helping to look for her!
Don't give up hope.

I think the reason some people may have apparently -perhaps-taken things in their own hands is because there is a leadership vacuum. Although I also gather this is based more on innuendo than on facts. Honi has done very little coordination so people out there looking seem to feel used and abandoned. Yet they love animals and can't stand the thought of one lost, alone and the search for her so mismanaged. I am far away so I am not talking about myself and this is just a general observation. The more coordination and information there is, the less of this kind of thing would happen. There need to be regular meetings among the searchers at the searcher's convenience. It doesn't matter whether the blog gets that information or not but they need it. They all need to be on the same page and because there has been so little organizaton and information coming from the leader they feel like following her is hopeless. I understand she is a volunteer too and that she has spent time on this and means well, but she needs to change her way of thinking about the helpers or she needs to hand it over to someone willing to actually coordinate. I would think it might even be a relief for her. Then there wouldn't be separate groups doing separate things. Just my two cents.
Karen, your two cents is appreciated. My turn - I am neither going to justify nor criticize anything that anybody is doing - rather I would like to just state my opinion without being yelled at, receiving hate mail or being told to go back into my corner. That being said
I don't think that anybody is supposed to be out there trying to catch her. Rather, they were supposed to be keeping Vivi's presence alive in the eyes of the public. I understand that people are frustrated, so are we. However, I would say that the majority of people here are from out-of-town. They are probably even more frustrated than we are. We have access to Tina and Rosa and some of our faithful volunteers do keep in touch with them, if not on a daily basis then every other day. As you know, there are feeding stations set up out there and yes, in Gail T's absence they are being checked. I don't know if any creature has been eating the food but if they were unless it's the station where the motion camera is set up we'd have no way of knowing whether it was Vivi of Rocky Raccoon.
Karen, you said regular meetings at searchers convenience - since most of our volunteers work it's difficult to get them all in the same place at the same time. What may be convient for one or two may not be convenient for others. I know that I, for one, would have a difficult, if not impossible, time getting together in the evening after work what with taking care of my own animals, etc. We have had numerous gatherings at Peck and Utopia but unfortunately not everbody can make it for whatever reason. Last Saturday even though we said we'd be there from 9 to 12 we were there until 3 but because of family obligations some people who had planned on coming out just couldn't. As much as we love Vivi and all want to get her back home we must put our own families first and I don't believe that he owners would expect any less from us.
It's been my observation, and this is my opinion, that there are many well meaning, compasionate, concerned people out there that just want to do something, anything, to help. Much has been done and/or considered but hasn't been made public. Heck, there are things happening that I don't even know about. I can't tell you home many times I've called Tina and Rosa and they tell me we'll call you back - if I had a dime for every time they told me that and didn't I'd be a very rich woman.
I do know that Honi keeps in touch with Bo and Jil, if not daily then at least once a week to let them know what's happening here.
Please just remember, as frustrated as you are out there we're even more frustrated because we're up close and personal with this whole thing.
Remember, this is just my personal opinion.
One thing I forgot to mention - one of our volunteers had suggested that everybody get together at her home for a meeting. Many said they could and would go but then at the last minute decided not to go for whatever reason. So, the idea has been thought of already.
Diane- that was very well put-thank you for saying what I was thinking. I agree that we shouldn't be out there trying to catch her- that's what Bo has been trying to tell the blog for months- you are right- we are here to make sure Vivi stays alive in the eyes and ears of those in the area she is in - so hopefully soon someone can call in a sighting and we can get that vixen home!
Well I don't have to go on- again thank you for writing how I also feel.
Karen
I agree with you 100%
It's a difficult time for everyone including the people who live out of state. I can see why things are going the way they are, rumors etc, but how many times do people have to be told not to chase, try to catch her and track her down?
My heart goes out to Vivi, I love the little girl dearly even though I don't know her. I only wish the best for her and chasing her is not a solution.
Being an outsider, I do THINK I see discord among the volunteers and I think a meeting would be good.
Although it's been said that clothes with Jil's scent on them have been left around, maybe it's time for a new set of clothes etc with a FRESH scent on them..this might keep Vivi coming to the same area for sure I would think.
I think of Vivi every single day like all of the people on the blog. God needs to help her find
a person she trusts so she can go home!

guys - just heard from ashley - she desperately needs help!!!! she lost her job and has only one now. her animals need supplies like bird feed, cat food, doggie food, toys, etc. she also needs monetary help if possible. she was supposed to start a new job today and got the call last night that someone else was hired. she's going to beat the pavement but needs some temperary assistance. bobbi and the strays is getting set to help her with sniffles and once that's done, debbie and i are going to round up people to go back to brooklyn with us. in the meantime, PLEASE ANYONE, if you can help her, i will provide her address:
ashley perry

brooklyn, ny 11216
we can't let her down. she is trying very hard again. she's fostering a cat who is afraid of people and a one-eyed pit bull. obviously, people are not beating her door down to adopt them but her heart is in the right place. her dog's name is coco in case anyone wants to know. she is going to school and should start grooming dogs within the next few weeks. she is headed on the right track but life has given her another mountain to climb. she is grateful for everything each of you do. she truly is appreciative of any help going her way. C'MON GIRLS - let's give her a hand, ok??????
Done Darlene-some $$ in mail for her. Thank you for letting us know. THIS we can help with and SEE results! Helping someone who helps animals- what could be better than that?
I agree with you, MaryL. I'm glad that Gail's ideas are in use. We just want Vivi to be found. I don't think a pet detective is needed. Asking advice from those who have experience with this including those who worked and are still working in the Katrina areas is good. Are any of the sighthound rescue groups helping the searchers? In the city where Westminster is held, I hope they would offer their expertise and time.
BTW all those in NY (and even those that aren't) - don't forget about the benefit that Elyse is involved with for Bobbi and the Strays/Vivi. She also has raffle tickets.
Thanks for the address Darlene - I'm sending something out to Ashley now. Also to that Maryland Humane Society. This blog can work wonders!!
The way to catch Vivi is to stop looking for her. As odd as that may sound. The intensity of the vibrations is just making everything worse. And if she is caught, taking the pressure off will bring her out in the open - one way or the other. That means no more posting, no more foot searches, nothing. Just notify vets and check the shelters , maybe run an ad. Certainly no more trackers. Just go back to your life - then she will surface. A core group of New York people should check vet offices on a regular basis and check the shelters.
(P.S. You can't keep doing more of what isn't working - hoping it will work by upping the intensity.)
Little bit on the way to Ashley. Thanks for letting us know.
Thanks for the information darlene. I hope things turn around for Ashley.
I thought Sniffles was seen in a certain area in Brooklyn??? Poor doggie, I hope he's ok.
MaryL-California
Thanks for the update on Ashley -- that poor girl!!
With regard to Vivi, I don't think anyone related to the blog has been chasing her. I don't think that's ever been the intent of anyone here. As to Cynthia's suggestion that we stop posting, etc. and she'll surface -- my concern is that when she surfaces no one will know who she is and then she will never be reunited with her owner. I heard that something like 80 percent of lost animals are not recovered -- that's a staggering statistic. Additionally, recently volunteers have been hearing from the public that they thought Vivi was caught a long time ago. Unless posting continues, whoever finds her is not likely to return her.
Vets do a good job of watching for dogs that don't belong to the owners if they are notified. I think it is important to keep all vets in the area up to date and also notices in pet stores. And someone needs to check the shelters, all of them, on a regular basis.
The first thing anyone does when they find a dog, if they are a good hearted person, is to check the lost dog ads and then they take the pet to the vet to have it scanned. I can't tell you the number of times I've done this. No one is going to drive around a city looking for a poster that gets torn down within hours of landing on a telephone pole.
If they don't have good intentions, and will keep the pretty valuable dog, then no amount of posting will help.
girls: THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF ASHLEY. i just emailed her and she said "oh my god!!!! this is way more than i could have expected!! i have to call my momma and tell her to thank jesus!!!" you guys are are so wonderful and you will certainly be blessed (you already are with huge hearts*****) ashley is very excited that we are going to try to help her by volunteering once bobbi gets her thing ready. she said she is going to send pictures of COCO (the pitbull) and QUEENIE (the cat). she said tha hopefully coco will be adopted once his stitches heal (i didn't ask and don't want to know what happened to him). she said he is sweet and beautiful and is 6 yrs. old. not far from being put down and she just couldn't. she said there will be more to follow once coco finds a new loving home. so, once again - GRRRREAT JOB, MY FRIENDS************* and i am proud to call you that!!!!! she is going to school for grooming and possibly more. she said she has found her calling in animal rescue. i envy her strength.....
mary l: sorry, dearie
sniffles was spotted in the same park where he was lost about one week ago. he's probably still around there.
Just a thought. Is any one checking the local papers for a "found" add? In my area, many people that find an animal place a add in the local paper.
Elizabeth: I think you are right on what you said. The volunteers know not to chase her, they wouldn't think of doing it.
Poster should be continued to be posted and perhaps a date put on them so people don't think they are old posters from weeks and weeks ago.
I don't think Vets are all that good about checking for losts dogs but posters at offices are good. I found a dog one time, took her to the vets and there on the bulletin board, was a poster with her picture.
MaryL-California
P.S. When I had the dog at the vets, even tho there was a picture of the dog on the bulletin board, the vet didn't realize the dog I brought in was a missing dog,nor did the people in the office..Sad but true, not all vets are on top of things..
MaryL-California
darlene, thanks for the update on where Sniffles was seen. So many blogs, I sometimes don't see everything. (0:
MaryL-California
mary l: i agree. we were just talking about that the other night. when posting, get a scripto and simply put last seen (month/year) quick and painless. some of the posters are so old that people think vivi has been found already. that's a good way to put new up and also to keep the old ones, of which some are in great condition still. as for the vets offices, shelters, etc:
WE ASKED FOR HELP LAST WEEK*****************
we are out on foot and most work full time as well. we asked that some of the background people call the local sanitation locales, vet. offices, and shelters. just in case vivi is hurt, was turned in, etc. we are expected to do that as well. we do not have time****** i am not sure how to get it done, but maybe some of you guys could give us a hand??? i try to find time during lunch, but normally have things to do that i used to have time for after work and on the weekends. if you guys could get a hold of those places in queens, you would relieve our worried minds, believe me. THANKS :)))))
OK - IT'S TIME. I HAVE WATCHED THIS PSYCHO GO ON AND ON FOR WEEKS NOW AND FINALLY I WILL ADDRESS IT. GET THE HELL OFF OF HERE. I/WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR ENDLESS BABBLE. WHERE IN THE HELL DO YOU GET THE GUTS TO COME ON HER AND SUGGEST WE STOP LOOKING FOR VIVI? ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, COMMON SENSE WOULD TELL A PERSON THAT YOUR THEORY IS FULL OF CRAP AND YOUR OPINION IS WORTHLESS AND BORING. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH THIS SINCE THE NIGHT SHE WENT MISSING, YES - THE VERY NIGHT AT 5:00 P.M. I TAKE IT AS A PERSONAL INSULT TO ME AND MY GROUP OF LOVELY FRIENDS WHEN YOU SUGGEST WE DO SOMETHING SO ASS BACKWARD. THAT'S ALL THE TIME I WILL GIVE THIS NONSENSE. I AM GETTING BORED WITH YOU USELESS RHETORIC (THAT MEANS TALK...). ENOUGH - WE ALL MEAN IT - ENOUGH. IF YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO SIT HERE AND THINK UP THIS B.S., LET ME KNOW ANDI WILL FIND SOMETHING FOR YOU TO DO. I HAVE A LIST A MILE LONG AS I AM OUT THERE BUSTING MY ASS LOOKING FOR VIVI WITH WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND NOT GETTING ANYTHING ELSE DONE. I'M SURE MY FRIENDS CAN ALSO FIND YOU SOMETHING TO KEEP YOU BUSY. NOW, GET OFF OF HERE AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO THAT WILL AMUSE YOUR TWISTED MIND.

Once again how I wish I lived there so I could help!
It's so hard to see what you guys are doing and not to be able to put my tennis shoes on and help.)o:
The only help I've been, for what its worth, is my total support of the VOLUNTEERS and money, which I hope will be used to help Vivi get home or found!
I can only guess how much harder it is on you guys and I admire all of you that are working so hard to find Vivi so she can go home..California misses her a lot! )o:

Darlene, Bravo. I didn't want to post exactly what you've just done. Way to go my friend.
darlene! You said exactly what I've not said for days and days..CW should take a hike, do her thing for the Sacramento SPCA and leave her thoughts about Vivi unsaid!
Expect to get yelled at by the FEW who are believers in that womans 3rd eye...Myself, I think its a wart, not an eye..heh

Darlene, Yes I am
MARY L: YEAH!!!! THANK YOU DEARIE :)
MERI-LOU: I AM EMAILING YOU SOMETHING. NEED A PERSONAL FAVOR :)
Let's try and help Ashley, to the extent we can. Every little bit will help her take care of these animals. It's something we can do today that will make a HUGE difference. Just think how it will grow -- Ashley will have restored faith in people and will be in an even better position to help animals in need.
Check is in the mail to Ashley
Do they have Petco in New York
I don't know. They didn't have Petco when I lived there, but that was 20 years ago! NYC only just got a Trader Joes.
yeah, marty!!!!!! thank you :)
petco is about 8 miles from her house. not sure where she normally goes for supplies. possibly somewhere local.
Darlene, I replied
Remember -- many New Yorkers do not have cars. I never had one when I lived there.
Marty, if Petco isn't close to Ashley, maybe Petsmart is. From Google, there appears to be a number of Petsmarts in New York. I just don't know the geography.
NEW YORK HAS A TRADER JOES?????????? When I lived in Calif. that was my favorite of all stores to shop in. You would think as large as TX is, there would be a least one but, NO! It took me two years to even begin to get over it.
Trader Joes is AWESOME! We didn't have it in Hawaii, but I soon discovered it upon moving to Seattle! All you New Yorkers -- check it out!
meri-lou: petsmart is too far away. petco is on utica ave in brooklyn. and yes, there's a trader joe's right by my house. HEE........
Here's the Trader Joe's in Manhattan:
142 East 14th Street
New York, NY 10003

Darlene, Will send the shelters another update during the day tomorrow. Will send some cash to Ashley, also. Wow, Sniffles is being stubborn, too?
Thanks for your hard work!
(Sorry I've been posting so late at night folks- with the prayer, etc. It's end of the school year, and I've been trying to get everything ready for Seniors---grades,exams,fines, etc. are all due in the next 5 days. Of course, almost every evening is full of assemblies and meetings. Our budget in Michigan is being slashed again, and next school year looks even tighter than this year.Only 3 more weeks... I sure would like to join you for a couple days once school is over. We'll see.)
Trader Joe's has thnkfully been in Long Island for years. About time NYC was behind us!
Darlene, if I send you my shopping list for next week, will you pick up a few items (50 or 60) for me. I won't even bother you for any liquor, even though I live in a dry county and have to go out of my way to buy it.
Yes I love Trader Joe's. Go there all the time.
meri-lou: anything for you, my pet :) bring it on. 50-60 items?? that's child's play!!! tee, hee.....
sharon: would love to have you but hopefully by then you will not be needed. keep up those beautiful words of wisdom.
Lydia: what about A&S pork store: super yum!!! soppressada and the fresh mozz???? holy crap!!!!!!
PURE ECSTACY*********
Hey Guys: Just a real quick infomercial:
While I was out doing errands today, I stopped by my vet's office and could you believe they did not have a poster of Vive up? How dare they!!
Anyway I gave them one which they promptly taped to the counter where people pay their bill, I also left some cards on the desk for carry aways.
I also stopped at a nearby groomer and they promised to tape a poster on their window. I will check later in the week if they actually did it and will give them hell if they didn't!
YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE VIVI TEAM!!!!!
Hye Marty- here is a store a few blocks from Ashley's house. If you want to order stuff from there for her I bet they'd deliver:

A & S pork store? Wow Darlene- just did search and there is one in next town from me. From your post I guess I'd best get over there!
LYDIA - RUN LIKE THE WIND!!!!!!! GET THE SWEET SOPP. - DELISH!!!!! WELL, I AM OUT OF HERE. SEE YA TOMORROW :)
Thank you Lydia
No prob Marty. And Darlene- I know where I'm going when I get off the train tonight!
First it's chocolate and liverwurst - now Trader Joe's and A&S Pork Store? How's a girl supposed to diet around here?
Those pretzels are great!! I also love the low fat cat shaped cookies, and the mini chocolate chip cookies, and, and, and......
A&S Pork store is sinful!!! I get all my stuff from there for the holidays except the line is always sooooooo long! Worth it though.
Marty,
Great idea setting up a funded account at the pet store! (I believe that was right in line with an e-mail you sent me about a week ago ;).)
Darlene,
In line with my prayer yesterday--I am SURE, I won't be need in three weeks! I may just come anyway. Even though I'm spoken for, the auction might be fun. Who knows?
The other post was also a way of letting people know the earliest I'll probably get home tonight is 10:00, and although I've finished most of my work for tomorrow-- my fur babies will want some attention, too.
Is NYC scheduled for Thunderstorms, too? The sky over Lake Huron is looking pretty ominous for us.
AOL weather says::::NYC rain Wed,Thunderstorms Thurs, rain Sat and Sunday...Get your water wings out Volunteers...65 to 73 degrees so it will be fairly warm.(o:
MaryL-California
Sharon- same forecast we've had for 2 weeks- chance of showers ;-) looks ok now though.
Re A&S Pork store- as good or better than Pastosa's?
Vivi, Sniffles and Biggie- while we're all chatting you'd best be out and about and befriending people that will get you to your rightful homes!
Lydia -
Very similar, but I think, a little better.
I'm off to Petco to get Ashley a gift card to get what she needs. Like Darlene said every little bit counts and it appears Ashley needs our help. Will check back later
As far as any independent plans to catch Vivi Bo mentioned ... Vivi always seems to have a sense when there is a plan to "track" her down and seems like she leaves an area that she was starting to feel comfortable in.
I always pray she will feel comfortable enough to stay in one area for a longer time and start to feel calm enough to show her self more and more... and I always worry she'll be spooked away from a place she has learned to find food and survive in.
The foot soldiers in NY are my heroes! All these months of frustrations and emotions and hard work... yet you still survive, like Vivi, and keep fighting for her. Thank you all!
Not only do we survive, but we GET STRONGER!!
My check to Ashley will be in the mail in the morning. Bless her heart. I'm so glad you mentioned it on the blog so we could all help.
Thanks Darlene for telling us about Ashley's situation. I pray for her every night. I'll get a check in the mail tomorrow. God bless her.
Dogs know when the "heat" is on to find them - they just do and they hide. The more attention you create the worse it is going to be for Vivi. If she were a different type of dog, then it might make sense to keep posting and searching. But she isn't. If she is captured by now, the way to get her back is through the vets and ads. If she is still free roaming, then taking the pressure off just may relax her enough so she calms down and accepts people more readily.
The best approach is to keep notifying vets and run ads and check shelters and also dog rescue groups.
Getting mad at me because you don't agree with my perspective doesn't matter much either way. And putting your comments in caps doesn't matter either. The entire feeding stations and tracking footprints is my idea and done off the blog. It is the "intense" energy fields surrounding this search and effort is back firing. Like your anger at my ideas. How do you think dogs pick up on vibrations - its because you don't believe the approach has any validity - that is why you discount the energy fields that surrounds the search and rescue effort.
I do believe she went with the little boy and out of sight (remember no news is no news) when Jill's boyfriend was in New York because she knew by the intense energy and she wanted to be safe. The boy brought her safety.
So you don't believe. What power do I have over you and your search? Why get angry at me? Calm down and breath slowly - it is better for Vivi - it really is. And the intense negative energy on "Vivi watch blog" really doesn't help little Vivi much even though it might make you feel better by telling me off.
I meant to say I'll send a check in the mail tomorrow for Ashley.
Maybe it's not the people who are casuelly looking for Vivi, or food stations that is scaring her away, but maybe she feels the need to get up and move every once in a while, because she is trying to find her way home or something familure to make her move.. That could be a possibility, everyone is always blaming the searchers, WHO KNOW BY NOW "HOW TO GET VIVI BACK" Procedures! Just a thought!
I think the searchers are the most knowledgeable people to be out looking for her... they know all the right ways to behave if get lucky enough to see her... the searchers are not scaring her off in any way at all... or should they stop posting or looking for her. I think the feeding stations are good, even though it may take some time before they start working.
I was only referring to Bo's post that there might be some "independent" plans to bring in pet detectives and tracking dogs... those are the things I worry that will spook her or cause her to leave. Everyone cares so much and is doing the best they can out there.
Hello Everyone~
Cynthia your not worth the few seconds but just so you know it was not "your" idea to do the feeding stations , you may have suggested it but it's just common sense !!!
I will Also send Ashley a check . I can't even imagine how stressed she must be. From the way it sounds sniffles is holding his own too . I hope you get sniffles soon Ashley. I'm praying for all these lost pups to find their way to a good soul who will guide them home... my prayers are with all of you !!!
My daughter is here and her plan for finding Vivi is: "Use a P.A. system or speaker with her owners voice calling her name..Maybe have it in a stationary area with items with familiar smells on them and then just have someone there when she shows up..Of course this would have to almost be a rotating campsite..
People talk to their dogs as I'm sure Jil and Rick did, she might recognize their voices, not like when Jil or Rick called her when they were in NY.. (this is on speakers) Strange voices might frighten her."
MaryL's Daughter - california
The feeding stations and tents are Gails idea as far as I could tell... part of that plan is having someone who can sit and watch and monitor the site for many hours during the prime times she might visit. Unfortunately Gail's on vacation right now.
