Flier Blitz tomorrow

Honi Reisman, search coordinator, offers this information about tomorrow's "flier blitz":

<<I am planning a "Handout Blitz" tomorrow. Our objective will be to have volunteers go to heavily traffic areas ie; supermarkets, post offices, car washes, dry cleaners, banks, parks, etc. to hand out Vivi flyers and talk to as many people as possible. I will be at our regular spot, Utopia Parkway and Peck Avenue from 7 a.m. till 12 p.m.

<<I need two volunteers who know the surrounding areas, Flushing, Whitestone, College Point, etc. well. I need you to assist in getting the volunteers headed into an area and finding a good location to set up their post. [If you can help in this regard, email Honi at roxiethedoxie@aol.com.] I want to record where the volunteers will be and their phone numbers.

I am also requesting that the volunteers report back to the Home Base if they get any information that could help us locate Vivi. This is not going to be a stakeout -- this is a "word-out."

Please let me know if you can work with me or if you will be a post volunteer.

We have been receiving a lot of mixed reports about where Vivi has been seen.  We need everyone to note as much information as possible so we can put this puzzle together and get her home safe and sound.

Volunteers will also be provided with a "What to do if" flyer. We have a new toll-free number for our efforts, 1-877-JFKVIVI.  We are in the process of adding this to any new fliers or posters being made.  All fliers/posters will still have the numbers that have been posted. This new toll-free number links to those and will be easier for people to remember.

On behalf of Jil, Bo and Paul, thank you for all you are doing.....you are the greatest!>>

Come on, let go people. It will be a beautiful day for a walk. I'll be there, will I see you there?

Diane, you don't know how much I wish I could be there.
Barbara V from TX

Should start having block parties (BBQs?) with these weekend outings, to attract others and get information out.

Beth, I think the block parties would be a great ideal.

Remember, everyone -- new posters will be needed next week. So take a little time this weekend and put some together -- ideally, on neon colored paper so they really stand out.

Let's get them to Darlene:

RADIANCE ELECTRONICS
250 FULTON AVE #608
HEMPSTEAD, NY 11550

As soon as we get the go ahead on 1 877 JFK VIVI I'll print. See I remembered it. I don't remember Tina/Rosa's number.

I am an artist and have some design background- I think I have a pretty good poster after 45 revisons. I'll send it to anyone if the bosses say it's OK.

Oh and here's something funny. I almost made my dog Grace E a margarita. I was filling her water cooler with ice for her agility trial tomorrow. (I am afraid dogs are my life, I am a different kind of psycho) and I filled my glass with ice, then her thing. Then I put lemon juoce in mine and lime juice in hers. Oops.

Karen, can you email me your poster. How big should it be - 8 1/2 by 11 to fit in the plastic sleeves or bigger? And do they have to be in color?

Karen: Could you please e-mail me the flyer--I'll send some this weekend. Wish I could be ther in person- You are all awesome- keep up the good work- I'm praying and lighting candles here in Michigan.

Beth, is Darlene taking over receiving the posters?

I just finished e-mailing over 40 shelters found on petfinder.com. I chose e-mail because most didn't have a listed fax# and I tried calling and had a hard time getting through. I work with our Humane Society and we don't answer phones over the weekend but we sure do e-mail. I sent a copy of a flyer approved by Diane earlier in the week. It is bilingual English/Spanish. I sent it as a word document, and rich text file in case they have a different program than I do.
In the e-mail I included a short blurb about what to do if Vivi was seen, but acknowledged that as professionals they knew all the tricks. I included the old number, and the toll-free number. I blind copied a copy of everything to Honi. Sorry, to take this upon myself, but someone came up with this idea last P.M., and I flew with it.
I will go back tomorrow and see if I missed anyone, but the addresses included, Flushing, Whitestone,
Queens,College Point, and the Greater New York area.

I included the info I had about Biggie, and told them he was last seen in Brooklyn by the BQE.
The e-mail believe it or not was short.
I tried to sift through the little faces to see if there were whippets and pugs, but frankly I could only look at those eager little faces longing for homes for just so long. I will try again tomorrow.

I will also send more posters. Is it better to send to Diane or Darlene??

Hope my efforts come to something. Even with e-mails I've worked pretty continuously since I got home from work.
Back with a night prayer later.
I will show up at 8:00 tomorrow morning for another Mass-- my pastor survived my early morning appearance last week!!
Thanks to all of you Super Positive People!!

God Bless you Sharon, and all of YOU your prayers, calls, $, laughter, tears, making posters, walking and walking and walking are so appreciated, and formost your postive thoughts and LOVE for Vivi.

Blessing to each and everyone of you.

I have the flu so this is the first time I've been on the Blog today.

Sleep Tight

I've had a very wonderful image that's haunted me all day(--and it has nothing to do with liverwurst footprints ladies--though that is memorable and intriguing.)A relative is doing a teaching, and some poetic work about the Good Shepherd, and she wanted me to check out some historic details about shepherds of the time. (Do you know that they carried a sling with pebbles, and knew which pebble went with which sheep when they counted them at night?) The Good Shepherd of course abandons the ninety-nine to go in search of the missing sheep-showing that each sheep is so very precious that one lost is too much to bear. All I could picture is all of you foot soldiers abandoning home, family, other animals, to go search for this little dog (and Biggie, and Sniffles.)How can we not believe that our prayers to a Creator who cares so much for us would go unanswered. This Shepherd delivers the goods(in His own way and time). But here is the best part-- when the "sheep" is found he carries it through the town rejoicing because what was lost is found. Can't you just picture Vivi in the arms of Teresa, or Rosa, or Irene, or Darlene,or Renee, and finally Jil's arms. It's going to be a party! I will accept whatever God's will is in this--He knows best, but I refuse to be less than positive/confident until the last pebble is counted!!!

Creator/Shepherd, Your love for the world You have created is reckless and abundant. Keep the lost ones (people and animals) under your watchful care. Let all of us sleep safely knowing You never sleep. Gather Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles in your arms and put their little feet on the path that leads to their "parents". Put all of us on the path that leads to Home. May their recovery deepen our faith in You, no matter what our faith tradition. As for me, I can't begin to tell you how grateful I would be, if You thought tomorrow was a good day for their recovery.(Just wanted You to know it was still me.)Amen.
'Night everyone, I'll try to get to that 8:00 Mass so I'm praying while your working.

Still holding the space---getting emails from some on the blog that want to assist and learn how to help in the visualization smore (that's great)---good collective group forming. So now we are heading into a very good space for the next few days. I have sensed all week that Vivi has been sighted but no one called it in---and that showed up (according to an email I received), so that is a nice confirmation that we have psychic connection going well. Thanks for all the help to hold that space. And I am holding everyone helping out in the healing light to so when you retire at night just open to the light that is replenisheing effort energy and have a good night's sleep. Here's to the magic moment of divine intervention happening soon!

If I wasn't working ALL WEEKEND, again...I'd be there with all of you...would set up a card table in front of a PET STORE (empathetic dog lovers) with all VIVI info...

Getting a clear vision that her safe rescue is at hand...RED PICNIC BLANKET, A SMALL HABATCHI WITH SOME STEAK...might peak her interest.

I'm getting more fliers out, thanks to the donation of my local print company...SURROUND YOURSELF IN A CACOON OF PURE LIGHT...ask for assistance seen and unseen from all levels, as you seek and pursue Vivi's rescue ALL FOR THE HIGHEST GOOD FOR ALL CONCERNED.

God bless all of you...your loving and caring has lifted many people and animals too.

BLESSINGS ABOUND, warm weekend, singing birds, flowers blooming - Vivi wants to go home.

THE ENERGY IS SHIFTING, as I read this blog...the light, love and service brings tears of graditude forward for me.
FABULOUS, to turn ALL THE FOCUS to retrieving VIVI, and Biggie, and Sniffles and any other lost doggies looking for a safe way back home.
I AM SO BLESSED TO BE CONNECTED TO ALL OF YOU CARING LOVING PEOPLE THROUGH VIVI and this effort to get her back to Jil.
THANK ALL OF YOU FOR PUTTING YOUR EGO'S at bay, shutting down your judgements, and other human issues, to STREAM LINE your mental, emotional and spiritual efforts ON VIVI THIS WEEKEND.

REMEMBER...TURN YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD TONIGHT...we'll have an extra hour of daylight tomorrow, Sunday!

I hope there are plans to post at Crocheron Park/John Golden, Alley and Clearview Parks east of the last sighting in case she has headed east and we want to keep one step ahead of her.

I sent How to Bring Vivi Back to the same shelters I e-mailed yesterday.
Feel Better Siri!

Prayer for All Fools (Day)

Give me a sense of humor,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some pleasure out of life
And pass it on to other folk.

Said prayers this morning for Vivi's safe return. The weather is cooperating. Should Bo's note be sent to schools, vet offices etc.? Wishing all the searchers and posters the best. I think Vivi is within our reach. May the right place at the right time be very soon for the 3 pups.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you posting and handing out flyers today. Every flyer and conversation has the potential to be "the one" that is key to reuniting Vivi with her family! Thank you for all of your hard work.

It is terrible waiting in Memphis, TN, and not knowing what is going on. Has ANYONE heard of any sightings or people that were encountered today that thought they had seen Vivi, Biggie or Sniffles?

I am waiting in HIGH HOPES. Here is hoping for a happy ending to at least one of these stories today.

God, Creator of us all, watch over Vivi, Sniffles and Biggie. Keep them safe, healthy, and in Your will. Let them rest in a warm, secure, place. Light to a Dark World, show them how to reach the people who will take them to their "parents". Send special blessings to a group of wonderful New York workers, who have become Your compassionate helpers in this difficult search. Help them sense Your presense in their efforts, and let it strengthen them. Author of the Universe, bring this story to its happy ending.Amen.
There is a candle burning in my Parish church for the little trio. The names of Vivi, Sniffles, Biggie,Dante, and Murphy, along with the intention of all lost and ailing animals, have been entered into the parish Book of Life. (The intentions aren't read aloud, but the Book is lifted up during the prayers of the faithful, so in essence, these guys will be remembered at three Masses tomorrow, and all the weekday Masses this week!) You never know what might happen when you get up early of Saturday mornings.
I'm preparing a cut and paste list of Vet Clinics in the Flushing Area, and hope to make that available to you tomorrow. I will also have instructions for how to get a list of the Rescue Groups I contacted yesterday. I will send more flyers when we know the 877# works.
'Night Everyone! Sending gratitude to all of you who hit the pavement today. Better get to bed, 7:00 is an hour earlier tomorrow (Blech!)

Hey guys! Can we all move up to the first posting. It's getting a little confusing jumping from posting to posting reading the lastest.

http://www.forgotten-ny.com/STREET%20SCENES/newflushingairport/yonder2.html

On my map, I do not see Flushing Airport but on Google Earth, I do. I checked google and found this link. If this area is still undeveloped and the site of the old Flushing Airport, there seems to be hundreds of spots for Vivi to hide. My map shows a large white void between the US Postal Service Processing Ctr and 13th Avenue off of Ulmer Street. Does anyone out there know?

Just today, the Juniper Park Civic Assoc. added over 3,000 signatures to their 2,200 they already had on their on-line petition. Whether these are legitimate signatories or not will never been known. Most likely the JPCA is typing in the signatures themselves given that the new signatures appeared in 3-5 second intervals throughout the day today.

Regardless, we have less than 3,000 signatures on our petition. This is an embarrassment. We have three days to get our signatures up. People need not write comments.. just sign our petition at: http://petitionspot.com/petitions/amendparksregs

Get everyone in your group to sign our petition.

WE NEED PEOPLE TO SHOW-UP AT THE PARKS MEETING ON THURSDAY, FEB 22 at 1 PM at the

Chelsea Recreation Center located at 430 West 25th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues, Manhattan

PRESS CONFERENCE (INSIDE) AT NOON so we can gather our forces and get our names on the speaker sign-up list (it is first come first serve).

WE NEED LETTERS OF SUPPORT FROM EACH OF OUR MEMBER GROUPS..AND YOUR INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS. FOLKS, WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOUR LETTERS?

It is now or never... is NYCdog going to be the voice for dog owners or not?
