<<UPDATE AS OF THURSDAY NIGHT, MARCH 30, 2006
Another unconfirmed sighting in the same location as Monday night’s, but this one was supposedly at least a couple of days earlier. A man out walking his dog saw a “skinny” dog which ran away when he went up to it. That area had not been posted with flyers yet so he didn’t know anything about Vivi and didn’t call anyone until today.
Denise Flaim has kindly posted flyers which can be printed out in four languages – English, Spanish, Chinese and Korean – at http://newsday.typepad.com/news_local_flaim/
A new 1-800 telephone number is being set up to make it easier to call in Vivi sightings. It’s ready to go, but we want to make sure the number works before posting it, which will take place tomorrow. At the same time guidelines for what to do if anyone should encounter Vivi will be circulated to as many people as possible in the area. The sightings aren’t going to get Vivi back unless whoever meets her manages to win her confidence. No chasing, no shouting, no walking towards her - just quiet, casual friendliness, food and non-threatening behavior: sit on the ground, lie down, walk away!
It’s difficult to focus any attention on the airline right now, but a couple of things need to be mentioned. According to unconfirmed sources a Delta employee who works as a cargo loader went to give Vivi a drink of water and that’s when she bolted. I personally don’t believe this story: Vivi liked her crate and wouldn’t get out just because someone put in a bowl of water. It also does not explain why the door latch was broken. (A bigger mystery is that the Skychef employee who saw Vivi 12 hours after she was lost is certain that she was then NOT wearing her broad leather collar, which she had when she was loaded. How could she possibly have lost that so quickly?)
Jil’s lawyer has given Delta five days to respond to a final request for the response to our questions which was promised earlier, and payment at least of the intitial expenses in the search which was also promised earlier. If Delta does not respond we will obviously have to change our tactics. We have been very careful at every turn to not blame Delta for what happened, since nobody knows for sure exactly how Vivi got out of her crate. The fact, however, is that she was lost while in their care, and that Delta has done very little to help us get her back.

UGH! That stinks that she might have been seen and not reported until now. how frustrating! Vivi don't move!!! Just stay there and someone will come get you!!!
WHAT AREA was the "unconfirmed sighting" in? I have a "DOG LOVING" Printer who is donating flyers...please email me any updates in LOCATION, PHONE NUMBERS...and I'll add "small dog of 25 pounds" to help people know how small Vivi is.
I've posted flyers at groomers, pet supply stores and other business locations throughout Morris, Sussex, Essex and Bergan counties in New Jersey...many people work in NY and/or know of someone there...just trying to GET THE VIVI WORD OUT.
I pray she is RESCUED, and RETURNED Tomorrow...fitting that it's "April Fools Day" we all need a sigh of relief and a chuckle only when Vivi is back in Jil's arms, happy and healthy!
Hey everyone - I came across this Margaret Mead quote today and after reading it I thought how aptly it applies to this small group of thoughtful, committed Vivi searchers (you guys!):
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead
Being that I am unfamiliar with the area (but I do have a map!) can anyone tell me if there is a MARINA in this area? If there is searchers should give flyers to the people who may live there? Just thinking of places should would have a consistent food source. Also, Garbage pick up day is key because the night before is would be like a buffet for her...keep thinking...keep thinking...keep thinking!
ADDITIONAL AREAS FOR CONSIDERATION BBQ & POSTING: area south of the World's Fair...where the boathouse is located. Large park area both sides of lake; ducks, birds, some forestation & family picnic area. Good place to pass out flyers to picnickers, joggers, dog walkers, families, etc. Cars park on perimeter so they too could be posted. Viv got from JFK, she could just as well navigate there from College Point too. Thank you.
We need to move to this thread there are so many messages on the other even my T1 line is getting to the bottom slowly.

Does anybody out there (and the area doesn't much matter) have a Dad or Granddad who is a HAM radio operator?? I was just discussing this with my neighbor and he said HAM operators are very service oriented people. He said not only would they broadcast Vivi's situation, to have more people know about it, some of them might even help with putting up posters!! So, if anyone thinks this is a worthwhile idea, can we get in touch with a HAM radio operator who can get the word to Flushing/Corona Park/College Point area? Unfortunately, the neighbor sold his radio and went to computer, but he said there are still plenty out there.
Does this sound like a possibility?
I find it questionable that she "bolted" as well. I have a whippet and she Loves her crate as well. Perhaps Vivi is a bit more on the social side of the whippet scale but my little one, when in doubt, heads for her home, that being her crate. Best from the west coast to all the amazing folks involved in this.
Anything concerning College Point posting and searching - please put that on the College Point blog. Having to bounce around for CP information is counter-productive. Use the other blogs for conversation, etc.
Appreciate your cooperation.
The flyers that were posted by Denise do not have the correct telephone numbers on them. I've e-mailed her to see if she can correct them, or, in the alternative, post new flyers when the JFK-VIVI number is up and running.
I've wondered from the start if someone had other intentions for Vivi. If so, at least she got away. I will continue to hope and pray for Vivi's safe return to her owners and all those who care about her.
I think the HAM operator idea is a great one, if we only knew someone involved with this.
If anyone is going to see Darlene tonight or tomorrow, I believe I read that her husband is a fireman - Firemen and policemen usually know if there is a HAM operator club in the area. Hope that helps - could not find anything on net.
here is a ham transmitter site in Flushing http://www.wb2hww.com/
Perhaps the listed Trustee can help
and another resource... http://www.qsl.net/w2va/nlifield.htm
I agree - great idea. AARL - The National Association for Amateur Radio is located in Newington, CT., www.arrl.org, (860) 594-0200, e-mail = hg@arrl.org. Maybe someone doing PR can contact them.
Here is a website that maybe able to offer some assistance to find Ham operators/Shortwave/Amateur radio people or at least point us in the right direction http://www.hosarc.org/about.html. They are located in Flushing Meadow, Corona Park, in the boro of Queens, New York City. I am not able to call at this time so, if someone could contact them to see what they maybe can do for us.
I don't know how to make this a hyperlink but if you type in the following, you can read about the coyote caught in Center Park. It died while they were trying to tag it.

New post from Denise:
Honi Reisman, search coordinator, offers this information about tomorrow's "flier blitz":
>
Okay, Hal the coyote dying is not a good omen, in my opinion. Poor baby.
Remember all the posts about dart gunning. Perhaps that's the real message.
It's not an bad omen. Hal is Hal and Vive is Vive..
I'm lighting a little candle for Hal tonight. And, of course, one for Vivi. And Sniffles. And Biggie. Hope my house doesn't catch on fire!
Ham Operator - I just talked to 718-898-5599 - which was a listed HAM operator - I talked to the guys mother - she knew about VIVI and said Stephen would be home about 7:00 tonight - and to call him back then because he might be able to help she said he works with the Science Hall that is over by Flushing Meadows. Can someone call him tonight, I will be out until about 9:00 CST. THANKS
I just received another e-mail from Delta that they are doing everything they can to locate Vivi. This has been my 3rd message from then in 6 weeks. Could be they know the public is not thrilled with their conduct. I am waiting for heads to roll. Did someone call the ham operator yet?
I meant is someone local calling him at 7pm or is an out-of -stater calling him. He would need to know the locations of sightings and where postings are needed
Kathleen:
I'm reading for news of Vivi but Not posting.I did want you to know that I clicked on the link and got the article. you must be doing something right. Poor Hal, the stress mmust have been too much. Will light a candle for him so he can cross over peacefully to the RAINBOW BRIDGE.
Beth, Pieper, Iva and Meri-Lou, thank you all for the info regarding HAM operators! You are all the BEST!! I spoke with a terrific gentleman who has the Flushing website Pieper sent, Howard Levine. He is going to make sure word stays out and is also going to have his webmaster add Vivi's information to his website within the next few days. (But she'll be home by then, right?) Also, while speaking with him he turned the call into a 3 way call and got his friend on the line, who is very active in the Red Cross in the area. Officially, they can't help, but this fabulous man is going to be sure all of his members are informed to keep their eyes out for Vivi and call if anyone spots her. He said a lot of members are dog lovers. They do know not to chase her, etc.
He also suggested contacting the American Radio Relay League, which one of you suggested, and I will do that in just a minute here.
Thanks to all!!
Just checking in and thrilled with the suggestion of HAM operators being involved. I want to slap myself silly for not thinking of it myself a long time ago. Thankfully, others are on their toes.
HAM operators are wonderful people, and I'm so excited to know they'll be involved in assisting.
I cried when I read the story about Hal; poor baby, and after all he went through. :(
You're all such wonderful, dedicated people ... I'm proud to know you all (though sorry we've had to come together under such circumstances).
I hope we can eventually get a "Vivi's Law" into effect that provides for proper pet care while under airline transport. It's a bigger issue than just Delta (although they are certainly one of the worst). Anyone see this?
http://www.msu.edu/~silvar/airplane.htm
I have to leave and won't have access to e-mail - will someone please call the ham operator Stephen that I talked to his Mother this PM - she seemed to think he might help too - 718-898-5599 - She was very friendly. Thanks bunches - and yes I am an out of stater but I have all the fliers and informaton of last sighting from the post.
Keeping the faith for VIVI
Pamela:
There already is such a law on the books, the result of a long struggle by the owner of Boris, a dog lost by DELTA at NYC's LaGuardia Airport ten years ago. Denise Flaim had the whole story on this blog several weeks ago. He was found 8 weeks later in a garage in Corona..alive, but sick. He died couple of months ago at age of 15.
Problem is laws are broken and not adhered to.
No, Delta is not the only problem airline, but it is my far the very worst.
They are due to start employee layoffs next week, so you can be very sure their service will not be improving any time soon. Their employees are absolutely furious and have been for more than a year. Their pilots were picketing while we were looking for Vivi at JFK...
I have also gotten letters from Grinstein's office with the same BS that they are doing all they can, blah, blah, blah!
Time to attack Delta, BIG TIME, was the day Vivi was lost..
Irene Wilson
What a great idea- HAM ooperators. good work.
Irene
I agree with you!! You tell them!!
Irene, I read this article carefully to see if it mentioned anything about house painters in Queens.
Off topic. Sorry.
"Clooney Takes Aim at 'Gawker Stalker' Site"
And PS regarding Delta, at the very least everyone on earth will be reminded of the law they never knew existed. How change happens.
Cherita, Done! I just spoke to Stephen the HAM radio operator, ARRL member, you asked someone to call. He was just AWESOME and is going to be broadcasting the information, also!! What a nice and caring gentleman he is!
While at the Humane Society yesterday, I spotted a sign that read, "Be the change you want to see in the world," quoted from Mahatma Gandhi. Every time I log onto the blog to get updates on Vivi, I am reminded that you guys embody the saying on that little sign every moment that you devote to bringing Vivi back home. Here's to all of you!!
Jackie, Thank you! Terrie
Thank you Jackie - just got home and checked in. Glad he was Awesome, his mom seemed concerned. Thanks much.
I just finished e-mailing over 40 shelters found on petfinder.com. I chose e-mail because most didn't have a listed fax# and I tried calling and had a hard time getting through. I work with our Humane Society and we don't answer phones over the weekend but we sure do e-mail. I sent a copy of a flyer approved by Diane earlier in the week. It is bilingual English/Spanish. I sent it as a word document, and rich text file in case they have a different program than I do.
In the e-mail I included a short blurb about what to do if Vivi was seen, but acknowledged that as professionals they knew all the tricks. I included the old number, and the toll-free number. I blind copied a copy of everything to Honi. Sorry, to take this upon myself, but someone came up with this idea last P.M., and I flew with it.
I will go back tomorrow and see if I missed anyone, but the addresses included, Flushing, Whitestone,
Queens,College Point, and the Greater New York area.
I included the info I had about Biggie, and told them he was last seen in Brooklyn by the BQE.
The e-mail believe it or not was short.
I tried to sift through the little faces to see if there were whippets and pugs, but frankly I could only look at those eager little faces longing for homes for just so long. I will try again tomorrow.
I will also send more posters. Is it better to send to Diane or Darlene??
Hope my efforts come to something. Even with e-mails I've worked pretty continuously since I got home from work.
Back with a night prayer later.
I will show up at 8:00 tomorrow morning for another Mass-- my pastor survived my early morning appearance last week!!
Thanks to all of you Super Positive People!!
Sharon - I believe you may have done one of the most useful and sensitive things to help the search. Thanks for the hard work. I know this took you so time, but I think that it might be very fruitful.
Sharon (MI)
All your efforts are so much appreciated...we get so wrapped up in this ongoing search that maybe we don't express appreciation often enough to everyone all over this wonderful country who are doing wonderful things!
All of the foot searchers here in NYC thank you because without your help and support, this awesome effort wouldn't have happened...it's really become a nationwide effort of compassionate people to help and save one little dog (actually 3 little dogs, we still have Sniffles and Biggie out there and we have not forgotten!
Let's not forget a very important part of trying to help Vivi...say a prayer, people!
Irene Wilson
Sharon, YOU ROCK! Thank you for stepping up to the plate. It's awesome what people are doing for Vivi the "blog dog".
I bought 100 neon poster boards, I'm waiting for a "new" flyer to be emailed to me and I'm going to make posters until my fingers are glued together. I keep switching between laminating them (that's kind of spendy), using spray glue (extremely messy), glue sticks (don't seem to adhere well) and packing tape (not very pretty). Has anyone got a good way to get those flyers onto the posterboard?
Lois, I'm afraid making posters is over my head, DUH. Actually, I was wondering how you'll mail them.
I just want to let you know that I mailed a $3,000 check to Bobbi and the Strays (for the Vivi fund). I explained to Bobbi that we wanted the funds to be distributed as we had previously discussed (although with a higher amount for Tina/Rosa due to several emails I received regarding their constant contribution).
Tina and Rosa - $1,500
Bonnie - $500
Honi - $500
Darlene - $500
I can't remember Darlene if you wanted me to send money for you or not (so I wanted to be safe and sent it anyway, please forgive me if I erred). If any of the people listed didn't want to receive money, they are more than welcome to donate it to Bobbi and the Strays or keep the money in the fund for future expenses for the Vivi search.
I also mailed a check to Diane today in the amount of $200 to help defray costs for printing.
I've set aside ~ $300 for purchasing a live dog trap (or supplies if the dog trap doesn't work out) for Bobbi and the Strays. I also have set aside another $200 dollars for banners that Beth is working on (2 large ones). I also set aside approximately $400 for the JFKVIVI phone number. So, our grand total after all of these upcoming expenses is: ~$600.00.
Don't panic! There are still funds that Bobbi & The Strays has available for Vivi search expenses. I'm not so sure how people can access it; however, I'm sure the "locals" have an idea.
I think that we have done a fantastic job "getting it together", "keeping it together" and "planning to keep it together for the future". THANKS TO EVERYONE ON THE BLOG FOR CONTRIBUTING IN WHATEVER WAY YOU CAN.
I've got my 6 year old nephew here and it is bedtime. I'll say my prayers for a safe return for all of our "lost puppies". Keep the faith (whatever yours may be :) !
Gail, I usually pick up an oversized "express mail" envelope. I can fit about 40 in them and it costs about $7.20(?) and is supposed to arrive in approximately two days. I was overnighting them but that was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE ($40/package)!
Good night all! Sleep tight and don't let the bed-dogs bite!
I believe the USDA has something to do with the "laws" about animal transport. The same outfit that handles the so-called Animal Welfare Act, which "governs" the treatment of animals used in research. Next to worthless, they don't even enforce most of these things becasue they have so few inspectors ...Rodents, birds and farm animals are all exempt from ANY protections
I've had a very wonderful image that's haunted me all day(--and it has nothing to do with liverwurst footprints ladies--though that is memorable and intriguing.)A relative is doing a teaching, and some poetic work about the Good Shepherd, and she wanted me to check out some historic details about shepherds of the time. (Do you know that they carried a sling with pebbles, and knew which pebble went with which sheep when they counted them at night?) The Good Shepherd of course abandons the ninety-nine to go in search of the missing sheep-showing that each sheep is so very precious that one lost is too much to bear. All I could picture is all of you foot soldiers abandoning home, family, other animals, to go search for this little dog (and Biggie, and Sniffles.)How can we not believe that our prayers to a Creator who cares so much for us would go unanswered. This Shepherd delivers the goods(in His own way and time). But here is the best part-- when the "sheep" is found he carries it through the town rejoicing because what was lost is found. Can't you just picture Vivi in the arms of Teresa, or Rosa, or Irene, or Darlene,or Renee, and finally Jil's arms. It's going to be a party! I will accept whatever God's will is in this--He knows best, but I refuse to be less than positive/confident until the last pebble is counted!!!
Creator/Shepherd, Your love for the world You have created is reckless and abundant. Keep the lost ones (people and animals) under your watchful care. Let all of us sleep safely knowing You never sleep. Gather Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles in your arms and put their little feet on the path that leads to their "parents". Put all of us on the path that leads to Home. May their recovery deepen our faith in You, no matter what our faith tradition. As for me, I can't begin to tell you how grateful I would be, if You thought tomorrow was a good day for their recovery.(Just wanted You to know it was still me.)Amen.
'Night everyone, I'll try to get to that 8:00 Mass so I'm praying while your working.
Allane---AMEN to the Mergeret Meade quote!!!
Also, still see Vivi doing okay. Keeping tabs energetically and psychically getting confirmation that she is on the path to being returned "IN" rather than being out. The sightings that happened and werent' called in I sensed were happening---mentioned that days ago---like most of the week now. Have received emails from several boggers that want to assit in the energy visualizations and connect up with helping more there---great to have such a well educated gorup that is willing to get involved in that different way- And with confirmation vrom Margaret----we are glowing so bright around Vivi she could light up the town!!!
We are visualizing that interference and diversions cease and desist, so that is being taken care of---the energy to ignore it and the protective field is up---so we can proceed with full engives going to holod that space for divine intervention to happen soon!!! It is Bo's with (and everyone else's too) So Be It!
OH by the by---when I forst sensed on to Vivi way back in the beginning of the whole ordeal at the airport (when the situation was first announced on the news), I "saw" arms going into the crate and Vivi very scared, and she was taken out and managed to get away. There was nothing wrong with the crate---someone went in. Male hands. worn olive skin. I also sensed on Vivi that whe was "out of body" at that moment---that is when she "shifted" into survival. She was at high stress level until she got free---so she is actually out at a lower stress level (which may sound strange to some people---but---like smoking cigerettes---the chemical high actually gives the illusion of relaxation---but it really is a stimulant) so Vivi now feels a bit calmer that she did---so I have been busy "unwinding" the confusion in the thought field (it's what I do for people too and in the healing work I do), and while I an unwinding this---more information will come for the case to take hold with more truth showing itself---just call in for the truth to be known and it will come.
Well, better get back to working the energies for the night. Big pow wow was taking place on the higher levels last night---coordinating and getting ready for a big surge coming in the case. Hang in there everyone---we are getting closer every day.
Has anyone heard from Beth to let us know that 1-877-535-8484 has been tested and is working?
Here is a fine example why when trying to capture an animal you should not stress him/her out. I know this was a wild animal but I am sure an animal like Vivi who has been on her own for so long and probably chased here and there would be under tremendous stress if not captured in a calm situation.
Wily Coyote Dies Before Release
The state biologists took him about 60 miles north of Manhattan to the California Hill State Forest in Putnam County, near Kent, N.Y., Ms. DeMarco said. There, she said, Hal stopped breathing when the biologists and Cornell University graduate researchers restrained him to put an identification tag on his ear.
She said that a soft muzzle had been placed around Hal's snout, but it did not cover his nose. His legs had also been restrained, but he had not been tranquilized, she said.
She said a necropsy would be conducted to ascertain the cause of Hal's death. "For an animal to die during standard tagging procedure is rare," Ms. DeMarco said. "We're hoping the necropsy procedure will shed light on Hal's overall health and whether previous stress on the animal during his chase through the park contributed to his death."
Heading to Staples in a couple of hours..ANY WORD ON THE NUMBER?
Need someone in NY to dial the new number and see if it's up and working. I just tried it but you have to live in NY for it to work.
the 877 number does NOT seem to be working from NY
Be careful, it is April Fool's Day today. My sister already pulled a fast one on me (I told her I didn't appreciate it this early in the morning but thanks for the warning anyway.
What happens when you dial the number Pieper?
Pieper, thanks I'll hold off on the printing, and just pick up the sleeves you told me about from Staples.
I am on the phone with AT&T local business and AT&T long disitance to see what the problem is with the 877 number
Thanks, Meri-Lou
O.K. After several hours on the telephone with various departments, this is what I have found out about the 877 telephone service.
AT&Tlong distance has not received the order from AT&T local service, therefore they can not complete the order I placed on Thursday. The business office is not open today so, I will need to contact them first thing Monday AM. This is why I suggested not printing the telephone number until the order completed. Once I have eberything taken care of on Monday, I will let everyone know. Good luck this weekend with the search and hopefully Vivi will be found.
Thanks Meri-Lou -- we'll get it going. Appreciate your help with this.
I am praying and keeping the faith for Vivi. Only positive thoughts and energies. She will come home. Thank you to all of you volunteers who continue the search... I don't know how you do it, but thank you so much, and to you, Lois, thank you, and everyone on the ground working. You have nothing but my heart and positive energy. Question: any word on Sniffles? I'm there in heart and spirit, too, and am looking for word about Sniffles. Let's keep the faith and the candles lit. I'm here in CA waiting for VIVI to get home to CA... and she WILL! VIVI show your beautiful self and stop fooling around! It's getting to be springtime in CA... come home! Thank you all. Marnie in CA
Good evening everyone..
(I'm cross-posting in case some people aren't sure where the lastest posts from those of us that just returned home from posting/searching)
It's 8:15pm(EST)..just got home from 7+ hrs of a combination of searching/posting/spreading the Vivi word. I met Dina at our usual meeting place (Peck Park) where we checked in with Honi to get the latest update and an assigned area to go hand out flyers etc. We headed over to Pathmark near the Whitestone Expressway, it's right by the Flushing/Whitestone border. We spoke with quite a few people, some were very receptive, others didn't want to be bothered. One very nice woman approached us while we were posting flyers on poles in the parking lot and said she has heard about Vivi and has seen flyers around. She said how bad she felt and wished us luck etc. We put up the large neon posters all around at the major intersections and I have to say whoever made those did a GREAT job. They look wonderful and really stand out. We were admiring them after we put them up and then later on drove past them in my car, they are fabulous! We stayed at Pathmark for awhile but of course as luck would have it the sky opened up on us and it poured. Luckily the rain didn't last too long. We then headed over near the Post Office and put up more posters in various key locations, intersections. We then ventured over to 20th Avenue which is an extremely busy shopping area and put up posters where hundreds of people will see them daily. We were outside of a McDonald's when a young man/boy, not sure of his age, that worked approached us and said he had seen Vivi, two days ago (Thursday). He said he had seen her at a nearby park just running around and that she looked very thin etc. We spoke with him for awhile asking him questions and showed him her photo again to be sure it was *Vivi* he had seen and he said he was certain it was her. He seemed very sincere and we believed his sighting was credible. He gave us directions to get to the park he had seen her in and we hopped in my car and headed over there. When we got there we weren't 100% sure it was the right park so we drove back to the McDonald's and Dina asked him to show us on the map exactly where the park was. It turns out we had been in the right spot after all, so we headed back to the park and put up as many posters as we could. We spoke with a very nice woman that actually has a hot dog stand in the park, we gave her the flyer with instructions of what to do in case she sees Vivi. While I was putting a poster on a pole a young boy that had been playing basketball alone came over to me and asked if it was my dog that was lost. I said no I was a volunteer helping out. He said he had seen Vivi a couple of days ago running around the area right near the park, he pointed to a few blocks from where we were standing. He told me he didn't know it was a lost dog though, he just thought she belonged to someone that was in the park. I gave him one of the Vivi postcards and asked him to please call if he sees her again, he promised he would. It would have been Thursday which also matches up with the other sighting the boy from McDonald's told us about. Dina and I then walked all around the surrounding blocks, putting up as many posters as we could and we spoke with some local residents, some nice, some not so nice unforunately. We kept hoping that a miracle would happen and Vivi would just appear but unfortunately that didn't happen. But we did feel much better knowing there were two sightings in the park only two days ago, it definitely gave us hope. I feel more optomistic after today's efforts than last weekend. At least now I have restored hope after a very frustrating stake out last weekend. The weather is beautiful, it was in the low 70's today which made it much easier dealing with the tape and staple guns. Ok, I think that's about it that I can remember, I'm a bit tired, been another long day but it was WELL worth it, I'm so happy to have gotten to speak with two different people that saw her. I cannot say that at this point it is 100% certain it *was* Vivi but I can honestly say that my gut instincts are telling me the boys were very credible and genuinely sincere. OK, now I will attempt to try to catch up on all the posts on the blog today that I missed while I was out. *smiles*
*keeping hope and faith alive here in nyc*
We love you Vivi!

Renee -- THANK YOU so much for the update. I am so encouraged to hear about the sightings, and to hear how well you investigated those sightings. They truly sound credible! I wonder if it's time to talk to Laura about coming back and seeing if she gets a "hit" with her dogs in that area. How far is this from the Flushing cemetary, Kissena Park area? THANK YOU to everyone who continues to post posters -- this is how people will know to contact us. This is how we will get information on sightings. You are tireless -- wonderful people.
Can't tell you how happy I was to hear this. I'm sure it sparks everyones spirits. I can't help but feeling good about this. Maybe she'll visit the lady at the hot dog stand ;0)! Hope so...
Great news ... I'm so happy there's been another sighting.
Just checking in as always. I continue to believe it's just a matter of time and dedication (which we appear to have an abundance of fortunately) before she is recovered.
I'm not posting much, but I'm reading and prayering with candles lit and hope in my heart each day will be the one where I come here to find she's safe in the arms of her rescuers.
As always,
Seems I can't type straight, but I'm sure ya'll understand my message ... sorry about the typos. :(
Renee! Thanks for the update. Your input is always appreciated (and much looked forward to) on this site! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I printed up 25 neon flyers already. I'll be working on 25 more by Monday. I'll wait for the other 50 to see if that 877 number gets up and running!
Dear Renee, Thank you for everything you have done, and for taking the time to tell us about your day.. A day full of hope and optimism for little Vivi.
I'm so glad Vivi was seen just a few days ago ... seems like she's always ahead of the searchers. Does anyone know how far this is from the last sighting on monday? Thanks to all you who are searching... wish I could be there ! I am in spirit though ! Have a good night ... maybe some good news tomorrow.
Renee,
Thanks very much for the news you've shared. I'm heartened to learn that two more credible sightings appear to have occurred. I wish you and all the other foot soldiers a restful night. Our candle remains lit for Vivi, Sniffles, Biggie, and the other beloved animal friends. Looking forward to news of happy reunions.
Thank you Renee for the post. It made my day to know that there were 2 sightings and from young boys. Vivi might relate to them easier plus the smell of hot dogs could draw her to this area. Thank you to all the searchers and posters. Your compassion and determination shows the best of people. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for doing the work of 1,000's of dog lovers around the USA. Have a good night.
Renee, thank you for that wonderful update. God bless you for all your efforts. I pray for Vivi every single day. I hope she will be home soon.
God, Creator of us all, watch over Vivi, Sniffles and Biggie. Keep them safe, healthy, and in Your will. Let them rest in a warm, secure, place. Light to a Dark World, show them how to reach the people who will take them to their "parents". Send special blessings to a group of wonderful New York workers, who have become Your compassionate helpers in this difficult search. Help them sense Your presense in their efforts, and let it strengthen them. Author of the Universe, bring this story to its happy ending.Amen.
There is a candle burning in my Parish church for the little trio. The names of Vivi, Sniffles, Biggie,Dante, and Murphy, along with the intention of all lost and ailing animals, have been entered into the parish Book of Life. (The intentions aren't read aloud, but the Book is lifted up during the prayers of the faithful, so in essence, these guys will be remembered at three Masses tomorrow, and all the weekday Masses this week!) You never know what might happen when you get up early of Saturday mornings.
I'm preparing a cut and paste list of Vet Clinics in the Flushing Area, and hope to make that available to you tomorrow. I will also have instructions for how to get a list of the Rescue Groups I contacted yesterday. I will send more flyers when we know the 877# works.
'Night Everyone! Sending gratitude to all of you who hit the pavement today. Better get to bed, 7:00 is an hour earlier tomorrow (Blech!)
Renee Polgar - Be assured those sightings were of Vivi---I stated earlier in the week that Vivi was being spotted but no call ins were happening. And she was actually recouperating energy over the weekend last weekend so she was in a hide out (how whippets find a place to sleep after days of running around energetically) then they have down time (and sometimes it's for so deep or for a longer time and you begin to wonder if they are depressed or not feeling well). she is okay, and there will be better contact as the phone number confusionenergy
