OFF THE WALL WEB: Rating shows on a 1-100 scale
Today’s site:
Metacritic
Don’t take my word for it. See what other major critics have to say about a show, then get a numerical average of those opinions on a scale of 1 to 100.
Metacritic boils it all down for new network series, hot cable premieres, big TV movies, awards shows and more. For Sunday’s new Fox comedy “The Winner,” my own missive was assigned a score of 70 by Metacritic staffers. Other reviews of the show range from 100 to 0, with the overall average down around 50. CBS’ midseason sitcom “Rules of Engagement” averages a 28 (“generally negative reviews”), with Metacritic scoring my opinion a 20.
The site also gauges movies, music, books, games and DVDs (“Police Squad!” gets an 86).
