Rupert Everett Joins Blithe Spirit Cast

Rumors - maybe we should call it "wishful thinking" - suggests that Angela Lansbury might join the cast of the Broadway revival of Noel Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT. I doubt that'll happen, but we can all wish. It was announced two weeks ago that Christine Ebersole will play Elvira. And now it's official that Rupert Everett, movie actor of MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING and AN IDEAL HUSBAND, will make his Broadway debut as the play's male protagonist, whose wives seem to be rising from the dead.

Still, hope that Lansbury will be in the show isn't too far from possible. Michael Blakemore, who directed Lansbury in DEUCE, is directing BLITHE SPIRIT.
