VIDEO: Jason Castro, "Over the Rainbow" (At Nassau Coliseum)

Wow, there's a lot of anger about this whole Jason Castro "flubbing" thing. Yes, I know he's doing the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version of the song. He flubs a little at around 1:30 in this clip, something about "dreams that you dare." It wasn't a big deal to me, but it was noticeable. Nevertheless, I still thought he did a fine job with it. Can we stop the name-calling now, Jason Castro fans? We're on the same side.

Honestly, and I mean this in the most respectful way, the ire comes for the fact that Jason getting a word or two wrong seems a petty thing to mention in your review. Obviously most didn't even notice and it would have been one thing if it had been tempered by a positive.

You say Jason did a nice job of it, yet that wasn't mentioned in your article. The only thing worth mentioning is that he sang the wrong word. Michael Johns forgot a whole part of his song in Chicago I believe, but laughed it off and it was never mentioned again. People noticed, but it was a real "live" moment.

FWIW it's worth, Jason Castro fans are particularly sensitive since Idol went out of its way to paint him as the idiot stoner kid who didn't deserve to be there. This tour has done wonders for him in terms of PR because his reviews and press have mostly been refreshingly positive. A lot of the damage done by AI has been washed away by the tour. So when articles come out that reinforce the stereotypes of the dumb kid who can't even remember the words, fans will be quick to jump to Jason's defense.

If you listen to his other SOTR videos you will see that he uses the 'dreams that you dream of' for the first verse and 'dreams that you dare to' for the second verse (around 1:30) I've checked several youtubes and there doesn't seem to be any 'flubs'. He sings it consistently.

Sorry, GG. You screwed up big time.

I can see why you are a Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist instead of a winner. I bet most of the other reporters did all of the work for the hip hop article and you just slapped your name on it.

Just admit you got the short straw and didn't want to go to the American Idol concert. I'm sure the Ring The Bells tour is more of your cuppa.

As Eileen stated he has been using the words dreams that you dare to , dream really do come true in the second verse. The first verse he uses dreams that you dream of. If you you tube his original AI performance, it is the same lyrics. He has sung it that way since AI and in every concert. This is called MUSICAL INTERPRETATION. Thank you for trying to clear up your statements, but again, please check your facts. His version is based on brother IZ's but again not the exact same as this is what he wanted to do with the song. He has been consistent and it is wrong to say he flub words when he did not.
