Make way, plebeians!
Some celebs are all about the fans. Others try to avoid them at all costs.
Nicole Richie was whisked to her seat from backstage at the Max Azria show by a slew of security folk just a minute before the festivities began. Seriously. I timed it.
The pregnant "Simple Life" star was swept up by her posse (including one who donned sunglasses, "The Matrix"-style) mere seconds after the lights went back up. Mingle with the hoi polloi?! You must be joking!
Richie was seated next to supermodel Molly Sims and across the catwalk from we're-just-friends Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, who whispered and giggled each other as models waltzed by.
Down the row were Mya, Ciara and Carrie Underwood. Pre-show, the former "American Idol" champ said she admires Gwen Stefani's rock-inspired line, L.A.M.B. Ooh! Any plans to design? "I'm sure you have to reach a cultural icon status and I don't think I'm there," she said. "I'm not quite a fashionista."
