Sadly, this day has finally arrived. The day where we retire Soulja Boy Monday. We just feel it's time, sort of like when MTV's TRL used to retire videos after a certain number of days in a row of being in the top 10.
We made it three months with Soulja Boy Monday, which is quite a run.

I was fully prepared to retire Soulja Boy Monday this week, figuring it had run its course after hearing the song played on Z100.
Then, I experienced something on Sunday that altered my line of thinking.
I was partying in a bar called Head First in Cincinnati before the Jets-Bengals game with Lawyer friends Steve and Brendan and Teacher friend Kevin. DJ Toad, aka some dude with Grandmaster Sex-ay sunglasses and a Bengals jersey with "DJ" instead of a number on it, switched the music from Pearl Jam to Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat."
Two blonde girls, who combined weighed roughly 34 pounds (including their Bengals jerseys), cleared a circle and performed the Soulja Boy dance for the entire song. It was a beautiful thing to see. It earned a round of applause, at least from me and my crew. It was at this point I said, "Damn! I wish I had my digital camera with me to record that and make it my Soulja Boy Monday clip."
Alas, I was powerless to record it, so we're stuck with some Superman. But at least we've got another Soulja Boy Monday to be proud of so crank dat!
Think Soulja Boy Monday isn't catching on? Think again, people.
Fox Sports jumped the gun and went to Soulja Boy Sunday, playing the song as background music during high/lowlights of the Jets-Eagles game after a commercial break.
OK, sure, maybe that's got more to do with the popularity of the song than it does Pet Rock's Soulja Boy Monday, but whatever. Here we go with week 5 of SBM, and it's a doozie.
